What kind of beer is everyone drinking tonight? (4 Viewers)

Oh, and of course, I just had the Masala to get my BA mug. Excellent IPA. One of the smoothest I have ever had. Nothing over the top, like some. Very balanced and very good. If any of you have had Drake's IPA, Masala reminds of what it could have been with a little more care. Very good roasted malt combined with a hop that blended well. Very good beer, and I thank Mr. Tip Top for the growler.

Beermann's Bourbon Barrel Barleywine is getting a 4.4 in my book. The warmer it gets, the crazier the flavors become. Seriously delicious.
 I'm glad you like it. I'm even happier now that I have a legit local beer to trade.
Do you have it under your have's list? Its marketable for trade bait, for sure. Especially with the schtick of the big bottle, flip top and the paint etched label.

Yeah, I'm the only one that has it in their gots list. I've had it for a few months now.

Very happy you liked it. It hasn't dissappointed anyone I have sent it to yet.

Bells Oberon
I just can't get myself to enjoy wheats. There are some exceptions like Weihenstephaner.
Have you had this years Oberon??
Can't say I have.
Its not your typical wheat beer. I like German Hefes, but not many other types of wheat beers...THIS one, however, isnt like any other wheat beer Ive ever had. Its really friggin good. If you can find someone who has some, get a couple of bottles shipped to ya....I think youd like it. Its an awesome summer beer. Crisp, refreshing, and easyyyy to drink.

just in case this brand hasn't been mentioned before in this gigundous thread, i have an additional recipe/preference: "A LOT."

that is all. bottoms up. :D

Jesus Christ, Patron Anejo is some GOOD ####### ####. I have never tasted tequila this smooth. And I don't give a damn that this is a thread about beer.

Technically this doesn't belong, but I am going to let this slide. :banned:

I prefer blanco, but yes Patron is dope.

You, sir, are a good man. And in the spirit of drinking, I'm gonna have another round on you.

Don Julio Anejo blows the doors off Patron. Seriously. Now, back to your regularly scheduled beer thread.

Oh, it's everywhere around these parts. Can't go into a liquor store without seeing it.

Well I should probably call it a night since I have to be up in 3.5 hours.
wow
It's really pretty normal. You have made comments when I have posted when I wake up.
I have gnarly sleeping problems. It takes me 3 hours to fall asleep as it is.
Wow. I'm totally the opposite. I can sleep within 5 minutes, in pretty much any situation. There are officially documented occasions where I was almost asleep after we got on an airplane and before takeoff. Day or night, I can almost always drop to sleep on command. I think it's a function of chronically under-sleeping.

:goodposting: i can drop out at a moment's notice pretty much any time.

I might be able to do that today since I only got 3 hours sleep, but normally I lay in bed for at least an hour before falling asleep. The exception to this is if I have been drinking a good bit.

:goodposting: Takes me at least 30 minutes normally. Then if someone/something wakes me up, takes me another 30 minutes.

:bag: Some times when I'm on vacation, I'll take our daughter to pre-school so the wife can go to work early. My wife has "woke me up" before, talked to me, told me to do something that day, and went to work. I get up for real an hour later or whenever to get Claire ready for pre-school. With no clue my wife said anything. I have to be up for minimum 5 minutes or at least take a shower to actually remember anything.

Back to the beer. :banned: Getting ready to mow, so seeing as how I don't have anything "light" in the frdige, and it's hot outside, think I need to make a beer run. Wife is gonna kill me. :D

Hotter than Satan's scrotum here. And I'm having a Hacker-Pschorr Weisse. Yummy.

It's already 93 out and this warehouse is about 10 degrees hotter. I wish I could stay in my office the whole time. Thank god I get to leave soon. I want a beer!

Anyone know why Fro is drinking beer in the "desert"? Seriously, it'll dehydrate you Fro. That's the last thing you want in a desert. Now if you were having "dessert", then "I'll take two please".Oh, and how's the Westy 8?

Just had a disappointing Telemark IPA. Don't know why I'm disappointed, I wasn't expecting much.
I had a nap not too long ago. Pretty quickly after my Hacker-Pschorr. Took me maybe 3 minutes to fall asleep. My wife had to wake me up almost 2+ hours later.

*******. :crosses NG off the surprise beer box list:

I'm still hurting from drinking nothing but barleywines last night.

I'm bummed at being crossed off the list. However, since I'm borderline narcoleptic, I think I'm going to go to sleep now. That's a seriously under-used smilie.

I'm a bonefied bourbon barrel beer fan, for sure.
I picked up one of these today. A belgian style scotch ale aged in bourbon barrels. Not cheap at 14 dollars for the 750, but I couldn't help myself. I will probably try this tomorrow.

Comparable in price to a decent bottle of wine, and honestly, probably better. Certainly to "us". I've seen this at the Sam's up here, and now I'll try it.Thanks Kilgore...

 I might need to make a trip to Bevmo and see if they've restocked their Allagash yet.

Looks like I can get it here. One of the reviews is from the area. Maybe I'll try it, but at that price I think I'll only try one.Picked up one of these: Herold Bohemian Black Lager and one of these: Aecht Rauchbier Weizen

Cracked the growler of Ithaca Double IPA tonight after the kids decided to drag Dad away from the compuer and his beer last night instead of waking up their sober sleeping Mom. :hot:

This stuff is flat-out scary. The hops (100% NYS grown, baby!) are downright floral in their initial flavor, but after that it's this great blending of powerful honey-toffee malt, solidly citric bitterness, and a really serious warming alcohol with a surprising lack of burn. Amazing aroma - alcohol, citrus hops, and biscuits-dipped-in-honey malt.

This beer is gonna kick my ### hard, and I'm gonna enjoy every minute of it. :banned:

Damn. Haven't seen THAT one yet. Their bourbon brews are exceptional - just wonderfully complex. I need to remember to look at the boxes on the top shelves at Oliver's where they hide the good stuff. Or just go to Maine. But that's gonna happen this fall come hell or high water.

started with a St. Bernardus Tripel, then a Aventinus weizenbock. Now to an Ayinger Brau Weisse. :banned:
Damn. The opposite order of which I would have tried them, but can't argue at all about any of 'em. Great brews, all of 'em.
