Where is the best place for Peterson and Lynch to land? (1 Viewer)

Rounders

Of course this is assuming that Peterson declares, but I have been in the fortunate  /unfortunate :whoosh: position of having the #1 draft pick in a dynasty league and I'm having a hard time determining what is the ideal teams for these players as they should be the best RBs available.

Any thoughts?

I've seen multiple mocks with Peterson going to Houston and Lynch going to either the Giants or Denver. I would think that Houston and Denver would be the absolute best case scenario, although Lynch to New York wouldn't be bad at all.

I'm thinking that the Jets would be an ideal place for either RB to land.

Mangini's been bred to start building a team from the trenches, and he showed a propensity for going that route in last year's draft (D'brick, Mangold). This is the start of a offensive line unit that can be very good, for a very long time.

Mangini's 1st year was extremely successful based on expectations and their making the playoffs -- it seems to me that he may end up being there for a very long time. Who knows how a RB's future will change when a team changes HC/OC -- important when considering a few of the teams these RBs may end up at.

The Jets job, whoever gets it among Lynch, Peterson, Turner, someone else, will be a big spot this coming season as the line is much better then any of the other "open" jobs (houston, Cleveland, etc.)

There is ZERO chance Adrien Peterson and/or Marshawn Lynch last until the Jets pick. Even if they get bounced this weekend. ZERO.

Houston, Green Bay, Cleveland, Denver or someone trading up sound like more likely destinations...

I think it is very unlikely that either Peterson and/or Lynch will be available when it's the Jets turn on the podium... Assuming this, on draft day, are they tempted to deal their 1st rounder to the Chargers for Turner (who will be tendered - 1st/3rd by the Bolts) - and if so, are the Chargers interested in that deal?

Agreed with Peterson, even if he didn't participate in combine drills. I wouldn't be shocked to see Lynch fall to #26. Right around where SJax and LJ went. We tend to project RBs to go higher than they do. Among the teams we project them to go to, Houston isn't bad for Peterson. Dom did well there, and AD is a better RB. Perhaps not quite as good a receiver, but still, he'll good there. Kubiak is a bonus too.Lynch would be a good tandem with Jacobs, but it wouldn't be the best spot for FF. Green Bay would be better long term. I just don't see Lynch in Denver.A "perfect" (and mostly realistic) FF world would go: 1.02 Detroit: Russell1.04 Tampa Bay: Johnson1.07 Minnesota: Quinn1.08 Houston: Peterson 1.19 Tennessee: Jarrett1.26 NYJ: Lynch 1.28 NE: Meachem1.31 Chicago: Troy Smith

No faith in the Hou Oline taking a step up in their second year under Kubiak?

I think Peterson ends up in Cleveland and Lynch in NYG. Why would Houston want a rb....they have Ron "freaking "Dayne.

Plenty of faith in that, actually. What I don't have is the faith that anyone will have to respect their passing gam.e

Good point, I misunderstood what you said as painting a bleak picture for the Texans up front. If they do improve, even without the passing game, it might not be such a bad gig for a young RB. He could see plenty of carries.

The only problem with that comparison (this is just on memory so could be wrong here) is that neither SJax or LJ were projected as highly as Lynch has been projected in most mocks I've seen. Of course this is all pending workouts and we know that can sway this thing all over the place. Personally I'd like to see Lynch in Houston and maybe dropping down to Green Bay would be another nice spot.

I love SPencer and Winston -the Houston line will indeed be much improved in the next few years. But I have little faith for '07

Spencer's future may be in question according to this article.http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports...nt/4440416.html

Again, a memory thing, which is imperfect: IIRC, we predicted SJax to Philly, which was 1.16. And we weren't even sure he'd last that long. Lynch in Houston would be fine. He's more in the mold of how they used Dom Davis than Peterson is. I don't see him as the #8 pick, but maybe. I'm not sure where LJ was projected, but with over 2,000 yards, it would seem he'd go high. Anyway, we'll see what happens here. The Giants are a probable place for Lynch, but I don't like it much in FF.
