I was reading on Beeradvocate that some stores sold out of a few cases within hours of opening. This was even with a limit of two bottles per person. I would love to travel to the Rare release but my wife probably would not be terribly happy with that move.

I didn't even bother putting the word out for the Vanilla BCS. Mark knows that I'm looking for it - if he gets a chance, I know he'll pick one up for me. Otherwise I figure it's a lost cause.Bells 10000 should be way waaaaay easier to get, I'd think.
 
Last night purchased some Breakfast Stout and Backwoods ******* from Founders, some Stone Sublimely Self Righteous, St Bernardus Christmas Ale and Rogue Santas Private Reserve.

I really love me some Great lakes christmas.I like to cut it with guiness for a black christmas.Have some Victory Golden Monkey in the fridge, Bells 9000, Bells Kalamazoo Stout, and Portsmouth Brewing company Porter in a growler for the game today.
 
Short's Huma Lupa Licious and Bell's Kalamazoo Stout...I love Michigan beer! I should be pretty loaded by the time the fight starts.

Didn't know it was a belgian style ale. Not my favorite since I really don't like the style. That will probably change as a year ago I said the same about ipa's. Can't get enough of them now.
 
Book ended my Friday Fat Tire effort with a Saturday Carlsberg selection. I'm feeling pretty high and mighty after that double play ball. Cheers! :banned:

 
Flower Power thanks to the Task Man. :banned: Not as hoppy as most West Coast IPAs. That's not a bad thing. Very tasty. Reminds me of something I can't quite put my finger on.

Ah, sorry. I love Belgian style ales. I know what you mean though because I'm in a bit of an anti-IPA phase right now.
 
Last night while watching the Hawks destroy Couver:

Lakefront ipa

Tyranena bitter woman ipa

Bells christmas ale

My favorite was the Tyranena. Just tasty. Lakefront is really good too. Bells was too plain but I am guessing it was just overpowered by the ipa's I was drinking. Not nearly as good as Great Lakes Christmas ale though.

:)Drink the Horseheads IPA soon too. Double Wench will hold for awhile and LeBleu will hold for a long time.Make sure to mix up the LeBleu before you drink it. The blueberries tend to form a sediment at the bottom...if you want an even flavor, mix it. Otherwise it'll be super sour on top and real blueberry sweet/sour on the bottom. Unless that's what you want.

Just had a Bells Christmas and although I liked it, it was pretty plain. That's not always bad, but usually special releases have more kick.
 
Enjoying some Fat Tire. Noticed that there's going to be a "Brewmasters" show on Discovery Channel tonight (9pm CST / also at Midnight CST)

 
Finally made the trek to Alpine today. Was a lot closer than I thought. I'll be back soon. Growler prices are so cheap.

Had:

Willy Vanilly: Their wheat "Willy" brewed with vanilla. Very vanilla which I generally like. This would be fantastic with pancakes or french toast.

Irish Red: Have had this before. Thought it would go good with my lunch. Not my favorite of theirs, but solid.

Great '09: Their Barley Wine "Good", bourbon barrel aged. Super bourbon, yet super smooth.

Cez Monmee: Cherry Sour. Fantastic. Touch of sweet, very tart. Got better with each sip.

Ugly: This was cool. We were about to get the check and they hauled this keg in. Never been tapped before. First batch. Black IPA. A friend of mine hauled it in so poured me some. Amazing beer. Super hoppy on the nose. It is black, but it does';t taste like it. Just a hint of roast. Lets the hops do the work. Best black IPA I've ever had. Made it my growler fill.

Afterward got a little tour of the tiny place. Crazy how small it really is. Great people working there.

Pleasantly surprised to see they were selling bottles of "Ichabod" A sour with pumpkin, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Heard very good things. Grabbed a bunch of bottles. Got one for you if you want it, Task.
