Ok, Maybe Gado was a stretch :P

Ahman wasn't really slowing down even though his numbers looked it. The OL play was horrific. However, he sustained a pretty serious injury to the thigh.

DD had a knee injury and has had many other injuries

Deuce had a bad knee injury

Gado...well you decide.

Interested in rankings by Redraft and ranking for Dynasty

DD seems destined for the bench, so health is less of a factor than Reggie.

Ahman could come back solid for a couple of years, but he's been nicked up quite a bit in his career and seems to be winding down - and if Favre retires it could be a long season for him...

Deuce seems like the obvious choice long term, and after a slow first half of the season I think he'll pick it up and start to produce well.

My thoughts are with Deuce as well. Having him in one of my FF leagues, I kept close tabs on his injury. At first, it wasnt thought to be as serious. I believe the Saints situation (losing record, team chaos, Katrina) helped in his choice to shut it down for the year.

Also having Ahman Green (in that same league), his play was terrible. I believe the Packers will be stagnant until Favre gets outta there (IMO).

DD is headed for the dreaded RBBC.

As far as actual playing ability it should be Davis. He's younger and had a less serious injury.

As far as fantasy purposes, its between Green and DM. Of the two, I think Green is actually a slightly safer bet. Not that either is safe but I see no difference in upside so I'd make the safer pick.

I'd look at Jamal Lewis, Brian Westbrook and Kevin Jones.

Of the ones you mentioned, Ahman Green, then Deuce McAllister.. though one could make strong arguments against either one from the injury standpoint and offenses surrounding them.

I can't say for sure, but I know it's not Deuce McAllister. He was never the picture of health to begin with, and he's coming off a major knee injury that occured 1/3 of the way through the season.

He'll be lucky to put up comparable numbers to Edge in 2002.

Hoping for Green (for own team related issues). Unless the Texans somehow do not end up with Bush DD is headed for RBBC or another team in 2007 (which might well be RBBC as well)

To the Gado supporters - we are not talking bench pressing here - and being strong while riding the pine does not count :P

Gado looked better then I have seen Green look since his big year in 2003. Same offensive line Green had too. And Green didn't do much the year before with an awesome line.

Should take a poll. It is an interesting topic. I think I would vote Gado or DD. DD will have something to prove with a rookie pushing him if physically able too.

I was going to make it a poll, but I was interested in the comments people had and the reasoning. Bob Henry mentioned KJ, Jamal and Westbrook and I was going to put them down, but KJ and Jamal were more just nicked up. Westbrook might have belonged (what was his exact injury?).

The type of injury is a concern, but I think Deuce should be the best choice. Ahman shouldn't be done, unless the injury gets him. DD better hope he is traded. I think Gado is just ok, but his fumbliing is an issue.
