Yep. In my idating days there seemed to be a significantly greater chance of a positive response to a message sent Sunday evening or mid-week (Wednesday or Thursday).

Definitely cannot communicate Friday or Saturday evenings.

[El Floppo]

They weren’t. Of course, that’s the point of the movie, but a lot of people didn’t take it that way.

The last scene makes it pretty clear.

It hammers the point home. That said, people quoted those scenes endlessly and without the consciousness one would expect.

Plus, the name.. Swingers. There was a brief but heavy Swing music scene in SoCal and a bit in NoCal when this movie came out. The movie covers that a bit (and well) and then satirizes the whole single, swing, dating scene.

This is like my wife hating Back to the Future because she hated the kids at her school who liked it.
