In the included cohort studies, consumption of nonnutritive sweeteners was associated with a modest increase in BMI (mean correlation 0.05, 95% CI 0.03 to 0.06; I2 0%; 21 256 participants). Data from RCTs showed no consistent effects of nonnutritive sweeteners on other measures of body composition and reported no further secondary outcomes.
In the cohort studies, consumption of nonnutritive sweeteners was associated with increases in weight and waist circumference, and higher incidence of obesity, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular events. Publication bias was indicated for studies with diabetes as an outcome.

The big ones branched into other beverages a long time ago, so they’re doing fine.Soda companies must be on the verge of collapse. Anytime I see it or hear it brought up everyone immediately says they don't drink it anymore.
I drink regular a few times a week.
Dr Pepper Strawberries & Cream Zero Sugar Is the only diet soda I’ll drink.Diet.
Dr Pepper Zero is the nectar of the Gods.
I’ll take the calories over the substituteThe big ones branched into other beverages a long time ago, so they’re doing fine.Soda companies must be on the verge of collapse. Anytime I see it or hear it brought up everyone immediately says they don't drink it anymore.

I rarely drink soda anymore but when I do, it’s regular. Diet soda is just as bad for you, but in different ways. So I go with what I like better in terms of taste.
It is if you're purchasing a regular coca-cola.
It's called "A Coke".

The pepsi and coke zero are great alternativesCoke Zero is also my go-to when I do drink soda, so technically diet even if tastes more like regular.
Yeah that was always weird. What part of the country calls all soda "coke"?

I will drink a 4 pack of the below every few months. I did not consider it soda until I saw @General Malaise post.
If it does count as soda, then I drink around 20-25 soda's per year. And the strongest ginger beer is my favorite soda by far.

I’ve had more issues with staining from tea, but a recommendation is to do a simple water rinse after having a soda, coffee, or tea. It does wonders. For those of you that drink soda/diet soda on the reg, how are your teeth holding up? Part of me quitting soda altogether was the warnings I was getting from dentists about the long term damage to enamel. No issues since so I'm wondering about guys my age (50) who still drink it - your dentists say anything about it?
I drink waaayyy too much diet Pepsi. I can say my teeth have suffered, but it is hard to determine if that is from the soda or I got unlucky and got my dad's teeth. He had almost all his pulled and dentures put in when he in his 40's.For those of you that drink soda/diet soda on the reg, how are your teeth holding up? There's also a whole segment of the country that think the Earth is flat, that think Nickelback is good, and/or cheer for the Philadelphia Eagles. Doesn't mean their opinions/beliefs are correct. It is if you're purchasing a regular coca-cola.

You know, there's a whole segment of the country you live in that would vehemently disagree with you. In the south, any soda is referred to as "A Coke". Just the way it is.
I drink probably 2L per day. Never had one cavity... recently had a root canal, but that was due to a cracked tooth, not decay. For those of you that drink soda/diet soda on the reg, how are your teeth holding up? My dentist sasses me each visit about my stained teeth on account of my black coffee and tea habits, but it's all in good fun due to the alternative. I will have a McDonald's Coke (yes it's different) maybe once or twice per year but aside from that it's coffee, tea, water, and alcohol. If I'm going to drink my calories then it's gonna come with a buzz. For those of you that drink soda/diet soda on the reg, how are your teeth holding up? I'm on this team (team super cool)If I do drink soda (which is extremely rare, like 5-6 times a year), its regular.
