Depends on the type of shoe, but yes usually. For you standers -- do you also put your shoes on and tie them while standing up?
Yes.For you standers -- do you also put your shoes on and tie them while standing up?
The responses in this thread are awesome.of course.Yes.For you standers -- do you also put your shoes on and tie them while standing up?

Yes.
of course.
Either crouch down/bend over to tie or tie while the foot is elevated in the air. Some shoes I can just slip on though and don't require tying.
Do you bend over and tie while the bottom of your foot is still on the floor, like touching your toes? or do you couch down? Or go into some weird balance figure 4 leg model and tie it while it's resting on your knee?
leg straight out right angle to body, parallel to the floor and knee straight.Do you bend over and tie while the bottom of your foot is still on the floor, like touching your toes? or do you couch down? Or go into some weird balance figure 4 leg model and tie it while it's resting on your knee?
Oh, Sure. Why didn't I include that as an option?leg straight out right angle to body, parallel to the floor and knee straight.
exactly so.Oh, Sure. Why didn't I include that as an option?
Sometimes when I put my socks on I like to throw them both up into the air and then do a double backflip spring of the bed and launch both feet into them before they hit the floor.
Varies between standing, sitting, or laying. Are people sitting to take socks off too?
i take off and leave my shoes downstairs. i sit on the stairs and put both socks and shoes on there.Question for those that sit - are you sitting on your bed or do you have a chair in your bedroom or do you walk somewhere else in the house to put your socks on?
No. We're footballguys. We're better than that. We wear socks. Maybe no show socks at the right time. But always socks.
Of course not. That would be ridiculous. Are people sitting to take socks off too?
Yes - work shoes are no tie - occasionally when wearing tennis shoes I will sitFor you standers -- do you also put your shoes on and tie them while standing up?
To clarify. I self identified my symptoms as the same as piriformis syndrome. For me it was while sitting, especially while driving at the end of the day, implying to me that there was a muscle fatigue factor. I experienced this for about a month before starting my stretching routine. The symptoms were gone in about 2 weeks.Link to exercises?
When needing to tie shoes it takes various forms (listed from most frequent to least frequent):Slip on shoes I get.
You standing tie crew are some weird folk, though.

You post like you're 10.. you run this thing? I mean. No offense, just kind of a strange hill to die on..No. We're footballguys. We're better than that. We wear socks. Maybe no show socks at the right time. But always socks.
Unless we're at the beach or lake or pool wearing flip-flops or sandals. Which is the only acceptable place for flip-flops or sandals if you're older than 10.![]()
Ooooof... debate.
I do this also taking off my socks.Of course not. That would be ridiculous.![]()
Actually, I don't even bend over to remove the socks. I step on the toe of one sock with the heel of my other foot and pull my foot out while the sock is pinned to the floor. Then do the other. Sometimes I will then use my feet to flip the socks into the dirty clothes hamper from the floor. Most of the time they just stay on the floor until the next morning. Then while I am sitting to put on my fresh socks for the day, I grab the dirty ones and toss them into the hamper.
For work days I stand (lean against the wall in my closet) and put on each sock (I think I start with right foot first) and then put on each shoe. For non-work days, I usually sit on the couch and put on both socks then both shoes. So, what's normal in the sequence of shoes and socks?
For me, I sit down. Right foot sock, then right foot shoe. Then left foot sock, then left foot shoe.
Is this normal?
Not even a little bit normal. I think I remember on one of the serial killer documentaries that this is one of the definitive signs that you are a serial killer.ChiefD said:So, what's normal in the sequence of shoes and socks?

Since the pandemic started I've worn socks very infrequently - pretty much only when doing yard work. WFH means I may wear them 2-3 times a month at most.No. We're footballguys. We're better than that. We wear socks. Maybe no show socks at the right time. But always socks.

LOL. We'll just have to disagree then. Can't disagree with you more on the flip-flops only being for the pool or beach.
Just read through this thread for the first time. It was amazing to me the effort that was being made by some people here to accomplish this, instead of just finding somewhere to sit.Standing up while tying your shoes is the very definition of overachiever IMO

I have to disagree. Flip flops are good most of the time here in Florida, because it’s hot and humid, and dealing with sweaty feet is terrible.No. We're footballguys. We're better than that. We wear socks. Maybe no show socks at the right time. But always socks.
