Oddly enough, I too know this feeling.Boddington's was an early favorite of mine. There will always be a soft spot in my heart for that beer. Saw it the other day. The four pack looked lonely. I wanted to comfort it. Let it know it was wanted. And drink it too.......I'm not a sicko after all.I'll be downing a couple of smooth Boddington's tonight.![]()

Seriously, one of these days we should take Tip Top up on the offer for a cornfest at his house. If we actually ran out of beer we could get growlers a plenty down the road or lay under the tap of his SNPA keg and pour beer into our moufs.Oh, I have that too.Yep. It would be very very difficult to run out of beer. No one hates me in St. Paul that I'm aware of. All to the west. Edina and Bloomington.I think I like this one more than the Rogue Chocolate Stout. They also surprisingly make a great Wit beer that I have only seen on tap. Their IPA is not quite as up to par, but it is also an English IPA so I think that has something to do with it. I need to revisit their barleywine as well.Having a bit of a dessert here. Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout.

Good session beer.Went to a ####ty grocery store and bought some SNPA. It has been a long time since I bought this beer. Actually, I think it was when NC popped the cap last August. I forgot how refreshing this beer can be. Not a worldbeater, but an all around easy drinking pale.

I was at one of our local brewpubs tonight and was talking to the brewer about his IPA. He was shooting for a hybrid of an American and English IPA, and I am not one to complain to any brewer about what they are making, but I wish he would abandon the whole English part of it. He said he was trying to please everyone, and I at least made a comment about not needing to please anyone but yourself. I will cut him some slack, since he has brewed several different Belgian style ales that are pretty tasty.Yeah, I am not a fan of English IPAs.

And I still have a few bombers from the case I ordered from Bear Republic a while ago: a Racer 5, a Black Bear Stout, and a Red Rocket Ale
Plus most of what I brought back from Michigan (Bells Oberon, Bells Cherry Stout, Bells Special Double Cream Stout, Centennial IPA, Crooked Tree IPA, Double Crooked Tree IPA, Mad Hatter IPA), and a Victory Storm King left from a BA trade...
I need to get well so I can start hammering these down.

I totally agreed with your assesment of the Hennepin btw. Great rendition of the style, and every time I have one I think to myself why I don't drink it more. I would love to get a hold of some Cave-Aged Hennepin, even though I am a little skeptical to see whether the cave aging really does that much for the beer over regular cellaring.eh...I wasn't really impressed. Yeah, I wonder wtf cave aging actually is. The Hennepin is some serious ####.Edited to cave aging.
