What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

Growler of Community Beer Works Beer Week IPA

It's their IPA with additional Citra and maybe some other hops. I can't remember the exact hop profile of the regular IPA but it's Galaxy and I want to say Centennial and something else. Their IPA itself is a top 5 beer for me...so this is just great. Talked to the guy at the brewery and he says they can't afford to make this beer year-round because it's so expensive. Delicious though

It's officially Buffalo Beer Week. I am a little underwhelmed at the events but the beers popping up are great. Community Beer Works usually has ~5 beers on for growler fills, and they had 10, I think, yesterday for the event. Their basic 4, plus this "extra-hopped" IPA, a collaboration coffee porter (I got a 1/2 growler of that), a cream ale, a Calypso single hop IPA, and the kegs had already kicked of their 2013 Imperial Stout winter seasonal and their bourbon barrel rye brown ale with cherries (sad I missed this one, I wanted a growler of it).

I know no one in here has heard of this brewery except for me (and I post about it a lot), because they have no distribution....growler fills only and on tap at a number of local places.....but it is an exceptional brewery. Truly world class. I've had a lot of beer and I don't use those terms lightly. If you're ever in Western New York, do your best to seek out some of their stuff....you won't be disappointed.

At Tri City Brewery in Bay City having a Flight of the Hefe, Intergalactic Jack APA, Charity Island IPA, Cedarella IPA and Oktoberfest.

Impressed with a couple of them...love the Intergalactic APA, the Galaxy hops really shine.

Just put my rye ipa into secondary. Added some Chinook and centennial. Will add some citra Wednesday and keg it this weekend.

Also picked up a "thunder from down under" ipa kit that uses Aussie and new Zealand hops: Nelson, topaz,Pacific jade and galaxy.

Where about in Chicago are you? I think I may have to wander on over your way once this is done.......

I recently moved and found a bunch of back of fridge stuff (I had 2 full size fridges full of beer in the garage, a mini fridge next to the couch, and the entire bottom shelf of the main kitchen fridge was for my beer only).

Drinking a year old Green Flash Hop Head Red. It is actually very nice. Bitterness is gone. A good malt forward red. I like it fresh too, but I think I like this better. More accessible, less mood specific.

3 beers all on tap

Jacks Abby Cooper Legend-JAs Octoberfest offering. Really smooth but not in my top 5 Octs. Was kind of disappointed , usually love anything JA

Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest- spot on marzen , good stuff

Goose Island Matilda-1st time having this. I really like it , a lot. Nice way to end the night

Need to find someone in CA I can trade with to get some Pliny and Blind Pig....
:oldunsure:
I'll pay you for RR or Alpine beers any day of the week
Hijacked!
My move left me with less space, so I do have some 6 pack shippers to get rid of. I think I have 2. I'll fill them for you guys for cash/paypal. I don't think I should be taking any more beer in. I wouldn't turn down anything super cool I've never tried though.

3 core Alpine IPAs, Pliny…. There is a Blind Pig shortage. They stopped sending bottles down here. Just kegs. There are other great locals that I can fill those 2 slots with. Mother Earth Boo Koo is great. Kern River Just Outstanding is wonderful when it is around.

I'll try to round them up this week to get these boxes out of here.

I don't trade anymore but I am always looking to buy beer and don't mind paying shipping and such for good stuff. You've sent me plenty of Alpine back in the day so I know it's good stuff....I trust your judgement. Let me know what $$ I'm looking at for beers + shipping + a little extra for you....you've got my number....

Friend's B-Day. Bunch of people there, but no one else there was really into beer so we split these just the two of us.

Beachwood Ultrahop 2000 -####### fantastic

Bourbon County 2008 (it was a twist top!)

Cantillon Bio Kriek 2013

Alpine Barrel Aged Odin's Raven

Cantillon Iris 2008 (WOW)

Doesn;t seem like that much. Way is it so late and why am I so drunk?

Didn't have time to find MI beers like I thought I would...nobody was allowing mixed six packs, so I ended with a six of Odd Sides Citra (meh), Green Flash Citra IPA (meh), some Huma Lupa (good) and had a couple of Founders All Day IPAs. Other than that met friends at dive bars with no good beers so drank some Bud Lights (ugh).

Gonna finish the Humas later and head home tomorrow. Oh well, I can always do some trades.

Couldn't find Founders Dark Penance? That's on my short list right now.

Didn't notice it, was a little overwhelmed with choices.
