Who are you trying to trade for? (1 Viewer)

I just dealt LT, Sproles, and Cotchery forSJax, Welker1 PPR leagueI have Cutler and am trying to deal him for a RB. What does anyone think he is worth RB wise right now?
Gosh, the more I look at it that seems like a relatively even trade. I have to admit though, at first glance I was not liking it. Decent gamble either way I think.
I have Gore and SJax now and I am trying to get a solid RB to start at my flex spot and give me depth. What does anyone think Cutler is worth as far as RB's go?
Whatever the guy that lost Brady is willing to pay. It's hard to say. I don't think anyone can say a Cutler is worth a Turner for example. Target the guys in the league that have bad to questionable QB situations and go after their RBs. It can't hurt to ask, but base the request on the depth at the position.
Interesting trade.....SJax and LT....two underperforming studs....and I like Welker over Cotchery in a PPR format....nice deal....plus it frees up a roster spot since you don't have to keep Sproles....the better side of the deal will be determined by which stud bounces back first and/or more

Just traded Chris Johnson and Anthony Gonzalez for Steven Jackson and Santonio Holmes. In a dynasty league. Is Stevens value that low now?

Usually, when I make an offer, I send an e-mail with my rationale for both teams to make the deal. If the other owner agrees with me, then it gets done. If he doesn't, it gives me more insight into how he views his players and mine.
Any attempt at "selling" a trade is a huge turnoff."You should accept this trade because it will make your team better". Jeez, you think people are incapable of evaluating trades for themselves?

Sweet deal for you.....I think Sjax and Holmes are excellent buy lows in a dynasty league....

Lost Brady in week one. I made an offer of Holt + Lendale for Peyton Manning + a lesser WR (don't remember exactly who, but it's nothing major).

They guy with Manning has Roethlisberger and Rodgers on the bench, and is very weak at RB. Originally I thought to put out an offer for Rodgers, but the guy actually put Peyton on the block.

I on the other hand am in shambles at QB (figured having Brady afforded me the luxury of waiting on a backup QB in the draft), but have no use for Lendale (he's been on my bench both weeks so far) and whlie I've been starting Holt, I have enough depth at WR to downgrade a bit there.

I think it's a pretty equitable deal, trading strength for strength so that we both improve our weakest position. Hoping to capitalize on the perception of Lendale's somehwat impressive start (10+ fantasy points each week so far) and Manning's somewhat underperformance.

The Peyton owner seems to be going back and forth on the idea, and said he is currently taking a "wait and see" approach to the deal so it doesn't look like it'll get done this week. I was hoping to sell Lendale high and buy Peyton low, so here's hoping for another Lendale TD and another below-average performance by Manning this week...

I was wondering when someone was going to say this. :goodposting:

I don't know if you all want to hear any pre-season trades, but I completed this one in August:

I traded Shockey and Boldin for Fitzgerald

I am not down on Shockey, but this is a Dynasty salary cap league. Schockey would have counted as almost 1/4 of my cap, and I wanted one of the top five WRs.

I sent SJAX and Pat Crayton packing for Maroney and Megatron. I've got Turner, AD, and Felix as backs..... I need a WR

In a start 3 WR 12 team redraft league, I made 2 offers:

1) My Santonio Holmes & Cotchery for his Braylon & crap (i.e. Lloyd)--other owner has Randy Moss too, but no viable WR3--already turned down like I expected

2) My Holmes & Cotchery for his Andre Johnson & crap (i.e. S. Rice)--other owner has Colston too, along w/ guys like Bowe & Bryant; I also expect this one to be turned down.

I knew both were longshots, but I figured it was worth a whirl. I'd love to have either Braylon or AJ to go w/ my Brandon Marshall, though it would mean committing to Roddy White as my WR3 (or using Vincent Jackson depending on matchups)

If MJD is healthy this is a very fair deal.....in a PPR format, the guy getting MJD might even be better off....MJD's changes things...I didn't know he was hurt that bad though....also depends whether Warner is the teams QB1 or 2 and who his other TE is...
It's a sprained ankle (and not even a high ankle sprain). He missed a few plays then went back. Big whup.Warner is top 5, awesome, I won a SB with him last year. He's also an immobile statue and fumbles a lot.

Scheffler (who doesn't even start for his own team) is Top 2. Talk to me in December when he isn't in the top 6 - again, he was a starter on my SB team last year, but gimme a break, he's Chris Cooley lite, not Todd Christensen.

Two guys who were barely draftable a month ago are now worth more than a top 15 RB. No wait, scratch that...it's insulting and laughable that someone would offer a stud for two guys who are, respectively, top 5 and top 2 at their position after...TWO WEEKS?

Put the pipe down, pal. The whole world didn't turn upside down over 120 minutes of football. After a month of regression to the mean, you'll be the one getting laughed at trying to make that same deal.
That's why you sell high. When you sell high you are trying to get more value than what is deserved because you have a player or players that are overachieving, but fill a need with the other team and they hope that their current trends will continue. Sure, you might be right about Scheffler in December, but it's about what they are doing now that gets you potentially better and consistent value. There are plenty of players that were barely draftable that have become fantasy studs (ie Kurt Warner with St Louis). You telling me that their value before the draft should dictate what their value is now? What has MJD done lately. Refer to my previous post. He has 19 touches in two games! Scheffler alone has more receiving yards than what MJD has for combined yardage. Will this trend continue? Probably not. But just because MJD was a top 15 back a month ago does not make him one now. He's hurt, awful offense and not getting the ball very much.

I make VERY fair trade offers and rarely get a response at all (and if I do, it's usually a "no thanks"... not even a counter offer).... It's kind of depressing for someone who gets a lot of fun out of wheeling and dealing... It's like people are so scared of getting screwed they won't even consider deals that could seriously help their teams

My most recent offer: Randy Moss and Antonio Gates for Brandon Marshall and Marques Colston...

Not a steal for the other owner by any stretch, but certainly reasonable and worthy of a response (as opposed to the Cassel for LT type deals I'm seeing posted in here)...

I'm not holding my breath for a response any time soon...

If I'm targeting a player I generally just try to overpay from the getgo. Big fan of depleting my team depth and trading quantity for quality. That's my 2¢.

my rbs:

AP, Barber, Turner, Chris Johnson

Looking to unload Turner.

Looking to get Calvin Johnson as my wr's need help.

Turner is the next best RB that is not starting on anyone's team.

The owner is not biting (his rb's are: Bush, Dunn, Ray Rce, Maurice Morrice & CHester Taylor)

He says he's giving up too much.
