What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (3 Viewers)

About to unleash the Masala Mama growler courtesy of Tip Top. No one to drink it with, so I gotta down 64oz of this badboy tonight. Wish me luck.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Four pints dude, four pints. You can do it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Oh Ill do it. :banned: Good news, the beer wasnt flat at all. Heres the result of my pour.

Great IPA. Very tasty. The hop profile reminds me a bit of SN Celebration. Im only 4 sips into it, so Im sure the taste will change as it warms a bit. So far, thumbs UP!

 First growler Ive ever had my hands on - theyre ILLEGAL in Florida. Yes, I said ILLEGAL.

It IS awesome. Thanks Tip!

Abita Harvest.  It is a strawberry lager they have never bottled before.  It used to be at the Ponchatoula Strawberry Fest every year & that was it.

On ice with a lemon.  Ya'll may think it's a little metro sounding, but me & the staff have killed 3 cases of it since monday.  :banned:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
WTF?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I'm shuked. Ice?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We do things others may think are crazy when we live in a city with near 100% humidity & temps above 90 often. I've already had 3 tonight. :banned: It's like beer iced tea.

HERES a shot of the back of the growler....pretty cool.

Tip, how does it work?? Do they charge you for the Growler AND the beer, then if you bring it back you just get charged for the beer??

Sorry if I sound like a dumb newbie, but Im stuck in communist Florida where were not responsible enough to have growlers allowed.

Oh BULL####!!!!!Florida gets just as humid, if not MORE humid (Its been known to get about 123% humidity here!!!!), and even hotter, and we know better than to put ice in our beer. :P

I think all those cajun and creole spices have done permanent damage to your brain.

;)

Speaking of good food, howz about overnight mailing me a few Central Grocery Mufalattas???

I'm from florida & you are full of #$%&. FLORIDA HAS A BREEZE ALL SUMMER. Our only breeze comes when we are about to get flooded. And you have no idea what you are talking about with this ice on the beer thing. Maybe it is just Abita Wheat & the Strawberry Lager. I've never done it with other beers. I'm telling ya brother...this stuff rocks.

BTW, olive salad, meat, and bread don't ship well together.

$13 when I buy the growler and the beer. If I bring in a bottle then it is $8 for a "fill". The best thing is that Masala Mama isn't even close to their only good brew.

Maybe by the coast, but not 35 miles inland. Stagnant, humid air all summer long. I get soaked with sweat just walking through it to my mailbox at the end of the driveway.Im just bustin your balls about the ice thing. Ive honestly never heard of it, bit then again, theres ALOT of thing in Nawlins Ive never heard about until I went there. Mufalattas for one.

Its all good though, everyone drinks what they like. Next time Im there, Ill try one. And it will be with dinner at Dantes

I never used to think it was, but damn, when its 106 and in the rainy season, sometimes I wonder.....But the main reason I moved from frigid Mighigan to the sunshine state was the HEAT. I friggin LOVE it. All walks of life come to a....s l o w....c r a w l...in the summer, and thats when I love it the most. It keeps the old people inside and off the roads, so its all good.

Plus, drinking a beer on the porch at midnight when its 90 degrees is something I just LOVE. Sweating balls, drinking a nice hefe...even better near (or ON) the beach.....ahhhhh, Florida.

You know, since I started posting in this thread, it really seems like Wingnut, Skylord, Fatmax, and myself are the big beer :nerd:

Drinking friend just left so time to relax and settle down with something nice.

I'm cracking the Storm King, one of the worlds best Imperial Stouts. And I friggin love the label, it really epitomizes the beer. I almost want the image blown up as a full poster.

Speaking of Florida, I wanna show you guys where me and the GF stayed a few weekends ago....20 steps out the back door to sand...http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/2691/beach0il.jpg

If you goto http://maps.google.com and type in "183rd Ter W, redington shores, FL 33708", then click "HYBRID" view in the top right corner of the map, youll see the house in the pic....then you can zoom in or out and see the surrounding area...or click and hold down your left mouse button to move/drag the map around.....absolutely beautiful area. And we didnt have to pay a dime to stay there. I took some Hazed & Infused, some Mojo IPA, a few DFH Aprihops....drinking on the beach at 2am is something special.

Why do I love Florida, let me count the ways.......

Sorry, I just love to brag sometimes..... :banned:

Just starting to enjoy some stouts. Doesn't help that I don't like coffee. But I wholeheartedly agree with the Masala.

Just starting to enjoy some stouts. Doesn't help that I don't like coffee. But I wholeheartedly agree with the Masala.

Treat Imps like Port and you'll appreciate them tremendously. As you know, not all beer is created equal, and should be handled differently.

I wholeheartedly agree with the Masala.

I went ahead and rated it at BA....clocked in at 4.25  One of the best Ive had.

Nice review. I have yet to review a beer there. :bag: I am more into the drinking of it I guess.

At first I loved it, now I just do it when I get those really elusive ones, or a really surprisingly good one. If I start drinking a beer and dont care for it, Im not gonna review it -- every time I review, I really concentrate on the beer while Im typing the review and editing it -- I dont want to concentrate that hard on a medicore brew.I originally planned on reviwing ALL the new beers I tried, just to have an online inventory of what Ive tried, etc, but I found out after a few months that it would be too much work and effort. Concentrating so hard alot of times takes away from the enjoyment of the beer. And iM not the type that can take notes while drinking and later put together a good picture of the beer....But I do enjoy reviewing a beer that I really enjoy. Kind of a tribute to the beer, I guess.

That brings up another thought....I'd like to see top ten lists from people on styles. Using the Imps I've secured I plan on locking down my ratings once and for all. It would be interesting to do this with other styles as well.

Its time for the Three Philosophers.

And you said that you were already drunk...

I'm a glutton, and the wife is pulling half my weight with the 750ml right now. Pros and cons to having a spouse that drinks beer.
