NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell theorized last week the NFL could move to an 18-game schedule and push the Super Bowl to Presidents' Day weekend.

This would be genius to have the SB the day before a holiday.

I think an 18 game season (I don't know why I hate an odd number of games, but it bothers me) would be perfect.

18 Games
2 Preseason Games
2 Bye weeks.
No week off before SB, play it the Sunday before Presidents day.

This seems perfect.

That does seem like a dream for the consumer. Adding another "real" game for the players is a challenge. Should be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Ya I know more games is not wanted by the players at all. Not sure, but maybe the salaries would jump though?

With eliminating 1 pre-season game and adding an extra bye, maybe that would kinda even it out for the players. I assume (but not really sure) that the players would love a 2nd bye.

Yes. I do also wonder if this might lead to "game management" type stuff like the NBA where a player is rested. That would be interesting. (And rough for us)
