What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

So tonight when I stopped at the liquor store I saw a couple bottles that really intrigued me. 3 liter bottles of HOTD Adam and Fred both at least 20 batches old and well aged for $70 each. One major problem. I don't know enough people who like good beer to make it worth drinking a bottle of that size. Which brings me to...

A month or two ago we talked of a beer geek/BIG cornhole. If it looks like there are enough people interested in getting something going, I might buy one of those bottles.

What say ye, fellow beer :nerd: 's?
So I will take that to mean that no one is interested in a FBG beer cornhole?

Already ruined my pallette starting with a DIPA, so Laguintas Maximus.
Odd stuff here. I'm drinking one right now. I cracked it and reviewed it before coming here and finding this post.

FatMax, looks like you were disappointed by this too.
I still like the beer, but there are so freaking many really good DIPAs around me that this one really doesn't compare. Seriously, I grabbed Maximus at the local beer store tonight and it was wedged between Moylander and Ruination. No comparison.

It's just not a good beer and not a good representation of the style. I will drink it, but that's about it. Thought I might be alone on it.

Not even close. I would choose one of either of those over a few Maximus

Like I said in my review, if Lagunitas called this a single IPA, it would be money. It's just too weak on all fronts to be considered a double.

Bottled 3/10/99A bit too old. Had a 38 a few months ago and it had lost a lot of its depth.

I really could be wrong. Not sure. I remember the Fred being batch 42 though. They had Rose too.

Throwing one of my beautiful Beatifications into the fridge.
This #### is awesome.
Why o why, didn't I order this stuff right away?
Nucular George and Skylord both bought the six bottle limit. Unfortunately, I only have four. Hit them up, not me. :D
Actually I only got four as well. Already in the proces of trading one a way, but I really don't need more than two.
You know where I am.

Cracking into the elusive Alpine brewco Pure Hoppiness. Haven't tried this beer yet, only read about it. Review to follow @ BA.

Me too. I'm not going to tell what I'm getting in return until I have it in my hand, but needless to say, I'm going to be stoked.

Wow, someone is hooking you up enough to not go with FBGs first. Oh well. :kicksrock:

I'll still hook you up if skylord doesn't. This other trade has been in the works for over a week now.

Either this weekend or next, I'm going to to RR for some growlers of the Younger. Your name, along with Wingnut, is on one. Just so you know.

I am honored if I am able to get the Younger. That is one of my most sought after beers. You rock sir, you rock. :banned:

I've seen a few of those around here as well, mostly Adams of varied ages (I recall seeing 36 through about 45). The guys at Belmont Station sometimes will crack something like that open for 4-6 friends.A little in the future, but I think I might be headed up your way next year over Labor Day.

Enjoying an Old Rasputin tonight. Definitely one of my favorite RIS's (favor Stone and Big Bear more, but they pack too much power by sheer volume for a midweek beer for me).

Well, if you are in the area, I would love to hook up for a beer or six. My place or at a good local beer bar. Let me know since it looks like there will be no FBG beer cornhole based on no interest.

Somebody needs to just spearhead the process. I think winter 06 or spring 07 would be best for me. We should pick a beerfest as the epicenter.

Late spring 07 (mid-May or after) would likely be best for me, or Portland Brewfest is last weekend in July if that interests people.

If I can hit the calendar for it now, I can probably book it. I would be willing to host something at my place which may or may not rival some beer fests. With forwarning I could style it after the likes of us FBGs.

St George Porter from 3C's. Pretty darn good. Like a slice of liquid coffee/chocolate cake.
If you like that maybe I should pick up the Mocha Java Double Brown from Town Hall for you. It's like having a coffee.

Butte Creek Organic IPA from Gator.
Good luck, buddy. :X
Yeah, I tried to be fair in my review, but this just isn't good. Can't wait to have another beer to get the taste out of my mouth.
If you see their Organic Double IPA around, pass on it. In fact, I might even consider a bit of napalm for the building in which it is housed.

Mocha Java is a seasonal though. Won't be around for long. Just say the word. I know you will make it good.

Just so I am clear for tomorrow.

3 Masala Growlers - for Duckboy, Skylord and FatMax

1 Mocha Java Double Brown - for Skylord.
