What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

At Angry Chair, yet another good new brewery in Tampa...pretty legit. So far I've tried:

Roundabout IPA

Gose

Ascension IPA

German Chocolate Cupcakes Stout (Awesome)

3 Little Birds Florida-weiss

Red Ale

Just what I need....another brewery in my Tampa Bay rotation. This area is quickly becoming a force in the craft beer game.

Notable breweries within a 30 minute driving radius:

Cigar City

Rapp

7venth Sun

Cycle

Three Palms

Coppertail

Angry Chair

Pair-O-Dice

Six Ten

3 Daughters

Green Bench

Tampa Bay Brewing Co

Dunedin Brewery

St Somewhere

And at least 3 or 4 new ones slated to open soon....its good to live here!!!
Nice list. I feel the same about my Nor Cal location. Lucky to be living in this great area.
Yup, some on my list are new and unknown outside of the area, but they are making some good, legit beer and its only a matter of time before they will be on the map.Nor Cal has some legendary breweries...I plan on a visit in the next year or so.

Coppertail Free Dive IPA - Tampa's newest bottled local beer. Its good.

Also picked up a Jdubs Up Top IPA, a 3 Daughters Bimini Twist IPA (didn't know either was canned and in distro), and a Coppertail Unholy Trippel (which I have had at the brewery and was delicious, 9% ABV)

Hopefully soon we'll all be spoiled with locals.

Had a Gumballhead and a Dust but since today is my birthday, hitting the Napa cabernet from The Terraces.

Up to Wisconsin this weekend. Plan on bringing back some Black Top and Alesmith.
In Wisconsin I highly recommend you pick up some Black Husky (Pale Ale, 12 Dogs, Sproose Joose, Sparkly Eyes, Big Buck Brown). A very good brewery but can be found in select locations. Not sure where in Wisconsin you are headed, if your trip takes your through Kenosha Tenuta's carries Black Husky.
Going to Lake Tomahawk area. I won't be passing through Kenosha this time but I appreciate the head's up. I will be going through Madison but likely won't be stopping there. I do plan on hitting up Tribute Brewing in Eagle River. Hope they have some Mele Kalikimaka coconut porter left. Probably also go back to Minocqua Brewing which is the definition of "meh" but my wife likes to go there so who am I to argue?
While heading through the Dell's stop off at Liquor Central, they are very close to the Outlet Mall. They occasionally carry Toppling Goliath. I follow them on facebook, I'll let you know what they recently posted that they have in stock.

3 Daughters' Bimini Twist IPA. 7% ABV, 82 IBU...first time trying this one. Decent at best. A lot of maltiness for an IPA. Don't think I'll be picking this one up again.

So a little buzzed Hippliing....Had some Firestone Double Jack last night. First time I've had it and it is fantastic.
Keep your eye out for another of our locals, Figueroa Mountain. Even better than Firestone IMO.
Figueroa is from Santa Ynez Valley and is making outstanding beers. They opened a few tasting rooms locally. Lizard is their DIPA and it is fantastic. Finished a growler with a buddy before church last night

Merry Christmas

Also on tap today....Stone drink by 12/26 and Knee Deep Hopparilla triple IPA?

Buddy sent me some local CO beers, pretty impressed by Oskar Blues nighttime and Dales Pale Ale.
Also have a bottle of this chilling and a Stone Cali-Belgique. Mmmmmm.
That one is awesome.

Local distributor had LaBatt's 24-pack pounders for $22. So, what the hell.
:X
They get better.
I would rather spend 22 on 2 PW bombers at 10-11%abv and get just as reasonably drunk but with much better flavor.
I'll keep that in mind.
Upon further review, you may have been right.

Tonights menu:

Cigar City Jai Alai IPA

Coppertail Free Dive IPA

Angry Chair Ascension IPA

Cycle Crank IPA

Brew Bus Last Stop IPA

And at midnight, a toast with New Glarus Serendipity

Heading out to NYE party by the Lake.

Rasputin

Pretty Things - Baby Tree

Founders - Dissenter

Brouwerij Slaapmutske - Kersmutske (Belgian)

Pours two fingers of head initially, then it quickly formed to almost four fingers. A dark brown body.
The aroma is brown sugar, molasses and anise.
The taste is mild at first, roasted malt and licorice sweetness, mild bitter in the middle, finish is long and mildly sweet.
The texture is light and soft.
Great smelling and nice flavor.

So Free Dive and Crank side by side tasting....either my taste buds are fried or these beers are similar...noticed it the other night while having a Free Dive...Crank is a little softer, but they're in the same ballpark.

PW just got their two new 90 bbl tanks, essentially tripled their capacity to ramp up for canning this year. Also read this article and Grapefruit Sculpin will be in cans next year!! :excited:

Been enjoying Grapefruit Sculpin. I had a Founders Devil Dancer last night...was interested to see how it holds up over time. Tasting like a nice barleywine now. I think it was a 2014.

duckworth's grill and taphouse

http://www.duckworthsgrillandbar.com/

we've only been to the Mooresville and Huntersville locations, but I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal there. we probably go at least 3x a month.

looking forward to the yeti as I've heard great reviews. trying to hunt a chocolate 1 down.

Ha. I know Rob Duckworth very well. The one on Park Rd is my go-to bar and they sponsor my flag football team. I've only met Rob's wife once or twice, but talk to him monthly or so I guess. Big fan of Duckworth's.

small world. i've only met them briefly but I gather he is quite the beer connoisseur. he has hops vines at the mooresville location so i would assume he makes his own as well. wife said when he opened his stock fridge to grab the beers for me it was lined with all specialty bottles.

am going to try to catch up with him so he can help my growth process :)

Goose Island Coffee BCS 2014

Goose Island BCS 2014

Mikkeller Citra IIPA

Upright Six
How good is that 2014 coffee? Love that beer...
Really good. Better than regular, IMO, though regular was still fine. I've heard it's the best of the 2014 variants, other than Proprietors....I've had the Proprietors, definitely better. Vanilla was kicked before I got to the bar, didn't get to try that.
