Had a SN Summerfest last night after cutting grass. Decent lager, but just not what I'm into most of the time. I'll probably throw the rest of these in the cooler for guests at my son's first birthday party on Saturday along with a few Yuengling I picked up in Florida, maybe some Dale's Pale Ale, and all the High Life left in the fridge. I'm sure most will choose the Champagne of Beers.

I've got three 22oz's hoarded I had been looking for the beer for over ten years when it finally appeared at my beer store. Bought one, drank it...fell head over heals in love. Bought six more. I'm sure I can arrange a bottle your way....

I just checked out Alaskan Brewing's website, and it says it is brewed in the fall (but the writeup amy be old). Its actually an interesting story, and it has a connection to smoked fish.Alaskan Smoked Porter Story

The first beer I would reach for is the St. Bernardus Abt 12. Never had it on tap. I bet it is good. I don't know if you're a hop-head or not, but Hop Rod Rye is an excellent IPA too.

Beers on draft I would try:

Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye 7.5% abv, 90+ IBU (A hop bomb, much hoppier than the beer we had at the Mellow Mushroom, with a silky mouthfeel from the Rye)

Cantillon Cuvée Des Champions 5% abv (A gueze, which is an aged blended lambic. Very sour in taste, and will be unlike any beer you have tried)

Cantillon Rosé de Gambrinus 5% abv (Another lambic. I haven't tried it but I am a fan of the sour beers.)

St. Bernardus abt 12 10% (My favorite Belgian beer. It is a strong dark ale, with typical Belgain spiceness)

Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale 9.6% abv, 90 IBU (If you haven't had a Barleywine, this is a good place to start. Sweet, yet really hoppy with a strong alcohol bite)

Ettaler Curator Doppelbock 9% abv

(I'm a big fan of a good Dopplebocks with their dark and malty sweet flavors. Haven't tried this particular one)

No i went to college in Denver. My best friends older brother went to school in Boulder and his buddy started Avery. I've met the guy. I've survived on avery, left hand, silver plume, great divide in college.

I just found out that two of my favorite craft breweries from the mid 90's are gone.

Silver Plume - they made a rasberry porter that was the only fruit beer I've ever claimed to like

El Dorado Canyon - Blackwidow Stout. The best stout going in the mid 90's. Very small batches. Very hard to find.

See, I wouldn't go and do a thing like that. I have had the Snoqualmie porter, but it was a few years ago and I don't remember it as being that good. The brewery is pretty close to where the train runs, correct? I will have to swing back by there when I am up in July.

A little bit of everything. A friend is having a wedding party. Its also my second home, as my brother and a ton of aunts, uncles, and cousins will be up there. We're going to see Pearl Jam at the Gorge, and later in the week we will be hitting the Oregon Brewers Festival in Portland. In between time we will visit some family.I certainly will try to revisit the Snoqualmie brewery while I am out there, as my memory is sometimes fuzzy over what beers are good. I'll definitely try to check out their IPA.
