I think you described it well. Not as good as the Two Hearted but a solid brew.

only hindrance for me is the slight minty taste. that's about the only thing that would keep me from slamming a dozen of these.

yeah, I have the empty bottle sitting in my room I liked it ok. I'm thinking that I'm not a stout guy though. They have a bunch of bombers at the local market here though so I could send some out to you if you want to trade at some pt. I'm still working on developing my taste preferences.

I found that this market also had growlers from the Oak Pond Brewery, another Maine brewing pillar. It appeared to be an excellent deal @ $6 for a half gallon (considering Cadillac Mtn. Stout is $4/bomber) and some of the Oak Pond beers are actually well reviewed.

Are growlers somewhat common?

I haven't quite gotten to that point yet. I will though. I promise. But I want to go a little longer down this path of beer excellence before I start writing prose over there. Also, I am hoping to stay away from the BS high-fallutin' language I read in many reviews.Like Buffy the Vampire Slayer said:

Good IPA from a small brewery that most people won't be able to get. Very easy going down. Wish the hops hit a little harder. I just had lime shrimp that might have affected the taste though.

I just bought some Bigfoot today as part of my shopping trip. Just a 6-er. Figured I can put a couple in the wine cellar and see what happens. Putting away a DFH 120, and 4 GI Imperials. Want to see how those do over different times.

Just has been talk on the BA boards about which years they have like more on the Bigfoot. I know they don't change it up like the Anchor xmas, but was curious to see if anyone knew of any differences in the vintages.
