Yeah, the problem with them being closer (for me) is that most of the beers they carry I can find locally, or at least within road-trip range. LS has a lot of west-coast beers that I can't find, but that distance also increases the shipping costs. But for a trueJohn's Grocery is worth checking out. I made my first online order with them Monday and received it today! Prices were cheaper than Liquid Solutions and the freight was a lot cheaper also (I live in TN and John's is in Iowa so it's a lot closer to me than Liquid Solutions).

I am going to call them today and see if they have GI Imp actually in stock. If so, then they are one of the few. And at their case price, even including shiing, it will be right at or even cheaper than any price I can get locally. Everyone here is old out of that stuff. frrreal.. i had it in Brussels. had to pour it out. blech. tasted horrendous. and this was fresh beer, off the tap. it was just too bizarre. the chunks were off-putting but the flavor was 5 times worse.

EKU 28 is a hugely strong beer (eisbock, 11% abv). It SHOULD NOT have chunks, and assuredly did not leave the brewery that way. It may have been on tap, but I suspect it was NOT fresh. it was on tap at the Bier Circus in Brussels. i assume it was fresh. none of the other beers i had there came out with any imperfection.28's not an eisbock (there is another Kulmbacher eisbock), just a REALLY STRONG and syrupy doppelbock. I always found it almost too sweet, but it'll kick your ### in a hurry. I never saw chunks of anything in it, and I've drank probably 2 cases and 6 pints of it in my lifetime.True story (may have told this one before): Picked up a sixer of it in college for $6.99. Had one, housemate comes in, asks what it is, I tell him "German brew" so he has one. He heads off to photography class. Fast forward an hour. Phone rings. "What the hell was in that beer you gave me?" "Why?" "Because I had one of 'em and I'm FLYIN'!!" "Umm, it's around 12% alcohol." "Christ, no wonder I can't get any pictures developed here." "So? Just a friendly reminder that it is very close to 'late June', so you all may want to keep an eye out for this in the next couple of weeks. No reviews at BA yet, so I am assuming that it still hasn't gotten here.On a side note, I leave for Cincy tommorow. I will definitely be getting my hands on several beers that I have never had before, including the Dreadnaught (hopefully), Bell's Two-Hearted Ale, Goose Island DIPA, some Founders, and some Great Lakes.

As a proud and accomplished beer drinker I'm embarrased that I haven't participated in this thread to date.
I have this habit of letting bottle caps accumulate in the drawer where I keep my church key. I tend to let the pile go for a couple of months before cleaning it out and starting over. I think the last time I cleaned it out was around Easter time.
Here's what I got:
Newcastle -- a bunch of these, I buy it by the case at Costco every now and then. A solid staple.
Deschutes Brewery -- Craft brewery in Bend, OR. They use a common cap on all of their varieties, so I'm not positive which one these are from. I'd guess the Mirror Pond Pale Ale, which is my favorite from them. They make a nice IPA as well.
Karl Strauss Endless Summer Light -- I tend to keep a few bottles of lighter, more mainstream beer on hand for my wife who doesn't like most of the stuff I do. This is the current varietal.
Sam Adams (the original Boston Lager) -- I think a friend brought these by during the NHL playoffs.
Sam Adams ("Brewmaster's Collection) -- From the Black Lager. Oh yeah.
Pacifico -- Another wifey selection. I'll drink 'em with Mexican food when the weather is warm.
Widmer Brewing -- Like Deschutes, this doesn't indicate which varietal, but I recall that my father in law brought down some Widmer hef with him from Oregon. These caps aren't quite as cool as the old Lucky Lager puzzle caps, but they are imprinted with quirky toasts such as: "To convenient memory" and "To skirt-lifting breezes."
Redhook IPA -- I don't remember these very well. I think guests consumed these.
Full Sail Pale Ale -- More Oregon micros. My FIL has really got me on the Oregon bandwagon.
Green Flash Brewery (San Diego) IPA -- Overly hopped, VERY strong taste and a pungent skunky aroma. A bit too much even for me.
Stone (San Diego) IPA -- much more subdued and palatable than Green Flash, but still bold. 6.9% ABV. Yep.
Alaskan Amber -- more NHL playoff beer. Don't remember much about it other than it was good and served its purpose. Much smoother taste and finish than I was expecting.
Bridgeport Brewing Co. -- Portland. Again. Another generic cap that doesn't indicate the exact varietal, but it does indicate "Bottle Conditioned Ale." Pretty sure this came from their IPA.
Firestone Pale Ale -- Not much to say here. It was cold and good.
No Red Stripe caps, but I will say "Hooray for beer!"

We have a chain store out here in Cali called Beverages and More that sells sixers of the BL by itself. I haven't seen it packaged and offered this way anywhere else yet, but it is out there.

Place I went to Monday had a bunch of Anchor OSA shoved in a corner, but no prices so I ignored it. Maybe they'll put it on sale.Yeah, they had Celebration marked down at Binny's in Chicago. Drank quite a few of those.Picked up a couple of bottles of Vertical Epic. Even better though, I got a 6 pack of Winter Storm for 4.99.

:X Way too Robitussin-like for my tastes.Just finished a bottle of Middle Ages Swallow Wit - interesting take on a Witbier, the usual orange & coriander but fermented with the house Ringwood yeast. Tasty on a hot evening. Next up I'm gonna crack a growler of Middle Ages ImPaled Ale - basic, drinkable IPA that's a staple around this house.
