What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (2 Viewers)

Pliny the Younger last night followed by the elder and then 90 minute IPA.Just finished Russian River Supplication. This was incredible. I'm still trying to decipher what the hell it was, but I loved it.
As close to perfection as Pliny is for it's style, Supplication is the far better beer for me. I'm no fan of bitter hops and seek smooth sweet malts. That's usually found in any "ation" named beer. Thus, it was my expectation of Supplication. Wrong, it's a sour American Wild beer and it is amazing. Knocked my socks off. :banned:  :banned:

You and me both. I actually am a fan of bitter hops, but Supplication was about as good a beer as I have ever had. It was a game changer for me. In my beerdom, I haven't stopped thinking about it since I drank it on Saturday. I'm thinking of going out and getting another $12 bottle of it this week.

Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. It's funny up until a few month ago I couldn't stand stouts. Now that's all I drink. Weird how tastes change.

Mission 2013 Anniversary Ale sold at TJ's for $2.99 for 22 oz, 8.5% abv. I think it's a brown ale. Pretty damn good whatever it is.

This is brewed by Firestone Walker. Great value. TJ's also sells a tripel brewed by Unibroue that is similarly generically branded. Its essentially La Fin du Monde at half the price or less.`

thanks for the tips on Wisconsin brews. Wound up picking up a 6er of New Glarus mix and match with many of the beer mentioned, a big bottle of Serendipity and the last 4 pack they had of the Lupilin Maximus. Got these at the Mars Cheese Castle (didn't want to stop but it was required by law). I had the Spotted Cow at the BBQ restaurant and that was a great beer to have while stuffing my face with ribs and cornbread. Looking forward to trying these beers this weekend (or tonight if I get snowed in here).

Huahnapu Day is this weekend in Tampa. It sounds like a cool event but unfortunately I already rsvp'd to take my kid to another 1yos bday. They apparently have a ton of unique beers on tap.

I'm currently working on a beer trade with a friend from Pennsylvania to get some Troegs Nugget Nectar in exchange for some Colorado beers. Does anyone have any recommendations of any interesting PA beers that would be available now? I tend to like big imperial IPAs and imperial stouts, but am open to other styles as well.

I'm familiar with the full Troegs collection, and I can get the popular Victory beers out here. Any good seasonal releases out from Victory, Stoudt's, Weyerbacher, or any other PA brewery? Has anyone had the new Victory White Monkey?

Thanks!

Just had the Troegs Perpetual IPA the other day. Good stuff.

Troeg's Perpetual is great.

Victory Hop Wallop is a double IPA that is absolutely one of my favorite beers, though you may have already had that. They also have the Ranch DIPA, which is relatively new and I think pretty good.

I don't know how much bottling they do, but Springhouse is my favorite new Eastern PA brewery. Their "pale ale" is good (it's like 8%) and their Satan's Bake Sale Mint Stout is tremendous.

Another one that doesn't seem to bottle much is Dock Street, but their Rye IPA is one of my favorites as well.

Drinking Hoponious Union from Jack's Abbey near Boston.

It is an India Pale Lager, a style they supposedly invented. I think that it is really, really good.

Heading to a chinese poker game, drink of choice tonight is colt 45 grape blast - because it was a dollar for 24oz.

Its got that real flinstones vitamins flavor, so you know its good.

Had it last year and was unimpressed mostly due to the hype. There was some discussion about it being bad last year and that makes sense. Just seeing if it is ok this year.

Ok, gotcha. Sounded like you had never tried before. I have really enjoyed the CW beers I have had. However, it isn't available in Michigan. I would love to try it as I have heard some great reviews. However, the news of the bad batch is news to me.

If the guy is in Philly, ask for some Russian River....unless you can get it where you are...

The 2013 Peruvian Morning is great, after a bad year when many batches were infected/sour. Had some CW Bourbon Barrel Stout, Stillwater As Follows Strong Ale and some Alchemy Hour, all on tap last night.

Where is Nelson on tap? Newport Pizza? Harp?
That was a bottle. I go out to Alpine at least twice a month to load up. The only local place that ever has them on tap is The Harp, but that has gotten less and less frequent, unfortunately.
