What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Really need to get my drink on this weekend, my PW stash is growing more rapidly than I can drink them. Add in the random 6 pack or 4 pack and I need to make some room before the wife kills me the next time I bring more beer home!
Pretty easy. Get another fridge.
So much easier than drinking myself stupid.
I hear you man. But they tend to go hand in hand. You usually just have more to choose from.

Do both?
Birthday weekend for me so at least the drinking myself stupid is on the table!

Had a permanent funeral. Tailed off some. Also found a Mars in the fridge. Still smells great.
Man, I would love a fresh Perm Funeral. That was so good. How's the Mars taste?
Not quite 100% but still glorious. Just a big fan of this one.

When Permanent Funeral is released again we can set something up. I can go for some more palate scorching Shorts.

I just need to make sure I can find 3-4 Alpha Klaus. The tax accountant ocd in me has me hung up on this mission. And PW Nelson.
My offer still stands...I would like to grab an Alpha Klaus...need to talk to my guy about holding a few for me.

You gave yourself to much credit to begin with. Get the fridge and enjoy the beer.

What I recommend then is that you take advantage of the long birthday weekend and dig into that Pipeworks inventory since they will release something awesome very soon. The late hawks games gives you a valid reason too. Sounds like a perfect storm to me.

Are you going to be standing in line for BCBS?

My guy will hold some for me if I want...I typically don't like BA beer so I am likely going to pass but haven't decided. I think that Firestone Walker XVIII is on the menu this weekend and based on how I like that then I may or may not put my order in for some BCBS.

Had one of the top 5 beers ever last night. Just fantastic.

Knee Deep Hoparillo triple IPA. Bought last 3 at the store. 22oz of 11% goodness
I've been on the wagon since the 22nd. Really fired up for today

2 x Stone Drink by 12-26

4 x DogFish 90

2 x Knee Deep Hoparillo Triple

Who cares about food?

Got one of the pipeworks dragons with cranberries but was disappointed to miss out on my Binnys supply of s'mores beer. I'd been looking forward to that even if it is a gimmick.

Growler of hop stoopid tonight.
Not a gimmick. Very good, lots of chocolate and marshmallow, not much graham cracker and I think aging for a few months or longer will mellow out the alcohol bite. I had two bottles and will age that 2nd one till at least spring.
A local brewery down here (Barley Mow) has a smores stout, its pretty good...they serve it topped with mini marshmellows.

Stone Lucky *******
Yeah, these have been all over the stores lately. More Double Bastards too, when for months I couldn't find them. How did you like the Lukcy?
Liked it a lot

I've got a double sitting in the fridge
Enjoyed the Lukcy but thought the Double was superior. Grabbed a second one on my last beer run. Also found some Backwoods *******, which is awesome this year. Basically whiskey+caramel flavored ale.

I also have a big bottle of Deschutes Black Butte Porter that I haven't opened yet and I've heard great things about it.
I really love that one. I don't get it too often since it's a little pricey, but usually give into temptation 2 or 3 times while it's in stock. Lots of dark fruit mixed with the chocolate.

Anyone try this years Anchor Christmas yet?
I've only tried 4 of the winter beers this year, but the Anchor was probably my favorite so far. It had the most in-your-face Christmas-y taste.

So far:

Pliny

Unicorn hits rock bottom

Zombie Dust bottled 2 days ago

Alpha King

Boomerang ipa
A murderers row of sorts.I had a bomber of Three Palms Palmkin earlier, and am about to plow through a Crowler of Crank.

Gotta go light tonight, meeting a friend from middle school tomorrow in Vero Beach. I haven't seen her in 31 years except for on Facebook the last few years...gotta be ready for an allnighter.

Yeah, was a good night so far. Hope yours tomorrow is better.

A Dales Pale Ale I used to make a beer cheese dip for soft pretzels. Then a Grapefruit Sculpin, Benchmark Hop Chunks, Enjoy By, Boo Koo, Hansenns Gueuze 2009, Firestone Walker 16th Anny, Cascade Vine 2010. Good stuff, but bummed I didn't have any Nelson today. Went to Alpine the last two day and the lines were too long to stand through, so went home empty handed.

Any one trying for the ####storm that is Bourbon County Black Friday?

