What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (5 Viewers)

Had a pint each of Abita Cream Ale and Purple Haze at their brewpub along with lunch. Good stuff.

Now, Troegs Pale Ale. Can see why this is a top ten APA
Don't think I've seen the Pale around.
Troeg's is like Weyerbacher - highly underrated breweries. I've said it a hundred times - southeast PA is such a kickass area for beer. Like beer? Like potato chips and pretzels? It's like making a pilgrimage to the Vatican if you like Catholicism. I'm serious.
What's amazing is that I can get it here in NOLA. I can't get DFH, Stone, Great Divide, etc...in other words, most of the great American craft brews. But, somehow, a local store has Troegs, and is the only store in the South to get it. GB them.3C's, if you have some trouble finding it, I'd be happy to set up a trade.
Thanks! Bound to be able to get it here. I can always find the seasonals, Troegenator, Hopback and Rugged Trail.

Still "slightly intoxicated here". Time to go to bed I guess.

:lmao:

Rodenbach Grand Cru while I wait for guests to show
Are they hot?
Not so much. We are playing "couples" night.
Is that a code word for orgy? Sounds like fun.
FBGs' WIF?
Oh, hell no. I like my wife.
We would probably like her too. Not saying, just saying.... :lmao:
Probably. ;) Everybody else does.
Not even touching that one man ;)
:D Kind of like a hanging curve when the coach has told you to take a pitch.Women like her cuz she's so nice. Men like her cuz she's nice and easy on the eyes.

Popped the cork on some Three Philosophers. First time I've had it. Very interesting to say the least. If I were any good at reviewing beers, this would be a long writeup. So much going on here. I don't even know where to start.

furley, you try/like either of the porters I sent you?
just polished one each of the Summit Great Northern Porter and the Bully! Porter.Bully! >>> Summit

Summit had some sorta unusual fruity thing happening.. couldn't put a finger on it. not bad by any means.. got better as it warmed. was a little "thin" going down.

i really liked the smooth coffee taste of the Bully! had a great head that lasted, very clean taste. very straightforward. i'd drink more if i had access to them.

This got so much better as it warmed up. I could never truly discern the cherry taste that everyone else seems to notice though. Good nonetheless.

Okay, I'm off and running. :banned:

Seeing as how it's 11:00 or so, and I've just recently succombed to the thrills AND spills of online poker, I'm predicting I hear the same bird give that first chirp at 4:45.

We'll see.

I'd just like to take a moment to thank wilked and congratulate him on his beer thread. His little baby turned 2 today. :excited:

wilked, none of us would be what we are today (alcoholics) without you, so thanks!

Thanks GB. My greatest creation, and the gift that keeps on giving. I have some high quality brews in the fridge that just might have to be consumed prior to the Radiohead concert tonight

I just had a brief moment of inspiration (along with the perspiration that will come along with seeing it to reality). We should have a master index of the beers in this thread.

I'll try to catalog all these in the 100+ pages, but obviously it'll take me a while. If anyone wants to volunteer for a range of pages in the thread let me know. Otherwise, I'll just plug along in my spare time and get the index posted whenever it gets does (or even if it does). Was thinking we could possibly link to either a review of the beer here in the index, or to BA reviews. Or both maybe. We'll see.

Don't worry, moments of sheer insight are few and far between for me. It won't happen again. However, I am happy that the score in this regard for Me vs Furley is 1-0.

I guess if that were to happen, you'd want the list to be in the first post for easy reference. So the list will need to be sent to Wilked.
