What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Picked up a growler of Cirrus at Hailstorm. Haze..

Hawks, have you tried Lumberjack Breakfast?
Nope I haven't, it sounds awesome just haven't gotten around to a trip to the bottle shop lately. The case of Sue and now the case of Stone has held me over pretty well lol.

Picked up a howler of it today too. Smelled awesome. The question is whether I drink that after this growler.

Bodhi has eluded me, but I've heard for years that it's top notch and one of Ohios best. I was wondering if you made it over to CBC.
No -- but every bar and restaurant in Columbus had multiple options from CBC on draft and in bottles.

And Bodhi is fantastic. Total Citra bomb.

Growler of Jive Gummy, Noon Whistle's latest NE IPA. Released today and the place was packed so I didn't get a chance to talk to the brewer to see what hops he used. I haven't tried it yet but will post my thoughts once I do.

Transient releasing a BBA Imperial Vanilla Cream Stout today -- Bad Hombre. From their FB page:

Introducing the first Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout produced from our new Michigan location! This yuge Imperial Cream Stout has millions and millions of flavors from the massive amount of vanilla we added after it spent 10 months luxuriating in the finest bourbon barrels you can even imagine. Trust me. I'm not going to say it's the best beer anyone has ever made, but people are saying that. I heard it many many times.

Come in this Thursday starting at 4pm EST and wrap your tiny hands around a bottle of this Bad Hombre. Believe me, you won't be disappointed.

:lmao:

Sounds pretty freaking delicious, too. Love the bourbon barrel / vanilla combo.

A bunch of Surly cans hit Florida today at Total Wine & More across the state...Todd the Axeman, Furious, Xtra Citra, Coffee Bender...gonna pick some up this weekend.

:excited:

Got a killer box of Treehouse today. Julius, Green, Doppelganger, Alter Ego, Curiosity 30 and 31, Bright with Citra, Bright with Nelson, Pride and Purpose.

The C30 and Bright Citra were 2 months old and meh...Julius is in point.

$15/4 pack. I'll buy that all day long. I spend $16-$18 on Civil.Society 4 packs, and Todd beats em most of the time.
JFC it's still 17 per up here.

ETA and Todd is no longer with Surly, not sure how important that is but he's moved to 3Fs.

Pretty sure that the existing recipes stay with Surly. But gotta say that I'm really excited to see what he can come up with in conjunction with FFF.

Yeah they do as does the name. But when a brewer leaves there can be an impact, no idea how influential he was at Surly though.

Only had one from them -- and it was really good, but totally different from Todd IMO. Which of theirs is like Todd? I'll definitely grab it next time I'm over there.
Nothing that's exactly like Todd but in terms of quality. The cloud series is awesome and is 13 bucks for a 4 pack I think.

FYI Mikerphone is close to setting an opening date, and he's going to distribute less at least for a good while so he makes sure his taproom has plenty.

I'd guess (and it's just a guess) that the other guys are skilled enough to keep cranking out the existing recipes without a big drop off. But from what I've read, Todd was the creative inspiration behind most of their best beer, so new stuff might not be as min blowing moving forward.

Yeah, I follow on FB. Based on the one Special Sauce that I was lucky enough to randomly get my hands on, that will be 100% worth traveling for.

Todd is still somewhat "exotic" to me as I hit IL for beer maybe 5-6 times a year, and it's only around maybe half of the time when I go. LOL.

Meh, Hailstorm is so damn close it's not worth the extra for Todd IMO.
Picked up some more Cirrus today.

While I think Todd is better than pretty much anything at Hailstorm, it's not almost 2x better. I just hope they keep their prices reasonable. In a time of $18-25 growler fills, $13 is a bargain for most of their beers (at least their standard hops).

We get the cloud for 10.99 or so at Binnys Mokena. Hard to beat.

Hawks how far away are you from More Brewing?

Were you able to get any?   It's probably gone now but I'll check today.   Transient has been killing it lately on new releases.  Hoping to make it down to the Beer Church in New Buffalo also.

Unfortunately no -- crazy week and weekend for me with volleyball tournaments for the girls and now sitting at Midway getting ready to head to Vegas for work. Per his FB page still had 4 cases yesterday though.
