Another option could be for Sunday afternoon (no later than 3:00 Eastern) as well. I can recover from standard 1:00 games in time for work monday, but a game that ends at 10:30 is pretty brutal. (Voted sat)

I'd Like the Championship games to be played on Saturday. Then I'd Like the Superbowl 9 days later on a Monday. Two weeks is too long, one week not enough. I'll take the following Tuesday as a personal vacation day.

Ugh! if you think a super bowl experience can be properly accomplished on a Monday evening after work, you are just plain doing it all wrong.

How about extending the regular season to 18 games and pushing the Super Bowl to the day before President's Day?

No, we just need a new holiday. There's gotta be some dead president that is overlooked. Like Calvin Coolidge Remembrence day, to be observed the Monday following the Super Bowl.

Maybe it's just me but I don't like getting bombed during the Super Bowl. I prefer to be able to remember the game and really focus on football. It is after all the last game I can watch for 7 months.

I used to do big Super Bowl parties but I found I missed half the game because of all the activity. Now I prefer to have only true football fans who are interested in watching the game rather thatn a huge social event.

my :2cents:

Why don't we move New Years Eve to July while we're at it so it'll be nice and warm and we can party outside and not have to drive drunk on icy roads at three in the morning?

Well, this year, February 6th is Waitangi Day! :excited: Think that'll fly?

If not here are more worldwide holidays in February.

I'm taking Monday off anyway - I've hit my vacation hours limit. Use em or lose em.

When would you prefer the Super Bowl played? Sunday or Saturday evening?
Saturday evening, unless it's one being held in Houston in which case I'm ok with it being Sunday for the extra day's boost to the economy.Which is why I'll be surprised if it ever changes.

WHAT is a Super Bowl? (for Cleveland Browns fans only)

is the low blow for being a browns fan really necessary

you'd think what the team and organization does to us fans would be enough

Agreed. The concept needs to be explained to Lions and Cardinals fans, too.

Every other city has either seen its team play in a super bowl or the city itself has hosted a super bowl. Seattle and Detroit got removed from the list last year, leaving only Cleveland.

Really? This is good trivia. Thanks.

And have a large chunk of the viewing audience still at the office? No way. Kick it off at 5pm ET. That means actually kicking the ball at that time. Start the show at whatever time is necessary to get the kickoff at that time. Then it's over by 9pm ET and yet it doesn't start too early for west coast fans (plus those in Hawai'i and Alaska where it's even earlier).

That's why I included Cleveland. Cheap shot? Kinda... Detroit didn't get removed last year though, Cincy/SF played back in the 80s. Houston and Jacksonville got removed recently though.I wonder if they keep it on Sunday to keep the "Super Sunday" mantra, and to assure the city hosting the Super Bowl three solid nights (Thursday/Friday/Saturday) of out and out partying and spending tons of moola.

Great points but I guess I'm weak willed because a huge part of SB Sunday for me is getting a bit blitzed. However, back in college I do remember not remembering large parts of the game. Thank god for Tivo. I'll enjoy it and drink but save the game and rewatch undistracted a few days afterwards.

 There's no guarantee the game will actually be worth watching. Alcohol was definitely my friend the year the Chargers finally made it to the SB, and there have been a few other clunkers in there where you needed: :suds: . So I work up a nice little buzz leading up to and during the 1st half, and if the game sucks I switch over to full blotto mode.Then.......
