What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

All we get are the IPA and Arrogant *******.  I like both.  In retrospect, I probably should have gotten the *******.  I've been pretty hopped up lately.  Still, it's not like you can really make a BAD choice between those two.
Yeah, the Arrogant ******* is one of my favorites. I at least have the option of driving an hour and picking some up, which I do every few months. The IPA is one of the better IPA's that I have ever had, and I can't get it across the border. I want to do a flight of IPA's with my friends that would include Stone, Titan IPA, Victory IPA, aomngst others.
Have any of you got to try Stone's Ruination? It is aptly named . . .

I've heard that. It's probably #1 on my list of US beers that I'd like to get my hands on. All I've had are the *******, IPA, and Vertical Epic.

Then, I think I'm going to drink one of my last few Anchor Christmas Ales. They were just okay in my opinion and were nowhere near as good as Celebration Ale, the other seasonal I bought at the same time.
:goodposting: Anchor Xmas is the seasonal that I most look forward to every year.

Seemed on the dull side this year . . .

We've got a local liquor store that sells bombers of it.Can't do it right now, but maybe we could work a trade for something in a couple of months.

Can you get DFH?

Sierra Nevada Porter now. I really enjoy this roasted thing. Real Ale makes a Shade Grown Coffee Porter that is to die for.

Fine. I guess. Maybe I've killed off the taste buds. I love big hoppy beers. The one that probably does the most damage to my palette is hop wallop.

I can do it now. I've got two bombers in my fridge and a virtually unlimited supply two blocks away from my home.Bentley, have you had any of the Bear Republic beers? Racer 5, Hop Rod Rye, etc?

Im not sure, but I think this thread has legs.
 I have since had a Lagunitas Brown Sugga, again from FatMax. A really great strong ale, with wonderful sweetness balanced by just a hint of hop bitterness. Now I just popped the top on a DFH90. I'm livin' large.
Glad you liked it. I've found that many people either like it or hate it. Did the mouthfeel remind you of the Big Hoppy Monster?

Only Racer 5. I don't even know if we get it here. I may have gotten ahold of one from a buddy.

Well, I'm drinking a Victory Hop Wallop, courtesy of Mr. Trout. Very good DIPA sporting a hop profile that is unique to Victory. Never tasted something like this before. Wish I could get this in California.

And Wingnut sent me some DFH 90s, so I'll probably have one of those after the Wallop. Thanks Wingnut and Kilgore, it has been a pleasure trading with you guys.

If you're ever interested in hooking up a trade for any Stone or Bear Republic, let me know. BR has four beers in the top 100 on beer advocate. Fantastic brewery.

Celebrator, cask conditoned IPA and a draft Bigfoot barleywine. Had to start early cuz i gotta go in to work at 1am. :(

Currently trying Hacker-Pschorr Hefe Weisse for the 1st time. I'm liking it.

Really creamy. I never would have thought banana flavours satisfying in a beer.

Today I made a stop at the Liquor Store today to pick up something new.

Came back with Hacker-Pschorr, Schneider Adventinus, Chimay White, and best of all a 5-bottle St. Bernardus gift pack:

Pater 6, Prior 8, Abt 12, Tripel, and Watou Tripel

I was half-giddy and smiling on my way out - I think the cashier thought I was diggin' her!

Picked up Lone Star here in NJ - yeah, I know that it is NO WHERE near the class you guys are drinking, but I needed the bottle for the collection.

Trying something new:

G. Schneider & Sohn

Aventinus

(wheat doppelbock)

Too much fruits and way too much clove taste.
tried two others tonight:G. Schneider & Sohn, Schneider Weisse (Hefe-Weizen Ale) - (way too much yeast)

Weyerbacher HERESY (imperial stout aged in oak barrels) -  Really good stout.

curious to hear your thoughts on the Schneider Adventinus...

1 Le Fin du Monde

25 oz. Legend Brewing Co. Barleywine (Richmond, VA) Awesome!!! Great flavor, really full mouthfeel, rich......

1 Troegs Brown Ale

1 Yuengling Lager

Well, I thought about drinking some of the really good stuff in my fridge, but after having a few beers at the bar down the street, I decided to downgrade. I didn't want my buzz to affect really good beer.

So I am trying Kona Brewing Co. Longboard Lager.

It's a hell of a lot better than Budweiser. It contains alcohol. I have no other positive comments to make.

The One And Only Newcastle Brown Ale

:banned:
Tried that for the 1st time ever last night at a bar, and it tasted like a sweet version of skunky Heineken. Must be the clear bottle or something, but it was horrible.

I am about to crack open my lone bottle of

Three Floyd's Dreadnaught IPA

jealous; especially since I just got to work and will be here for a few hours. :kicksrock:
Do whatever you have to to get some. Its that friggin good. When I go to Michigan in June I might drive 2 hours to Indiana and pick up a case.

went to the small grocery store across the street from my apartment and was pleasantly surprised to find a 22oz bottle of Fat Tire Amber Ale hidden in the cooler. I didn't think Fat Tire was available in this part of the country, but apparently they have expanded their distribution area.

On the label, it says:

Spring 2006CHICAGO INAUGURALThe 1st Fat Tire Ale served (legally) in the Second Citypaid $2.99 each for them, which is the same price as a 22oz of Corona or Heineken :excited: :banned:

I only bought 2, but will probably have to go back over and clean them out pretty soon. I don't think they will be very popular at this place, the coolers are stocked full of Natural Light Ice and other similar types of brew.

Keep buying them and they'll have no choice but to order more. Even better, just call the distributor and eliminate the middle man. :banned:

Little known but much loved (by me at least) Ithaca Brewing Co. Cascazilla - hoppy red IPA. REALLY great hop attack on this one. That brewery is improving steadily - and they were pretty good to start with. :banned:

I had this beer in Kauia last weekend. IT was the only thing close to a micro they had there. I had to say it was decent and I enjoyed them after a long day on the island hiking and swimming but like yu said its nothing to get excited over.Tonights selsctions:

22oz Aragant ******* Ale

12oz El Torro IPA

Since I'm officially out of 'new' beer to sample (thanks again Kilgore), I just popped open a bomber of Ruination. Damn, this #### is good. It's not as well balanced as DFH 90 (it lacks the sweet malt backbone), but I'll be damned if I could tell you which DIPA I like more. If forced at gunpoint, I'd probably say Ruination, but that may only be because I'm drinking one right now.

I've never seen it. Ever. It only has 25 reviews on BA, so it probably isn't well distrubuted. I'd like to, however. I can hook you up with some Sac locals, though I can't promise they'll be as good.

No love for the Schneider Weisse? I always list that as one of my three favorite hefes (with Paulaner and Live Oak) even though I haven't had it in a couple years. Maybe I need to re-sample.

No need to resample. It's still awesome. Actually, if you haven't had it a couple of years you're overdue.Just got home from another 15 hour workday. Since I'm used to working like 4 hour days, this #### is getting old. So I'm heading right to the hard stuff. Bigfoot!! Not as good as the aged on draft I had the other day, but it's hitting the spot. :banned:

Will do. It was 80 degrees here, so it's about time for me to move back into the Belgians and the hefes anyhow.

80? 36 right now. but it's supposed to get up near 70 Thursday. Might be a good day to try to burn some comp time.
