Stopped by the beer shop today and picked up a few of the beers I've seen mentioned here that I've never tried:Stone Levitation AleLagunitas IPATwo Hearted AleVictory Hop WallopYards Philly Pale
Good choices- especially the 2 Hearted and Hop Wallop.
Agreed. Two Hearted is just awesome. Hop Wallop is exactly that.

Tonight was some Two Brothers Bitter End which is a pale ale on the lighter side and some Oberon. Now I am wrapping up the night with a bomber of Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow. Amazing beer.

Have an Arctic Panzer Wolf and a Blackheart in the fridge too. I am definitely going out and getting more Cow though. Impressive.

Had Two Hearted last night. It's a great beer, but I'm not sure it's really for me. I had been drinking alot by that point and had recently eaten, so I'm not sure how that affected my perception of it. Anyway, it seemed a bit too sweet for me at the time. I preferred the Smuttynose IPA from earlier in the day. Great taste, but probably not my kind of IPA, at this point.

How was the Lagunitas? Was it the Maximus? Not sure what's available in your area but if you have Founders Centennial IPA (or even their Red's Rye PA) or Bitter Woman or Scurvy from Tyranena, give those a shot.

Haven't tried the Lagunitas yet (it's not Maximus). Fridge is a little loaded with SNPA, Torpedo and Smuttynose right now, so I'm trying to space those beers from the beer shop out. I'll look for those others. I suspect the little beer shop might have a couple of those. They seem to have a pretty wide selection, even though it's tiny (they literally turned the back office of a pizza joint into a beer shop).Speaking of Rye Pale, I saw they had some, but I've never even heard of them. How do they compare to American PA's and IPA's?

 :jealous:I love the Galaxy and the other couple beers I've had from Farmstead. Let me know how the Flora is. Been ISO that one. Also curious how the Evverett stacks up.

Fat Tire followed by a bomber of Smuttynose Wheat Wine. Interesting beer, barleywine mix with wheat beer. Has a very barleywine feel to it but doesn't finish as strong. 10.7% ABV is kicking my ### right now.

Love me a good wheatwine. Bell's Wheat Love is teats

Feels weird to buy Dos Equis now, like I was "roped in" by their marketing campaign.

Beer is still damn good though. :tipsy:

Had a New Glarus product named "Two Women" last night. Smooth, but not really a summer brew.Five beers in I told my wife she could tell her friends she came home and caught me red handed with Two Women. She didn't laugh.
At least she didn't catch you with their "Naked Man"! I was in Cedarburg, WI a couple of times this year and picked up 4 different New Glarus brews: The fore mentioned Naked Man, Spotted Cow, Fat Squirrel, and Dancing Man Whet - all pretty decent.

Tried the Lagunitas. Way too much grapefruitiness for me. Kind of disappointed that the 2 I was most excited to try (Two Hearted and Lagunitas) both turned out to have a bit too much fruitiness for my liking.Had the Yards' Philly PA. I really like it. Not quite as much as SNPA, but it's nice. Nice hoppy bite and not much else (which is what I seem to like). Very refreshing beer. Almost goes down too easy.At 4.6% ABV, it'd be a nice cookout beer (if I could find it for less than $2 a bottle).

Surprised you drink their beer. Mostly liberals make craft beer in Wisconsin.

Isn't it called Totally Naked? Basically an expensive lager.

Just finished an Oberon and onto a Wacko. Depending on how things go, I may crack open another one of these later or move onto the Chimay Red that is chilling in the fridge right now

Brother's homebrew ipa, 6 day old Pliny, Rose De Gambrinus, homebrew that was suppose to.be an imperial stout I brewed with my brother in march. Weighing in at 15% I've, for now, dubbed it a roasted barely wine. It hot, it isn't very carbonated, but I like it.

Then more beers!!!!

Frankenmuth Batch 69

Surly Furious

Picking up my allotment of 6 bottles of Blushing Monk in the morning. Never tried this before looking forward to trying this.

My dad is in Fort Collins and offered to send me some beer. I can get Oskar Blues and New Belgium - looking for some good recommendations for something he could get from that area that I would not be able to find here in the midwest.drinking a Bell's Consecrator tonight - part of my father's day bounty.
Great DivideOdell'sBrekenridgeOaked Yeti from Great Divide (and regualar yeti) are greatCan't speak too much on the others except the Odell 750ml special releases I've had are very good.
He sent me a 12 pack of Odell's - 3 each of 90 Shilling, IPA, Porter and Lupulin. They're all good, but none of the really cool special stuff. I had some Rogue Dead Guy tonight - good malty beer.

in Ettlingen the past few days. Der Vogel is a small microbrewery here. they don't even bottle. might be the finest german beer i've ever had. of course all the beer here is :banned:

Young's Old Nick Barley Wine.

The nose gave me over ripe apricots.

:banned:

Starts out toasty with a weak bitter after taste, but as my tastebuds acclimated it just got sweeter and maltier. Nice beer. Coffee colored. Thick tan head settles to a lacy fizz that rebuilds with each taste keeping it creamy.

Smutty Nose Old Brown Dog Ale, and snifters of Grand Marnier. Good beer, but at 10.99 a sixer, I'd just as soon have a Newcastle at 8.99 a sixer.

Newcastle was my gateway beer. Always have a soft spot for that one.
It has a quality all its own, very much like Sam Adams Boston Lager. My two favorites, but I always like experimenting. Like Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and Anchor Steam for their uniqueness as well.
