What do you think?

This is Leopards only great song IMO. Maybe a few decent ones but nothing great

Juice has these 2 absolute bangers. I couldn’t name a third song but I’d put these 2 3 of both their catalogs and then some filler by Leopard

I think 2 vs 1 on great + a lot of ok gives juice the edge

Juice Newton deserves double-credit for "Angel Of The Morning" as it was a ginormous hit on both the rock and country charts.

Hair maintenance must have been a full-time job for female country stars of the late 70's, early 80's.

Never heard anything off Pyromania , huh?

Ratt vs Poison would have been a better poll, that way we could have had the Ratt Poison thread in honor of the recently deceased Dabney Coleman.

Hate pour some sugar. :yucky:
One of the worst songs ever written by any artist. DL went from being a cool rock band with their first 3 albums to being a pop band in an instant. I still listen to the first 3 albums frequently but nothing after.
It's Mutt Lange's fault but I suppose he made them a lot of money.
Mutt has made a lot of artists a ton of money with his formula. Like his ex-wife, Shania Twain.

I think Hysteria gets a bad rap. I’m not a fan of Pour Some Sugar on Me, but Animal and Armageddon It are great tunes and aren’t any more pop than Photograph. And Run Riot is as rockin’ as most of their early work (though lacking the hook). And Hysteria is a fantastic composition imo, although admittedly softer than tunes like Bringing on the Heartbreak or Too Late for Love. Ultimately, all of the multi-layered vocals and guitars that made the Hysteria album a hit were present on their earlier albums as well. Pyromania was their magnum opus to be sure (imo), but I think Hysteria wasn’t as far a departure as people make out. It’s not at the level of following up And Justice for All with the Black Album.

"Bringin’ On the Heartbreak" is up there with the best metal balladry (an admittedly cheese stick kind of category) ever performed.

Best metal ballads ever hands down no arguments

Motley Crue - On With The Show/Home Sweet Home
L.A. Guns - One Way Ticket
Kix - Don’t Close Your Eyes
Vain - Laws Against Love
Def Leppard - Bringin’ On the Heartbreak
Guns - Sweet Child O’ Mine/Patience

The first recording of Angel Of The Morning was in 1967 by Evie Sands, unfortunately for her, her label Cameo/Parkway filed for bankruptcy at the time it was released, resulting in zero promotion and limited sales.

Bless the FFA. Didn't love that but it is an interesting factoid and I'm glad I listened.

Have people gone cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs in here?

Sure, Juice has had a couple of hits. She's great. Very talented. Love her music. Is it just me, but does she look like she could be Taylor Swifts mother in the videos posted above?

To compare her to Rock -N- Roll HOF legends Def Leppard is, at best, misguided. Photograph, Rock of Ages, Foolin', Too Late for Love, Animal, Armageddon It, Love Bite to name a few. Decades of selling out arena stadiums.

To be fair the current count is firmly in the DL crowd.

Hearing impaired feline: 23
Taylor Swift's mother: 6

several years ago me and a team of alpinists were trapped in a snowstorm in the pir panjal range in southwestern kashmir and we had been days without food drinking only melted snow for sustenance and surviving around a fire made of small tinder that we dug out from under the snowpack when we were confronted by a leopard who looked nearly as hungry as our group fortunately for us roland had been raised in the norweigian fjorldands and was handy with his knife and got the better of the leopard and we ate it and ivers who had spent significant time in biafra and learned to live off the land juiced its marrow to provide us with vitams a b and zinc calcium and selenium and we were able to hold until the spring melt when we left the mountainside mostly intact save swoboda who as a polishman had no real business even having come along on the trek so i do not know about juice newton or def leopard but i do know that juiced leopard is the reason i am here writing this to you take that to the bank bromigos

Agree with this. I think Hysteria has some very solid songs. But their #1 hit from it is not one of them. That song was all about getting the MTV views in the 80s. A number of artists went that route with mediocre tunes ... Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love, Walk This Way from Run DMC, money For Nothing Dire Straits. I don't begrudge Def Leppard for taking their $s. But the best songs on that album barely got to video. Also Juice Newton is <<<<<< Def Leppard

Obviously, DL could choose any path they wanted after Pyro and if their goal was to make a lot of money, they hit a home run with Hysteria. For folks that grew up with the first three albums and loved the guitar-driven rock, Hysteria was very disappointing. Comparing High n’ Dry to Hysteria sounds almost like two different bands.
