Who Else? (1 Viewer)

Santonio Holmes - now a Jet.

Brandon Marshall - likely now a Dolphin.

Names on the block:

Ted Ginn (MIA)

Marshawn Lynch (BUF)

Who else is EXPECTED to be moved, and who else do you think will be moved?

(Expected - someone's a source of a rumor at least..... otherwise it is your speculation, which is fine - let's just try and clearly mark each type)

Jason Campbell and Albert Haynesworth have been rumored. Well, Campbell's more than a rumor. Shanahan has said that Campbell and his agent are allowed to seek a trade. Haynesworth was reportedly offered to Philly for McNabb and there are continuing rumors that the Redskins are trying to trade him.

I think Haynesworth gets moved. Washington has already paid him the vast majority of his contract, so a team can get him for 3 years at a bargain. And he is apparently set on being a pain in the ### instead of playing in a 3-4. Seems like a deal will get done.

Jason Campbell or Tyler Thigpen should be moved (either may become a Bill).

Agree with both of these, though Thigpen may be delayed til the later (due to Pennington's ongoing injury rehab)

Ronnie Brown came up in rumors a week or so ago - don't see that happening, but who knows.
I wonder if Miami was hoping to pawn off Brown and Ginn for Marshall instead of give up the picks? If so, then Brown may be staying now that the deal is complete and it is the two second rounders instead.

Chris Cooley was rumored awhile back....not sure his salary makes it possible.

Martellus Bennett

I think the Marshall trade opens the doors for the Seahawks to get serious about getting Lynch now (clears some things up). If not them, then the Chargers maybe.

I don't see MBIII going anywhere. Not because of willingness on the Cowboys part but because of his cost vs. production lately. I think the Cowboys will keep him.

Hadn't heard Big Ben to the rams..Would love to see it (not a Rams nor Steelers fan..just seems like Karma and everyone needs a fresh start on that one).

Saints OT Jamaal Brown

the saints went without his services last year because of injury. they have re-signed pretty much everyone else on the team except him. he has refused to sign the contract tendered, worth $3+ million, in the offseason and is not participating in the voluntary offseason workouts. he's 29 too.

there are plenty of teams that could use a 2-time pro-bowl OT. the saints don't *really* need him even if they would like to keep him. i'm sure they could get something for him.

I have heard whispers that the Pats were at least thinking about looking at TE Chris Cooley from Washington. From my perspective, that one has some degree of authenticity (but should be filed under speculation and still a long way from going farther than anything other than internal talk). So I would say on a scale of 1 to 10, that one gets a 4, maybe a 5.

The other one (which I would throw in the wildy speculative, no confirmation, and no more than idle gossip bin) would be the Pats making a play for WR Steve Smith (the Panthers model, not the Giants). I think this one is more of a "wouldn't it be nice if they could pry him away from Carolina" thing than anything based in reality. So on a scale of 1 to 10, this one gets a 1.5 or a 2.

The Pats often pull things off seemingly from left field, so anything is possible with them. I think a lot of what they have potentially brewing may hinge upon who is available at what points in the draft . . . so if the guy they want is there they will draft him, if not they may trade that pick. Similarly, if the guy someone else really wants is there, then they may have trading partners already lined up. I believe NE has a very short list of guys they really want, so if the few guys they have their eye on go by they are open to pretty much anything.

I also think the Pats will be more active in the free agent market after the draft . . . but the logical question is who else is out there that could really make much impact?

Gaither LT Ravens has been talked about for being traded. THey like Cousins to fill RT and Oher to move to LT

Wasn't really a rumor, it was Mike Greeneberg asking Mortenson if the Rams picked up the phone and offered the No. 1 for Ben, would Rooney listen? It was just basically another way of saying "could Ben possibly be traded". The poster likely wasn't paying close attention.Incidently Moretenson answered that the Rams would absolutely not even consider that deal and that he doesn't think the Steelers will look to move Ben.

I think the Pats will start scooping up players when rosters get trimmed down.

While one man's trash may be another man's treasure, one has to wonder what quality will be available combing the waiver wire for retreads from other teams. They may be able to plug some holes with filler or add a guy or two for depth, but it's hard to imagine them getting playmakers or impact players looking mostly at guys that were cut.

I could see Marshawn Lynch to Seattle. They could definitely use a RB of his ability, plus Pete Carroll knows him from the Pac-10. They may be waiting to see what they can get with their two first round picks (#6, #14). Seattle also has two 4th and 5th round picks. They definitely have the cards to make a move for someone if they decide to go that direction.
