Stone 12/12/12 Vertical Epic. Lots of spices. Loved it.

Saw the SN Beer Camp 12 pack at the store, many of the same breweries in Steve's post, not sure if same beers or not. Will pick it up this weekend and give it a shot.

Hitting the New Belgium Rampant tonight

Going to an SD beerfest tomorrow. While I do hit the microbrews in the area I don't consider myself an expert by any means. The list below are ones where I've tried 2 or fewer selections in the past. Any specific recommendations from these places I should look for? I plan to do 10 samples:

Green Flash Brewing Company, Mike Hess Brewing, Breakwater Brewing Co., Rip Current Brewing, Port Brewing Company, The Lost Abbey, Culture Brewing Co, Rough Draft Brewing Company, Golden Coast Mead, Oceanside Ale Works, Helm’s Brewing Co., Legacy Brewing Co., Aztec Brewing Company, Groundswell Brewing Company, Barrel Harbor Brewing, Monkey Paw Brewing Company, Coronado Brewing Company, Pizza Port, Twisted Manzanita Ales

Green Flash Brewing Company, You have to know these guys, no?

Mike Hess Brewing, These guys are getting better. Iike most of their non-core beers. Their stout is good too.

Breakwater Brewing Co. Not Familiar

Rip Current Brewing, Semi new kids on the bock. Drink whatever they have. They are awesome.

Port Brewing Company, See Green Flash comments.

The Lost Abbey, Sister to Port (same building and brewers) focus more on Belgian stuff. If they bring a barrel aged beer try it. If that is your thing. Their sours especially.

Culture Brewing Co,I've only tried them once and was impressed. I think.

Rough Draft Brewing Company, Underrated local guys. Worth a shot.

Golden Coast Mead, It's Mead! Do you like Mead? If you do, they will get you wasted.

Oceanside Ale Works, Meh

Helm’s Brewing Co., Meh

Legacy Brewing Co., Not familiar

Aztec Brewing Company, Avoid

Groundswell Brewing Company, Avoid

Barrel Harbor Brewing, Like the two beers I had from them

Monkey Paw Brewing Company, Kicking major ### since they switched brewers. Try them all.

Coronado Brewing Company, Have really turned the corner since they opened their new facility. Highly recommend.

Pizza Port, TRY EVERYTHING! ####### love these guys. Different brewers and beers at each of their 5 locations, so can vary, but they are favorites of mine. Especially anything hoppy they do.

Twisted Manzanita Ales Have gotten better. Maybe if you're still thirsty

Anyone had either of these? Going to a bar tonight with few selections, but includes these. Both bottles, I assume.

(22oz., 6.7%) bready, grass, well balanced
 
Stopped in to Barley Mow brewing in St Pete...tried the grapefruit pale ale, choc raspberry stout, tart cherry something, and s'mores stout.

Surprisingly, I liked the 2 non stouts better than the stouts. Not enough chocolate or raspberry in the one, and the s'mores was underwhelming...the mini marshmallows on top were a nice touch, though.

Yeah, this is definitely the best of the 3. Also liked the Yokel I had 2 nights ago quite a bit. Had never heard of this brewery until last week (I don't frequent this thread much...I tend to smoke more than I drink) but they're definitely not too shabby. Might be worth a couple trips to Wisconsin every now and then.

 
I went to the Beer Camp Across America beer festival last night in Civic Center Park, Denver. It was an awesome time with a lot of phenomenal beer. I had way too many beers to recount everything, but some of the all-stars included:

Russian River Pliny the Elder

Russian River Supplication

Firestone Walker Sucaba

Cigar City Jai Alai

Ballast Point Sculpin IPA

Ballast Point Victory at Sea

There were lots of great local Colorado stuff as well.

I got to hang out with Ken Grossman, the founder of Sierra Nevada and one of the godfathers of American craft beer for awhile. He was really cool and was just pouring beer at one of Sierra Nevada's secondary low key tents. It was an awesome experience.

I highly recommend that you Chicago folks get a ticket for tomorrow night's Beer Camp festival.

Had Lagunitas Nighttime Ale last night. It was pretty good. Still some citrus notes, despite the roastiness.
