What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Four Powers and ice and another four or five Jameson and ice at the bar. All doubles. Yep. Still drunk. Dropped off the obligatory Hummer-driving, Repbulican voting, fake-boobed divorcee a couple hours ago so that she could run a swim meet. I ####### hate the suburbs.

Ketel one and I were happy together down in Georgetown last night checking out the scenery, AJ.
Sounds nice. My buddy used to run the Tombs. Haven't hung out in Georgetown since then...probably 15 years ago. My first time in a bar? Poseurs, which was on the corner of M and 34th, a block from the Exorcist steps. I was 14 years old. It's like a shoe store or something now. Spent many hours flipping through records at Smash Records, too.

Beautiful night. I remember all of those places. Remember the Slickee Boys? We used to come in over the Key Bridge from Virginia, hit Dixie Liquor, grab a ton of Mickey's Big Mouth and then head down by Chadwicks and the water to frontload before hitting the bars. High school in DC in the 80s...

Yes to all of this. Just drove down Water Street the other day and saw that The Bayou is gone.

Collage -Not bad

Ruination 10th Anny -Awesome

Blue Dot -Eh

Nelson -Incredible as always
Just had this as well, and agreed, it was awesome. I'll be having a Pliny the Elder later this evening and concluding with maybe a Stone Ruination 12 oz. bottle or three.

How's the Thirteen? I still have the one you sent me on deck in the fridge :bag:
It's great. I'd drink it soon so you enjoy the hops that are in there. Great for a hot day.

Has anyone tried the Dogfish Head Positive Contact yet? One my locals has it available, not sure of the price.

Dogfish Head, which prides itself on "off-centered ales for off-centered people" is releasing its newest beer on June 18:Positive Contact. This isn't just any beer though. This is a "house party in a box," according to Dogfish Head's Sam Calagione. That means that with a six-pack of the 750mL beer, you also get a vinyl record with tunes from Deltron 3030, and five beer-inspired recipes from the likes of Mario Batali, David Chang and more.

The ale is brewed with Fuji apple cider, farro, cayenne and fresh cilantro. It was a big hit at Huffington Post HQ, thanks to it's balanced sweetness level and mild herbal undertones. Its nine percent ABV does hit you though -- this is most definitely not a chugging beer.

To understand how Dogfish Head comes up with its funky brews, make sure to check out the week-in-the-life diary of the company's lead brewer, Ben Potts. To learn more about Positive Contact specifically, check out this clip below (remixed by Deltron 3030, natch) and the comic that explains how this beer came about.

Anyone here tried Ballast Point's vodka?
I don't like vodka, but I've loved all the other Ballast spirits. Their Bloody Mary mix is by far the best bottled mix on the market,
I'm trying some of their Barrel Aged Three Sheets Rum right now. I tried it straight, and I appreciate the deep and complex flavor, but it's got quite a burn to it and I'm really not much of a rum drinker to begin with. So now I'm sipping it with cola. It's probably a waste of good rum to do that, but I like it.

Bought a Sam Adams variety 12-pack. I usually don't like these because they stick you with one clunker. This one looked different:

IPA Hop-ology -

Dark Depths

White Water

Third Voyage

Grumpy Monk

Latitude 48 - (only one I've had before)

Tasman Red

Brux.

Russian river and Sierra Nevada collaboration. Wasn't cheap, $17 for a growler. Belgium style with Sierra hoppyness the label says.

My opinion: it's a sour Belgium. Disappointed. Gimme two Bottleworks/Stone 13s for the price.

Stone oak aged Arrogant ******* now available in 6 packs :banned:

Just had a Red Tail Ale with my burger
 Bought a six of Red Tail Ale this afternoon. Local farmers market that we only usually get fruits and vegetables has a decent selection of a few beers I don't normally see around here.

Stone is killing it right now. The Ruination 10th Anny is awesome. The Smoked Porter with Vanilla Bean is awesome (and love that it is in 12oz bottles) and the Saison Du Buff is my favorite saison.

Having a hundred folks over for our 10th anniversary this month. Strongly thinking I'm going with a keg of Ruination and a Keg of the local Firestone 805 (the "lighter fare") to go with the rest of the local wines and SM BBQ.You are right, Stone is killing it right now! :woot:Brother Thelonius, North Coast Brewery, is an excellent Belgium-style ale.

Had a growler of DDH Stone IPA on 4th of July and growler of Ruination over the weekend.

Last night, Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye. I really enjoyed it.
