This can be tremendous in the bottle, if fresh, but they tend to skunk because of the green glass. Should be even better on tap!:jealous:Evilgrin 72 said:Hitting happy hour at my favorite bar tonight. They just sent me this e-mail :
New Beers at Redlight Redlight
ON DRAFT :
Chouffe Houblon Dobbelen IPA Tripel
A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing. Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). 9% abv
This sounds wonderfulEvilgrin 72 said:Hitting happy hour at my favorite bar tonight. They just sent me this e-mail :

ON DRAFT :
Lost Coast Chocolate Porter
A porter made with imported cocoa beans! only 4 kegs sent to Florida, guess who got 2!
No big fan of Okocim Beer or Okocim OK but I wouldn't mind trying their Porter or Palone.Evilgrin 72 said:Okocim OK cans

I only know what Skylord has said. Plus I wasn't saying anything about my haves/hads. I was merely noting for KYT that it exists. To help comfort him since Santa doesn't exist.I'm really looking forward to it - 2 hours and counting....This can be tremendous in the bottle, if fresh, but they tend to skunk because of the green glass. What about bombers? Do they make you buy a case of those too? Weyerbacher Double Simcoe and Stoudts Fat Dog.I am getting ready to host my 3rd Beerfest. I invite 11 guys and we sample 12 beers. I have print outs for each beer and everyone takes a turn describing the beer we are about to drink. I also give away beer-related prizes (openers, t-shirts, golf towels, caps, basket of beer, etc.) and we have a dart tournament when we're done drinking. It is an absolute GREAT time. This year's line up so far (I have to come up with 2 more):Chimay Premier RedSamuel Adams Longshot DortmunderSam Adams Longshot Boysenberry WheatSam Adams Longshot Old AleMagic Hat Number 9Lindeman's PecheMackeson XXX StoutPenn Brewing MarzenEast End Brewing Blackstrap StoutEast End Brewing Big Hop IPAAny suggestions for the last two beers? Keep in mind that I am in PA so I have to buy whole cases which is a PITA and many great beers from the West coast are just not available.
I am not sure what a bomber is. You can buy Growler's and mini-kegs though. The Double Simcoe is a solid choice but I already have an IPA. I think Fat Dog is a stout, right? If so I already have two.I am thinking a Porter and maybe a Belgian Blonde (Something like a Leffe) or an Irish red or cream ale. What about bombers? Do they make you buy a case of those too? Problem for me is that I'm much closer to the fumblin', bumblin' fool during the investigation than the sharp-eyed vet investigator that eventually unravels the case.We really need a Columbo smilie on this board.![]()
