Blue Point White IPA - if you get a chance to have this on tap, it's awesome. It comes in cans too but that is not even comparable to what you get on tap.

I made a white IPA a couple of months ago - bittering with Centennial and aroma/flavoring Citra and dry hopped with centennia and citra. I am only making 2 gallons and used 5 oz citra. It was really good and everyone loved it. I have another batch in process noe.

 
Sorry if this is a Honda, but I read this today and it depressed me. I know craft beers are the way to go or home brew even better, but I'm a man that's really enjoyed some American crap beers in my life. Maybe way many more than I should have on numerous occasions. If this article is true, I am going to die very early in life because these things are full of bad stuff. :(

This is entirely true. Corn and rice are very common "adjuncts" used by BMC* and the like. They are cheaper than the product they replace (corn replacing barley, for example).

Food coloring is used as well, on occasion. My understanding (not looking it up, but from what I've heard) is that Killian's Irish Red, for example, uses a lot of red food coloring to achieve the red color. Not surprising, I suppose, that Newcastle uses food coloring as well, though I didn't know that.

That said, that article seems a little too sensationalized for me.

Note to fancy steakhouse: Founders Reds Rye on tap is appreciated, but please don't let your bartenders serve Chimay Blue to me in a frosted pint glass.

That is really dumb. It's a baby eating oatmeal/cereal. It's not like the baby is drinking beer. Who spends their time coming up with something like this?

Finally got some Flipside IPA. Meh...keep it.

Found a Stone Coconut IPA. I wasn't really expecting much because I couldn't imagine these flavors together but it was damn good.

Found a twelver of 2013 Beer Camp for $12 so I figured why not. Right now have theImperial Red Ale and it's pretty good. The Belgian Black IPA was much better than I expected.The IPA with citra was completely lacking.

Speaking of imperial reds, not happy with Lagunitas for shelving it this year.

 
Had an 07 Mariage Parfait last night. The cork had molded a little bit a few months ago, but I had taken care of it with some rubbing alcohol. Beer was still fine. :thumbup:

Also picked up a sixer of Sculpin and a 4-pack of Nosferatu last night.

Almost reached for Founders Breakfast Stout over the Sculpin, but both were $10.49. $10.49 for 6 Sculpin or 4 Breakfast Stout. I couldn't pass up the Sculpin.

 
had a couple of Sierra Nevada Pale Ales on tap during dinner tonight. First time in about 10 years having that , forgot how good it is

Wife picked up a couple of things without my consent that I'm going through during football then then Breaking Bad later

6 pack of Wild Blue Blueberry Lager (8% ABV). Not my thing. I'll get through it, but it's a little rough.

Went to Lagunitas Brewery on Sat night. I had Hop Stoopid (3x) and Lucky 13 (1x). Took the wife and kids, and met up with another family. It was good time. Nice that it was kid-friendly. No dirty looks from anyone.

By far the most laid back brewery I have been to. Nice people.

They are very liberal with their tastings.

The first Tuesday of every month, Lagunitas does "industry night". Apparently, they do free tastings 4:20-7:20p for industry-folk. As a part time employee of Trader Joes, I'm considered someone in the industry. I haven't had a chance to go yet, but tomorrow might be the night.
