Hey Palmersteel...you're in Charlotte right? If so, we need to talk...I need some NoDa Hop Cakes DIPA....just a couple of cans.http://myemail.constantcontact.com/Hop-Cakes----That-Is-All.html?soid=1110153311442&aid=RlMarkdYXgY
Yessir. I was out of town yesterday when they hit stores, but I'll swing by the brewery this week and see what I can find.
 NoDa FB post at noon today (Wed): We deliver to Plaza Midwood/Elizabeth, Huntersville, Steele Creek, Gastonia/Belmont and West CLT areas today.

If youd be interested in a small trade let me know, I wouldn't mind a couple of HDRs too...
Hi wing, not sure Palmers schedule but feel free to ask me to hunt something down if its a Charlotte area thing as well.
Great info here. Will do, man! If you ever want to do a trade for some Tampa Bay stuff let me know, I'm ALWAYS up for getting stuff thats available in the CLT area.
wing, if palmer doesn't have any luck I am making a run Friday and will write that down and look for it.

would love to try some of the tampa stuff on your recommendations. i'm just starting out but I think I am definitely a imperial stout and porter type guy.

Cool...you'd love Cycles Cream and Sugar Please, Rapp's Choc Hazelnut Porter, Three Palms always has a few stouts on, and CCB always has something interesting....only thing is all of them would have to be in 32oz form (growlers/Crowlers). Not many canned or bottled stouts/porters around locally (other than limited releases once in a while)

Oh my....just got word that Rapp has bottled some Gose...going on sale in a couple weeks...gonna have to clear my calendar for release day!!

:pickle:

Nothing like getting drunk off cheap beer. I don't drink beer for taste, so why not just get the strongest and cheapest beer I can buy?

The only beer that taste better than normal is mike's hard lemonade, but it is too sweet.

Does anyone in here like mike's hard lemonade?

If that's what you're after just man up and chug some cheap vodka. Save money, less calories.... Oh, and GTFO.

I can't stop drinking Crank. Just cracked growler #3 of the four I got Monday. I wanted to save at least two for the weekend...maybe I can hold off on the last one.

Sorry wing

Apparently all of the noda maniacs were out in full force. I struck out in all 3 places with the hop cakes. 1 place said they may have more Tues or wed but not 100 percent sure.

Yeah I figured it might be a tough score. No biggie...I've heard its good but not great, I just like the brewery and like trying anything they release if I can.

Thanks for checking though! And I'd still be up for a small trade anytime. I'm always up for some NoDa or Wicked Weed!

More Nelson, Bad Boy, and Exponential Hoppiness for me for lunch today. 5 growlers of Alpine, the grill, and the Xolos match later. Summertime, and the living is easy....

ETA: I feel like that dude in my avatar right now.

I'll keep an eye out for their products bud and let you know when I have success.

I've heard of them...was gonna try to check them out last time I was in Charlotte but ran out of time. I've read a few reviews on BA of some of their beers but haven't heard anything IRL...how are their beers?

Never tried them but a league member of ours said he rather enjoys them. Will be cracking that coffee/coconut bad boy now

Nice. Post how it is later.

I'm finishing up my 4th growler of Crank in the last 3 nights...going back to St Pete tomorrow, so I'll be stopping in for more...a girl I met recently and am hanging out with lives a mile from Cycle...she might be a keeper, at least for a minute, based of her location alone. Lol. Nah but she's pretty cool and gives me A legit reason to be in St Pete more often :-)

Three Palms Hot Schtuff stout w/brown sugar, cinnamon, and ghost peppers. Such a unique beer, like nothing else I've ever had.

Steeler all good, I've got wing covered on the hop cakes.

Tonight:

- elysian space dust

- troegs nugget nectar

- bells hopslam

- noda hop cakes

- fonta flora urban monk (Turkish with cardamom and coffee)

i got a coffee/cocnut blend coming in at 20% alc.

ever hear of the brewery palmer?
Yessir. Have had their Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Stout (Bomber), Chocolate Peppermint Stout (Bomber), and the Peanut Butter Jelly Sour (Draft). They are pretty good. Not crazy about them, but have never been disappointed. Haven't heard about that huge coffee coconut stout, sounds good, 20%, wow!!

I agree with your assessment palmer.

Went to Community Beer Works' "Snow Day" party, their annual release of their winter imperial stout, The Snow.

The Snow (2014)

That IPA (cask w/Nugget hops)

Frank

Pretty sure I drink more Frank than any other beer these days. It's become my #1.

Also picked up a growler of the new The Snow, 2015 batch. 9.2%, nice punch for a growler. Didn't get into it yet though. With every growler purchased, you get entered into a raffle for one of 5 bottles of the 2012 batch of The Snow. They hand-bottled 5 bottles of it back in 2012 and are giving them away in the raffle. Would be nice "rarity" score, considering they don't actually bottle anything.

Limited to just one 6 oz pour of CBS. Now drinking Griffin Claw Oblivious which is a tasty bourbon barrel aged wheat wine. The bourbon isn't very strong, but it's a nice beer.
