What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Got some M43 on the way. Can't wait to see it if it's all hype or something worth posting about.

Just drank a Treehouse Green on the way into MiamI International Airport...had a couple Alpine Duets that didn't compare to what they were 2 years ago....but they worked for the situation.
Damn just saw your message. Got to use the @ function. I am worried you will be disappointed. I really like it but I also don't drink JJJJulius as my fallback beer.

If you do like it, I'm going to be getting all their hazy ipas regularly.

Holy Hunahpus Day...poured at the fest and drank a bunch of beers, met Hawks' bro in law who stopped by my tent and said hello, drank more beers, and came home and napped for 2 hours. I didn't try as many as I did last year, I stayed away from heavy beers and stuck with mostly sours and IPAs...

Working fests is so much fun. Perfect weather, lots of hot wimmens, and it's always fun hanging with brewers and beer dorks.
Was coming in here to ask if anyone was there. Love that fest. Knew guys there from Calusa and Casa Agria and they were right back to back in the D tent area. So spent most of the fest under the tent having their beers. Good stuff. And saved me from the sun. Some of those lines were crazy. People waiting an hour for 3 Sons, but I can walk right up to the Other Half tent.

Breakside Brewery just open up a brand new location downtown.  Checkout their new brewing system...

The custom-designed 10 barrel brewhouse is custom-built to explore hoppy beers, with 3 vessels, two 10 barrel fermenters, and three 20 barrel fermenters. Breakside is calling it the “Hop Lab” and one of the features is a custom-designed method to cool the wort and run it through dry hops for added aroma without the heat scrubbing off subtle flavors and aromatics. Breakside has previously focused on shelf stability, but this brewery will focus on fresh beer and discovering the next great hop varieties and techniques.

all the taps at all bars run right off the tanks

Hawks and or CDL, DLD tickets on sale next Sat. You guys trying to get tickets?
No guarantee on variants this year for your $180 -- might just get vintage DL (and by vintage they prolly mean '15 / '16). Just a heads up if you're planning to try for tickets, might want to avoid group E.

Yeah, saw this. Not sure what I am going to do now. What a crock of #### but at least it was before the tickets were sold.Still doesn't make things less ####ty.

Charging 180 for that is ludicrous.

It's just a $180 lottery ticket to try for BVDL as far as the beer goes IMO. I've given away bottles of DL the last few times I went because there are so many better stouts out there. The shares are where it's at for DL day IMO.

ETA: I would guess that the bands are pretty sweet if you're a metal fan too.

It's St. Patrick's Day - GREEN Miller Lite, you heathens.....

Although, Guiness and Smithwicks would also be acceptable answers tonight....

I go mostly for the share although I also like DL. I'm not in it for the zomgvanilla but I'd take it if I got it. But yeah, it's far from a bargain. Even less so now.

Oh and some of the taps were cool too. Had my first Todd there. Woke up last year smelling barrel aged all day from the pours of Jackie O's I had. Delicious.

Noon Whistle Bernie variants (Vanilla/Orange - ok, Cinnamon/Vanilla - good, Sea Salt Chocolate - good, and Coconut/Chocolate - excellent) and a couple of Jive Gummy. Topping it off with some Citrusinensis.

I've heard that BVDL is a totally different beer, and mind-blowingly good, from people whose taste I trust. That said, if I ended up with one I'd prolly trade it for three or four cases worth of Treehouse or Trillium hops or something.

I've had some really bad DL variants too -- Muerte (with smoked chile peppers I think in Tequila barrels) and Earl of Biggle something (weird spices in some kind of weird desert wine bottle -- tasted like bad sweet liquid Indian food) both totally sucked a$$ IMO. I forget which year it was, but one time the regular DL tasted like thick soy sauce too.   Of course that was when it was like $15 / Bottle and it wouldn't have been quite as funny if I had paid $200 for a ticket.

I was considering Muerte last year. Went Dwarven Power Bottom. Brother went Trump and Pump. Was honestly just hoping for BBA DL but just missed it. Haven't opened either yet.

Anyway, I'll try and see what happens.

I've heard that the two you guys got are both good -- as is BBA and French Vanilla Militia. IMO try to stay away from anything with any kind of spices.

Anyway, Blood of the Unicorn right now. I haven't had it in awhile since it was really underwhelming last time and I would just rather have Furious. This is much better now.

No Irish Coffee variant?

Coconut/chocolate sounds really good.

Sitting at a Giordanos on the Vegas Strip waiting for a pie and having a Goose Island Green Line. It is what it is.

Since you appeared to like that dreck you need to get up here and we'll take you to a good pizza place.

Well, another ####show for DLD tickets. I ended up getting E (wasn't happy about that at all and really thought about saying #### it) but the day was salvaged when my brother got C. I already got rid of one E to a friend who just wants to go for the experience. Should be able to pawn off the other somehow.

Here's to another cold and rainy beerfest.

Now, to get some work done and head over to Hailstorm for their BA Vlad with vanilla (zomgvanilla!!!) release.

Think I'm hitting Mikerphone tomorrow....wonder how much of a #### show it is over there today.

ETA think I'll be skipping....huge line moving really slow with a capacity of 45. One guy on FB said line moved 10ft in 20 minutes. #### that. Even the to go line is crazy long.

Saw that too. I was going to go this afternoon, but I think I can wait a week or two.

Didn't realize you were out this way. I'll be watching throughout the day, might head up early tomorrow might not. I would really like to get a couple mikerphone check 1, 2.

Had a nice afternoon. Got 2 bottles of Hipster Brunch Rye and 2 bottles of Hazel's Nuts. Had some M43 and BCBS 13 on draft. Sampled Black Agnes, Red Agnes, A Smile of Fortune and bought 2 bottles of their new release: Amelia.

It's going to be like this for a long long time I think. Mike hasn't increased his output, and demand will get higher.
Ugh. Based on the pictures I saw online and the thread at BA, it was pretty brutal. No beer is worth hours in line to me at this point.
Yeah 2+ hours in line, tap room has occupancy of 45 and only 48oz of beer each. He didn't really buy much in the way of newer or bigger or newer equipment from what I understand, just took what he had bought and been using at Une Anne/Hubbard's Cave. With his beer he's going to need something the size of what Half Acre is doing...about half of what Pipeworks is doing. He's already said his distro will shrink considerably and he sold out Mikerphone Check 1, 2 bottles in about 2 hours. That's nuts. I love his beer but hoped that him opening his own shop would make it easier to get his beer, not more difficult.
