Ask 'em if they are running the special where you get a free bowl of soup with that hat.....
that is the craziest thing brohan because when i got to the old ball golf shop last night they had a buy a hat get a soup special going and it was pretty awesome take that to the bank
I'm sure the hat looked good on you, though.
also just for the record i totally get the reference mrs crane take that to the bank bromigo
You wore green so you could hide.

You’re a tramp!

I voted yes but should probably change to no because the frequency is less than once a month. Up until I was 45, I never played golf. Growing up with a single mom, there wasn't a lot of disposable income to go towards food/shelter/water, let alone golf, so I never got into it. But, my 12 y.o. son (he's 15 now) wanted to start playing, so we took lessons together, and I started to see the appeal of the game, and have enjoyed playing with friends, and especially my son (it's been great for our relationship).

He's gotten really good (definitely better than I am), was able to play on the HS golf team his freshman year. He wants to play all the time, or go to the range. Thankfully, we got him a Youth On Course membership, and he can play a lot of great courses around here for $5 for a round of 18, or for free (HS team). Whenever we go on family vacations now, we always check to see if there's a course close to us that we can play. We've been able to play on Oahu's North Shore, in Bend, OR and surrounding area, Phoenix, Paso Robles. We didn't get to play a course in NYC area, but did make it to the Chelsea Pier range.

Added benefit: I usually let him drive the golf cart, and he recently got his learner's permit, and the driving experience on the courses has translated well to real world car driving.

Luckily golf has an awesome amateur tournament structure at the state levels to fall back on.

Anyone familiar with the northern CA and/or Bay Area golf scene for juniors/amateurs? I've read a little on the websites for Junior Golf Association of Northern California and Junior Tour of Northern California. Is one better than the other? Any other associations to consider?

I really want to try and play golf again, but I just can't find the time to put enough practice in to feel comfortable getting back on the course. Maybe some day.

I'd say this shouldn't matter at all but we are all different. If I felt like this, I would never play again.

I try to play once a week

I will ask my brother about this.

Yes. I am a single digit handicap. But once I finalize my divorce and move out to Phoenix, it's going to be a TON. Probably at least once a week. I currently live in NSH, and the golf here really sucks. Mostly private clubs that aren't worth the 20K+ initiation fee. I have to drive 45 min to an hour to play a decent course that isn't 100 bucks to play.

Come play in Flagstaff with me in the summer. I belong to a private club there.

"You don't PLAY golf. You golf."

That's what doooooshy golf guy said to me the day I quit ball golf for good and made the permanent switch to disc golf.

No insight into the junior associations….
Only NCGA

Thanks for checking. I looked on the NCGA site, and they're affiliated with another junior association: JTNC - the Junior Tour of Northern California. There are probably others with similar names/acronyms out there. Which does one choose?
