Treats last night at the GI Fulton brewery in Chicago.....all on tap.

Proprietor BCS (holy ####!)

Lilith (pomegranate Berliner Weiss)

Cherry Rye IPA (no name)

Experimental Honey IPA (no name)
Was it the new proprietors or last years?
New one
Nice, how does it compare to last years?
Didn't have last year's, but this was one the best beers I've ever had. Amazing.

Stone - Master of Disguise Imperial Golden Stout. I'm a getting a serious Pepsi Clear vibe. To me it tasted like a coffee lager not a stout

I've recently had:

Wolaver's Alta Gracia Coffee Porter

Starr Hill Brewery Little Red Roostarr Coffee Cream Stout

Lancaster Brewing Company Shoe Fly Porter

Yards Brewing Company George Washington's Tavern Porter

Atwater Vanilla Java Porter

Pizza Boy Sunmy Side Up (Little Amps Double Coffee)

Pizza Boy is the house label at a bar / restaurant named Al's of Hampton in Enola, PA. They collaborated with a local coffee roaster in downtown Harrisburg, PA called Little Amps. I got in on draft and they served it in a glass coffee mug. It was excellent.

The Yards was also served in a ceramic mug. Seems like I am ordering a lot of mug beers.

Well obviously I am on a big coffee, vanilla, molasses, chocolate craze right now. I've actually sampled more than those listed above, but the others were not as good. I REALLY like all the beers above.

I also have a big bottle of Deschutes Black Butte Porter that I haven't opened yet and I've heard great things about it.

Picked up three of those Pipeworks thanksgiving beers at Binny's today, and some Orange Truffle Abduction for me and as gifts for some friends.

Half Acre Torus at the taproom at the moment.
Awesome.

What did you think of Half Acre?
Nice place. Sleek and still pretty brand-new with plenty of great beers on tap. I can only imagine how packed it must get at peak times. We were there early enough and on a Thursday to where it wasn't a problem.

Chicago guys running down to Skokie Sunday for my sons' hockey game, will hit Binny's. Anything special out there to look for? I was thinking about Pipeworks stuff seeing as I can't get it in WI. Just purchased a 2012 Black Husky Twelve Dogs and Barrel Aged 12 Dogs, plus with all the Central Waters Barrel Aged stuff around the corner I am not planning on spending significant money, probably a bottle or two. of something.
Just for future reference, there's a great store just off the freeway in northern Illinois - Antioch Fine Wine. About 10 minutes drive west of hwy 94. Great selection and very good prices. Last time I was there I was able to get lots of stuff we can't get in WI - Pipeworks, Rev, Half Acre, Surly, Firestone W., Stone.

Thanks, I have been there and I am on thier weekly e-mail. I was always under the impression that any Pipeworks stuff they get bought up immediately, so I was not into takign the trip. But I was informmed that this is not the case, currently they have approximately 30 different kinds of Pipeworks. I live approximatley 45 minutes from the Antioch Store, so I may take a trip out there one of these nights, I was looking to get some of the Pipeworks.

Thanks Cletius.

Look at the batch numbers on all the Pipeworks bottles and then use this: http://pdubs.net/batch/

PW Smore Money Smore Problems very nice, tons of chocolate, good bit of marshmallow not a lot of graham cracker though. Has a decent alcohol bite, wonder if it would mellow with age? I will let my 2nd bottle age for a bit and see how it is then.

Slapshot Stick to the Nuts is good, can taste the peanut butter but it's not overpowering, compliments the brown ale nicely. Would buy it again.

Went to Alpine for lunch. Had 2 Nelsons, a 4oz of Good (14%) and a bourbon barrel aged Odins Raven. Then a Hoppy Birthday and a barrel aged Speedway for dessert.

Picked up some Pipeworks Blueberry Pie Scraper and Unicorn's Revenge. Should be good for dessert tomorrow.

No dice on their nelson. Yet!

I've got 1 of each of the Pipeworks three dragons. If I were to hypothetically drink one tomorrow night with dinner (no more than that, gotta drive home), which one should it be?

Got one of the pipeworks dragons with cranberries but was disappointed to miss out on my Binnys supply of s'mores beer. I'd been looking forward to that even if it is a gimmick.

Growler of hop stoopid tonight.

Not a gimmick. Very good, lots of chocolate and marshmallow, not much graham cracker and I think aging for a few months or longer will mellow out the alcohol bite. I had two bottles and will age that 2nd one till at least spring.

If you can pick up the Blueberry Pie Scraper which is the 3rd of the three dragons. Very good as well, haven't had the Couple two tree yet but Blueberry was better than Flavor Memory Response.

Couldn't find it either. Like you said, gimmick or not it still sounds delicious.

Really need to get my drink on this weekend, my PW stash is growing more rapidly than I can drink them. Add in the random 6 pack or 4 pack and I need to make some room before the wife kills me the next time I bring more beer home!

Pretty easy. Get another fridge.

Had a permanent funeral. Tailed off some. Also found a Mars in the fridge. Still smells great.
Man, I would love a fresh Perm Funeral. That was so good. How's the Mars taste?
Not quite 100% but still glorious. Just a big fan of this one.

When Permanent Funeral is released again we can set something up. I can go for some more palate scorching Shorts.

I just need to make sure I can find 3-4 Alpha Klaus. The tax accountant ocd in me has me hung up on this mission. And PW Nelson.
