Who Is Leonard Fournette's Handcuff/Back-Up ?? (1 Viewer)

All reports are that Leonard will be back this week, but the question is, who do we hold as his handcuff ? Is it Ivory, who seemingly had a lock on the back-up role, or is it now Yeldon, coming off his solid showing in week 7 ? I assume that, like other Fournette owners (who have been delighted with the results thus far this season), we cannot afford to waste 2 roster spots on a handcuff. Presently, in addition to Leonard, I have both Ivory AND Yeldon on my roster, but bye week issues (and potential Freeman injury) have me needing the roster space.

What do you guys think ?

I'm holding onto Yeldon since it is a ppr league. I imagine Ivory and Yeldon would split duties. Yeldon probably more valuable backup in PPR and Ivory might be more valuable in a standard league.

Are you concerned Fournette will not play, have not seen anything to suggest he wont. However, if he goes down, we just saw, you dont know which one will have the bigger game.

Wheels---it is not that I am concerned that Leonard is not going to play (G_d forbid). My concern is more one of a roster space issue and the fact that I really don't have room to carry TWO handcuffs/back-ups to Leonard.

Bumping this up again. Ivory remains listed as the back-up in the depth charts, but everywhere you look (including FBG) they say Yeldon has (or will) overtake him. Can't carry 3 Jags RBs.

What are other Fournette owners doing ?

Yeldon played on 37% of the snaps last week, was utilized 11 times and commanded a 16% target share. Ivory played on a season low 10% of the snaps and was utilized a season low 3 times. The truth is Yeldon has supplanted him as the 3rd down back and actually may hold some stand alone flex value in PPR moving forward with Fournette dealing with a bum ankle. If Fournette were to go down however it'd be a split between Ivory and Yeldon again. So the answer is, they're both handcuffs.

If Fournette were to go down, I think it would be a split with Ivory getting the goaline touches. It was only two weeks ago that he got 20 touches when Fournette wasn’t in the game.

With Leonard a DNP on Friday and a "questionable" listing, this query becomes even more relevant. Seems like the Jags are talking about playing him, but with a reduced workload. Personally I would rather they rest him if he is not fully healthy and then commit to either Ivory or Yeldon.

This has clusterf*ck written all over it and could not come at a worse time as my 5-5 team fights for a playoff spot.

Was that so hard? Another veiled WDIS/WDIA thread.
Jack-off.

It is not a "who do I start question", although I am sure we all appreciate you voluntarily assuming the role of FBG forum policeman. If you had read the thread in its entirety, instead of leaping to an unjustified conclusion, you would know it was part of a question as to who everyone thinks should be carried as his back-up (Yeldon or Ivory). How you twisted that into a "who do I start question" is sketchy at best.

WDIA - Who Do I Add?. BTW thanks for the insult.

All of that was in the Leonard Fournette thread... you know, a thread dedicated to Fournette and guys who had him if you bothered looking. You are 'searching' for some validation but not really searching or believing the facts, and are looking for something so undefined that it can only be seen by the eyes of the blind in the middle of the night.

I'm carrying Ivory in a non-PPR. Limited FA moves made it cost-prohibitive to pick up both.
If LaFo plays on a limited basis I may just throw my hands up. Fournette didn't look good last week.
Browns aren't horrid on D. Could be three guys with an 8-30 stat line.

WTF?

The thread is asking who is the handcuff for a top fantasy back.

Seriously ? Again---who appointed you forum monitor. if you bothered to scroll up to the top, you would see that this thread was started 3 weeks ago. Fairly certain that any Fournette owner would think it is both timely and relevant. And you are right--I did throw an insult at you--in response to your unnecessary sarcasm.

BTW---the second part of your post is quite philosophical. I am super-impressed.

It was very necessary, you missed the whole point of my response.

Three weeks ago this thread was relevant. Now, not really, it's one of two people with similar usage and success over that last few weeks... the same two debated hotly in the Fournette thread. A whole stat breakdown was given for them both; Hell, I just gave you a depth chart and links to both runners to analyze and your first reaction was to insult me :lmao: . Focused on the sarcasm rather than the point being made behind it.

EDIT: I mean #######, I just found 2 threads with great answers and for that question with hard data behind them. C'MON MAN!

The fact that you choose to continue you this is a bit bewildering. Again---who appointed you arbiter of what is and is not appropriate query ? Are you the FBG forum policeman ? If so, do you get a discount on your subscription ? Do you get to wear a badge ?

Given Fournette's status for this weekend, the fact that you don't see my query as being relevant...... well, I don't know how to address that. Other people who posted in this thread did.

The fact that you have a McAdoo avatar is more than a bit ironic, seeing as how he is clueless as a coach.

So, in closing, you C'MON MAN!

Every board has its own culture, and sometimes that culture is opaque to outsiders and newcomers.  Sometimes it even seems stupid to those new arrivals, who want to do things their own way.

I get that.  But to think that it makes sense to come into a place, break its rules, and then mock those who try to gently point them out, seems terribly self-focused and entitled.  Yet it happens over and over again here in the Shark Pool.

FBG Shark Pool has, for years, been organized around the idea of sorting information by player, rather than by week, or by team, or by immediacy of the news.  It has advantages and disadvantages.  Plenty of other sites choose to organize and dispense their information in other ways.  People are free to gravitate to the place that dispenses content in their preferred form.

Going to one of those other sites and mocking them for not letting me post things the Shark Pool way would be just as rude and unreasonable.

Why do people do this sort of thing...

I think they both have a role. In standard I’d go with Ivory, PPR I’d go with Yeldon.
Especially if they run 80+ snaps like they have done the past two weeks, will be plenty of work to go around for both of them and agree with how you see it.

I actually think Yeldon is underrated. He's not terrible, has never been terrible, it's just seems like when he is asked to be the feature back it's to much for him. He's got the size and skillset of a 3 down back but it's just not his game. Been RB's like that over the years, one that comes to mind is Felix Jones. 3 down back size and skills, was a highly effective tandem back in college and NFL but when asked to carry the full load would crack. I see Yeldon in a somewhat similar manner. Skillset of a multi down back but if you ask them to do to much they crap out on you.  The way Yeldon was used last week, the way I think he'll be used this week, is in such a way that I think makes best use of what he has to offer.

Having been a member since 2009, I don't think I qualify as a "newcomer". As far as being an "outsider", perhaps so if there is some clique that I am unaware of. Fact is, that has always been one thing I felt detracted from this great site. How certain people appoint themselves the forum police, and dismissively slam anyone who they believe does not conform to the "rules" as they perceive them to be. I do not believe I broke ANY rules. I did not ask "who to add" or "who to start." The fact that there is already a Leonard Fournette thread means there can't be one focused on who his handcuff/back-up is ?? Really ??  If I did violate 'the rules", I don't believe they were "gently point[ed] out." They were "pointed out" with sarcasm. I am sorry if the fact that I responded makes me "terribly self-focused and entitled." I respectfully disagree.

There is no need to reply further, although I am happy to debate further if you wish.

snap counts show things are trending towards yeldon... was inactive first 6 weeks, then played 33% snaps in game 1 fournette missed,... then 43%... then last week played 36% with ivory only seeing 10%. if you want to make an argument the coaches are liking what they see from yeldon and if fournette is to miss tomorrows game, perhaps yeldon does see over 50% of snaps and most passing work.
