Who wears dress shirts these days?

Who wears dress shirts these days?
@-OZ- for one…
:oldunsure:
Two days a week in the office, attorney. 🤷
That makes sense, these days I am mostly in shorts and t-shirts, I wear a button up when I am going out in public.
-I sometimes go 24-48 hours and don't leave the house if I don't have any tennis scheduled or errands to run.
Work out of the house, Gift Officer/Fundraiser and most of the money I raise is from a handful or two of donors
And then I have a drive thru beer/wine store I run on Fri/Sat, mostly brewery swag when I'm there.
-I have more fun those 2 days, roughly 10-12 hours total I am in the store.
We sell more beer during those hours than the rest of the week combined, I **** you not
I went to buy it and the owner was not ready to sell so I oversee what I feel are the highest traffic times and am working to open a 2nd location that I would run exclusively

I put on a dress shirt a handful of times a year when I have to be at a big shindig or event for fundraising

I voted no - but I was shocked to see 25% of people actually do this. What benefit does this have over just tucking it into your dress pants (outside the underwear) like any sane person would do?
As mentioned above, I do it when I'm qearing a suit, which is fairly often. It stops the dress shirt from getting all messed up while moving around and since I'm in front of people a lot it keeps me looking less disheveled.

Look - my first reaction was "this is bananas," but the logic is sound. I might have to try this next week when I have to wear a suit into the city...I do suffer from bunched up dress shirts. I do need new undershirts badly. I do need to lose a few pounds too. There's a lot of challenges these days. Lol.
Game. Changer.

Change my vote. I'm tucking from now on. My shirt tuck was better than it has ever been.

I tried this on Sunday ...and it worked as advertised. Undershirt stayed in; dress shirt didn't come untucked at all.

And like why are we wearing undershirts?

Are you European? Generalizing here, but I've noticed that a higher percentage of the European men at our office go sans-undershirt. Personally - I'm not a fan of looking around a table and seeing hairy nipple in the button hole gap.

I’m not European. I just think it looks tacky when you can see the outline of an undershirt under a dress shirt or even worst the collar of the undershirt if say the top bottom gets unbuttoned for a casual look. I also don’t have very hair nipples and keep all that hair under control so maybe that’s a factor?

Like I mentioned up thread I was skeptical too back when that old thread was around. Tried it and it really is a good life hack. I don’t wear dress clothes much at all any more but it’s still good when I do have to.

I converted a buddy at work yesterday. Really can't believe I'd never heard of this before.

“So, hey, buddy! I noticed you shirt coming untucked during the meeting today. Let me help you out. C’mere and unzip your pants!

BTW, can we talk about those hairy nipples?”

Outline of undershirt? You mean at the sleeves?

Yeah, sometimes you can tell someone has an undershirt on, hate that look

You shouldn't see any of that if someone is wearing a proper undershirt, a grey v-neck.

Have a family pictures today, going to try this out to see it it keeps the shirt poof in check.
Although family pictures is really not a good time for experiments. Son has a loose front tooth and I keep telling him to leave it alone for 2 more hours. Mom has a vision for these pictures, don’t screw around with her vision. We will be happier if we keep our appearances status quo for 2 more hours.

Based on your username it should help - good luck.

It started with "so hear me out...you need to try this."

I was just happy he didn't immediately think I was trying to prank him.
