The "Liverpool as courageous underdog" narrative is slightly more pretentiously absurd than "mes que un club". If they start winning again, perhaps their nouveau fans will realize they are a massive world-wide brand and drop the David v Goliath act.
As opposed to what? Liverpool the league favorites who out spend everyone?

Oops, no...those two are playing catch up

Packers fans need to be an option. Terrible combination of bandwagon fans who pretend they've always followed the team.

You can tell the difference between bandwagon and honest Packer fans by asking if they know what the term Bay of Pigs means.

Not saying you're wrong, just that you can quickly identify the bad eggs.

I'm from Minnesota and hate the Packers.

I'm from Minnesota, live in Chicago. I don't know what that means.

... notoriously thin-skinned as well
Just slightly annoying when someone jealously tries to take a #### on a magical season.
No one will deny its a great team, great season and deserved champion, but the "plucky working class outsiders" tale is very tired, coming from one of the largest most successful clubs in world history.
Okay, that sounds a little better. Still, I would contend that they are plucky underdogs, given where they have been finishing the past few years, and where they were predicted to finish this year.

Braves fans need to be on there.
Interesting. Not saying you are wrong or right but I'm not sure I've ever heard the Braves brought up in this discussion before. You are in D.C., right? Is it the Superstation Braves fans or something else? I've been a die-hard Braves fan since I could pay attention to it - our fans are apathetic but I don't think obnoxious.

It was Chris Berman's (ETA: As Berman does, it was used into the ground) quote about the Tampa Bay - Green Bay match-ups from the early 80's to the early 90's. Then it ceased to apply (see Brett Favre). Both teams were terrible for a good long time.

Now Minnesota is and will be for a good long time. Good times.

Probably a lot to do with the Chop. That'll put a fanbase in the discussion by itself.

It's also a fanbase that reaches very far outside of ATL. Good chance to run into a lot of dumb, redneck ATL fans about anywhere you go in the South.

It would also be hard for any good Nats fan not to completely loathe everything about the Braves these days.

Being from Detroit, I find almost every Chicago team's fans annoying. I also dislike Yankee and Red Sox fans, especially since they're a dime a dozen down here in Florida. Speaking of which, I find Heat fans very annoying as well.

The Heat fans will just be a seasonal thing. They wont have much to cheer about after this year

The chop is horrid - can't believe they still do it. If that's the reason then sure, I get it.

Agree on generic SEC fan. Also can't wait for the NCAAM poll so I can vote for Kentucky. My wife's obsessed family is already predicting an undefeated season for next year, after predicting an undefeated season for this past season.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up. I could go on and on with details and examples but that's it in a nutshell.

its yankees fans for the reason that it is like having a race between a suped up roadrunner with a blower and nitrous where the guy got spend unlimited money and a yugo where the guy with the yugo had to steal it from a junkyard at night and had to borrow five bucks to gas her up for the race anyone pulling for the roadrunner is a puke bucket because who ever cares if you win the whole thing was not fair from the get go so bam do not be a puke bucket and take that to the bank

Braves fans need to be on there. Same goes for Dr D's suggestion of generic SEC fan.

Prob. should also be more than two NBA entries. Knicks, Celtics and Pacers fans are worse than Heat fans for sure. Could also make a case for Blazers and Spurs, depending on what kind of stuff annoys you. Neither is arrogant or dooshy but they're both very sensitive/overprotective. I don't mind it but lots of other NBA fans hate it.
There only seems to be a strong contigent of Braves fans when they are good enough to win something.
Perhaps. All I know is that I thought it was bad when the Phillies were dominating the NL East, but I was so very wrong. When you long for the days when you had to put up with Philadelphia sports fans, that's saying something.
I just remember when I first moved to TN...there were not many Braves fans. 2 years later they started their run in the 90s and people I had never seen like baseball or talk about it went nuts.

I've never understood a person rooting for the conference to which their favorite team belongs. That, to me, is like rooting for the AL Central or the NFC North.
