What's Normal? - Coke or Pepsi? (1 Viewer)

If you had to drink one, would it be Coke/Diet Coke or Pepsi/Diet Pepsi?

Dr Pepper, I cannot stand coke I haven't ever drank a whole 12oz can even as a kid. Pepsi is tolerable but not enjoyable.
Ever have the real ones in the bottle with the little numbers on them?
I don't think I have. I was trying to remember the last time I had soda out of a glass bottle. Frostie Rootbeer from a machine for a quarter when I was a kid. Those things were sooo good.

Bit pricey but I'm sure it would send you back in time

Dr. Pepper if I drink anything.
Coke Zero (or whatever it is called today) if I drink a coke product.

Regular coke makes my teeth feel like they are wearing heavy sweaters made of sugar.

Pepsi tastes like liquid salt.

I am 100% on team Coke. Went to see a flick at Regal Cinemas and they offer Pepsi. I guess I’m not as rigid as I used to be. I bought it and drank some of it. Not Coke, but not terrible either.

I couldn’t tell the difference if my life depended on it.
You could definitely tell the difference. You just may not be able to say which one is which. But I will help you. Pepsi is less carbonated and much more syrupy. Coke is very carbonated and much better.
We're definitely a Coke family. At work, they set up a blind taste test and had the following drinks:

Coke, Coke Zero (my preferred choice), Diet Coke, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Diet Dr. Pepper, and Dr. Pepper Zero. I went 8 for 8 in the taste test, and the only one that was close for me was actually Dr. Pepper and Dr. Pepper Zero (mainly because I hadn't had a real Dr. Pepper in a long time). The Pepsi's stood out like a sore thumb.

Just imagine how much Coke McDonald's alone sells.
McDonald's Coke is different. Maybe not 1990's Coke, but it's the best we got now.
It is unlike any other Coke today. I don't drink coffee but to get a McDonalds Coke early in the morning on the start of a road trip is a requirement. Having two kids doing travel sports for many years this was a godsend.

However, there was one early Sunday after a long Saturday of games where I dropped my wife and daughter off at the field (my daughter had a game and my wife was one of the coaches) so my son and I head to McDonalds for a Coke and sausage mcmuffins. We were in a bit of a hurry so we go through the drive thru. I wasn't paying much attention other than to make sure we had all the sandwiches we ordered and hit the road back to the field. We got to the field and I sit down ready for that swig of soda and it was flat and syrupy. Tasted like a bad pepsi. It was one of the biggest disappointments in my life. I got F***** in the drive thru. It just ruined my day. From that point on me and my son also make sure to test the Coke out before we leave the window. That will never happen to either of us ever again.

I preferred caffeine free diet pepsi to caffiene free diet coke. Then caffiene free coke zero came along, which I think is the best caffiene free no calorie cola at this time.

Recently I've been trying very hard to stay away from all soda, in fact I'm trying to drink only water (and the occasional alcoholic beverage). I generally feel better as a result. Problem is flavored drinks can be very tasty. I'm 6 days clean today...

Surprised at how lopsided this is for Coke. I'm in the majority but I didn't expect it to be this uneven.

Definitely a little high. Across the US it is typically around 2–1 vs. the 4-1 like we have here.

ETA - those numbers are for the entire portfolio though so maybe something like Gatorade and Mt. Dew skew it.

You have to pick one. Don't want to hear "I don't drink soda/pop/soft drinks". If you would never ever drink any, just don't vote.

This includes any variation... regular, diet, zero, etc...
Wait, I just discovered that you have a website for this stuff?

That's awesome!
