What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (1 Viewer)

Have any of you guys tried any of the meads that are all the new rage? I tried one of the CCB ones and it was terrible. Maybe it is an acquired taste?
I have to be in exactly the right mood to enjoy a mead, and I can only do one glass.

Not a fan. I've tried 3 or 4 of the B Nektar ones some local breweries have and they do nothing for me. Too wine-like.

Some oldies but goodies:

Mackeson Stout (wife had it open already, but whos arguing?)

then will have S Smiths Pale Ale

If needed ill make it a beer Sammich and have S Smiths Oatmeal Stout

I don't frequent this thread but I wanted to plug Due South Brewery in Boynton Beach Fla. It's about a 5 minute drive to te brewery for me and they have a phenominal brew house attached to it. Lots of cool beer loving folks work there, just great people.

I need to go to Madison wi tmorrow. Any you cheese heads have beer picks? I'm not big on sour or fruit beers, but hoppy IPAs or Belgian styles are up my alley. I won't have time for bars or breweries, just liquor store.

See if you can find some Scream IIPA from New Glarus. Hmm...sounds like a good idea actually.

Also, they sell Alesmith IPA up there and it's not in IL if that's where you are from. I make sure to try and get some of this any time I run into it. If you are lucky...very lucky...you might run into some Toppling Goliath but odds are you won't. If you do, load up on Pseudo Sue. Send me 2, thanks.

I like meads but can't drink too much of them. Tough to find a good one around here but they have some B Nektar ones on tap at a local place fairly regularly. To be honest, though, I only rarely order them....too much good beer to pass up...

No beer for me til Friday...working tonight thru Thursday night...y'all hold down the fort. TIA.
Ahem...good thing my schedule is flexible...decided to take tonight off and work Fri night instead...once I bottled my beer I decided to celebrate. :banned:
Can't argue with you there. I have a lot of flexibility too in that I can work from home.

Kegged my rye IPA with citra tonight so I am in the same boat. Going to have a Heyoka.

That said, it's going to be a calm night.

Yeah I had a couple of Time Bombs and a Crowler of Crank...that's it for me tonight. About to finish up making a batch of White House Honey Ale...the boil is almost done...

I've had a few rye IPAs, I'm a fan of the style. Hope it turns out good!

That's a late start for a brew.

Not for me...I go to bed between 5 and 6am every day and get up around noon. I might be part vampire.

Pipeworks Citra imperial IPA

Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break Bourbon Barrel Aged stout

Cigar City Happening Now session IPA

Upslope Pumpkin Ale

Kern River just outstanding x2
Nice score. That stuff is damn good.

ETA: just remembered you're in SoCal. Where did you end up? Find this on tap, or bottles?
Was only there overnight Mon, back to east coast on Tuesday. Brought a couple bottles home. No place good for beer Mon night, had someone with me who ended up picking. Thanks for remembering!

Also have a bottle of Modern Times Phalanx. Can't wait to try. The hops description is mouth watering

At Three Palms brewing in Tampa trying some new beers...right now Im having a Starry Weiss, a Berliner brewed with star fruit...its delicious.

Also pre bought 2 bombers of Skippin' it Jiffy Peanut Butter Stout being released next week and got a bomber of their Palmkin Pumpkin beer and tried it on nitro...it has the most amazing smell of any pumpkin beer I've had. Really good stuff. Very smooth, with subtle and not overpowering spice.

My last Time Bomb IPA from 7venth Sun.

Ditka, if we ever do another trade I'm gonna send you some of this, I think you'd love it.

Toronado announced this morning that they got a keg of Russian River Framboise for a Cure. God's excuse to head over there for lunch. Started with a Pure Hoppiness and a club sandwich. Then 2 framboises. On to the soccer bar for Donovan's farewell led to 2 Duets and a Hop 15. Now drinking a Societe Publican.

Went with the Pipeworks Simcoe IIPA.

Wow. Another huge PW beer, very tasty, feels bigger than 8.5%. Haven't had a bad one from them yet.

Must. Try. More. Pipeworks. Beers.

Just bought a strange one from them Cinnamon Beer-D Os, will crack it shortly but am a bit hesitant. Also, bought some Stone Unapologetic IPA. So good.

This beer is goooood. I really want to try their Mosaic IIPA.
I have one. And that Cinnamon Beer-D Os is pretty tasty, a cream ale but it tastes and feels more like a stout. It's pretty damn good.
Didn't they brew it with cinnamon toast crunch or something like that?
Inspired by a cinnamon cereal's left over sweet milk. And it has a lot of lactose, very surprised I like it, but I do.