My friend's bar is having a Black Friday event today, with the following beers: KBS, Founders Breakfast Stout, Founders Smoked Porter, Founders Dark Grimace, Founders Nitro Oatmeal, Epic Big Bad Baptist, Anderson Valley Wild Turkey Bourbon Barrel Stout, North Coast Old Rasputin, New Holland Dragons Milk, Goose Island Bourbon County 2013, Goose Island Bourbon County Barley Wine 2013, Goose Island The Muddy Imperial Stout, Southern Tier Warlock, Southern Tier Mokah, Southern Tier Choklat, Southern Tier Crème Brulee, Ale Smith Speedway Stout, Ten Ninety Imperial Porter, Oskar Blues Ten Fidy, Great Lakes Blackout Stout, Alaskan Double Black IPA, and Youngs Double Chocolate Stout.

Nice list but I am not making this event, would like to try the Goose Island Barleywine.

I did and it was rather easy pickings. No lines in any of the places I went into. One place had about 50 people outside before it opened, so I skipped it. Word of mouth got me back over there after the crowd was gone. Walked in to hear the guy in front of me being told that he got the last coffee. :censored: and then got charged double for the Barleywine 4 pack. :censored: :censored:

When it was all said and done, I got one of each bomber and 2 4s of the reg and the barleywine.

I thought you didn't drink any Goose Island beers? ;)

Didn't bother with Black Friday. If I get some later on, I get some. If not, . Had it many times before and will have it many times in the future....I don't chase :gang2: and don't buy enough at local stores to be on "the list". The one store where I do most of my shopping, the only one where they'd recognize me as a regular customer, posted a picture on Twitter this morning of a line snaking around the store before they opened this morning....in like 20 degrees snowy weather. They're the only place who actually said they were getting BCS. #### that.

That said, that list looks pretty great. Our best local beer bar was supposed to be having a Black Saturday event tomorrow with tappings of the new BCS, Coffee BCS, and Vanilla Rye BCS, along with some other goodies. The shipment couldn't get here with the snowstorm last week and they had to turn around. I assume it'll be tapped next month sometime. Oh well.

I'm hoping to luck into a bottle of Proprietors and Vanilla. I love coconut, and never had Prop. I had a few of the Vanillas when they came out in 2010 (or'11?)If I don't get them, oh well. I have a vertical going back to '07 that will end this year. I have too many regulars from the last 3 years to drink. No need to buy any this year. I'm taking the 07-09 down any day now.

This year's Proprietors = :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag: . Just fantastic.

If you can get that, get it. I'm 99.9999% sure it's not coming to Buffalo so I had no chance on that.

Vanilla was always good. I've heard Coffee is really really good this year.

I still owe you beer. Text me.

Went to one store today. Picked up some Alpha Klaus and Pipeworks Nelson. Guy must remember me now since he asked if I was looking for something else.

I asked if he had any bourbon county n and he said his allocation will be there Monday and he expects a lot of each.

Anyway he said he has some other stuff behind the counter he could sell me. Was only yum yum and Gumballhead. Declined both of those but hopefully in the future I will be privy to other things they hold back.

2014 BCBS. My beer searching has gotten to a level where I am opening it with slight disappointment that it isn't the coffee stout.

How is it? Wouldn't mind the Proprietors but otherwise don't really care about missing out on it.
It's freaking great. Not into bourbon barrel stuff? Last years Prop was sick, hoping I somehow get my hands on this years version.

I am but they had some segment on the news today and people were standing in line for 17 hrs. Not up for that. I will see if I can find something early next week when most of the smaller stores get their shipments. But if I miss out, then I miss out.

That's nuts. Easily got regular BCBS at a few spots. They had limits but regular wasn't hard to get. Worked out well be ifs the release of OB Imp Stout and Founders new backstage coincided so it was a good haul. I'm curious about the Founders Raspberry Stout.

I am sure it wasn't like that for some locations as I read people started lining up at 4 or so. The guy on the news that was first in line said he was from MI and waited 17 hrs in line. Looked like he got 2 bombers and a 4 pack of regular. There were other people who drove up from Dallas and other locations, etc. When I talked to the guy at the local store he said he expects people to be following the truck into the lot on Monday AM.

Don't get me wrong, if I saw it on the shelf I would buy it. But I am not going to get up at the crack of dawn to wait in line for it or follow a beer truck.
