Who is respected in the FF Community? (1 Viewer)

Don't see Hansen mentioned or the KFFL guys. I also like Kirk Bouyelas whom has been out of the loop this year due to Katrina and the fact that he's a NOLA cop doing what he can to help out.I've always been a fan of David Grey's work. Then there's John Troan, any of you RSFF guys remember him? He was one of the first David and Doug stat crunching type guys I can recall. There's alot of guys on this board I respect. I remember when some of the staff members weren't staff members and were "just posters." Many of them have become quite knowledgable and it's pretty cool to "see" over the years. Like most here, I enjoy Wheels' threads alot

my favorite staff writers are bob henry & jason wood... dr. doug drinen, too, of course, but he doesn't do as much site-related writing, being involved in multiple projects like the FBG stats and his baseball & football stat reference sites... ongoing board contributions are still a treat.in IDP, i have a lot of respect for john norton & aaron rudnicki...agreed that yudkin is great at injecting realism into debates (pesky buzz killer). for non-staff, bloom juts out from the message board landscape, makes those around him smarter... & appears to be of extra-terrestrial origin (like the obelisk in 2001 which enabled simian-like creatures to evolve from bone clubs to space stations). :)wheelhouse should be commended for his incisive, ongoing trend analysis... i don't have much use for most in-season fantasy material, even on the big sites...bob harris may be one of the few... he contributes to SI, or used to...fantasy index is a sort of the grand daddy & bible rolled into one for many pre-season... even if they have some wacko predictions, i appreciate their reference level FF research & the fact that they lay their rationale bare... & i always liked expert & consensus rankings by position.in season i like to stay on top of league happenings & trends through actual football writing (non-FF) at usual suspects (espn, si, pfw, sn & usa today) & figure out fantasy implications on my own.for the draft, i find following draft guide publications (in order) to be very authoritative... frank coyle, kiper, pfw & sn. for draft sites, nfl draft countdown & great blue north report are invaluable... & i just discovered it & am still exploring... but it looks like bloom's draft blog shall prove indispensable in the future.

I will nominate LHucks. His rants on why the Pac 10 most the most dominant conference of all time and the USC "dynasty" in 2005 are enough to secure him more than 1 nomination here.

I updated the first post with a list.

Anyone else want to chime in?
Magaw, Herman, Norton, Dowling are all staff.Hansen isn't KFFL. He's fantasyguru.com. I can see how the original poster's way of writing that may have led you to think they were connected, but he was talking about Hansen and KFFL separately.

Thanks Couch Potato, I fixed those mistakes.

One guy who contributes a lot around here and seems to have a good handle on things, and has only been on the board since July of last year (though he may have been here under another name, I don't know), is Keys Myaths. I read his posts with interest. Another favorite MB poster of mine is Just Win Baby. Though there are many other MB guys, and I agree with many already mentioned, I just thought I'd list those two.Oh, and Yudkin among the staff. I find him to be spot-on as often as anyone in the hobby.

No, I wasn't here under a different name.I lurked for about 6 months before posting. I usually like to read more than post, but I liked this community so much that I decided to try and join in. And thanks for the compliment.

I'd like to second (or third, or whatever) the nominations of Bloom and Wheelhouse.

They've been absolutely fantastic with every post, and I literally have searches for their individual posts bookmarked.

One guy who doesn't get enough credit around here is Chris Smith.
does he deserve some? I'd like to add that

Red Raiders

Melvin T Scupper

Jplvr

and some other had some pretty profound posts that held true this season.

No one mentioned the crew at Fox's "Ultimate Fantasy Football" show. They are the most knowledgeable experts in the business. :lmao: Man, it was hard to type that with a straight face. ...or straight fingers, if you prefer.

I would like to put a vote in for newbie staffmember Cecil Lammey. His stuff on the Broncos pre-staffmember was excellent. He has carried that onto his staff duties. His weekly dynasty columns on college players was a breath of fresh air to the pay stuff at FBGs this year.....

Thanks Fin, moneys in your Paypal account! :lmao: There is ALOT more rookie/dynasty stuff coming up at FBG's!  :football: :banned:

Updated with the latest. This is turning into a good list. It might be a nice reference form a newbie to see if he's getting information for a reputable source.

:goodposting: Keys Myaths gave tons of excellent info that helped this rookie tremendously. He has a link called best thread ever :bye: . I'd link it but I don't know how.

I go with bfred. Duking it out over Tom Brady v. Peyton Manning periodically over the last year. I am here with a mea culpa: I have been :own3d: (And, he's usually solid with his football musings outside of New England.)

I gotta give credit to 2 guys who's value and opinions that I have always valued....Aaron Rudnicki and Jason Wood. Both seem to share similar opinions and both, as far as I can tell, seem to not to over analyze fantasy football like many others do.

I'm shocked that we haven't seen:BassNBrewGatormandiesel7892jofferKen Maxwelland some others. And big ups to cobalt, we've had some great debates.

I'd say the whole staff here. I can't really comment on other websites, cause well, quite frankly, I don't go to any others! :D

I enjoy the entire staff, I really do. FBG has done a great job of putting together a quality staff. There are so many good posters. Some who add wit like Couch Potato and Bass N Brew to their topics. You have some that like to go against the grain like Lhucks and, and ...And you have guys who help out in different forums like Keys, Tick, and RavnzfanMy favorite time of the year to be on this board is actually not during the season, but during the offseason. This is where you get to debate strategies, talk about the different league types or discuss football in general.I enjoy doing that with guys like Gatorman, BostonFredwhowantstobeaCowboy, jurb, Bloom, Evilgrin, joffer, ebf, family matters, and so many more.

We are beginning to see why this is such a great site. There are so many respected posters. A tremendous staff that delivers and becomes a big part of the board as well. There are so many great guys/gals that hang here that it would be impossible to name some without disrepecting others. I will say this, collectively this board is one the most powerful tools in fantasy football. Much thanks to all for making it so great!

You have some that like to go against the grain like Lhucks and, and ...
I think that gets lost in LHUCKS' arrogance (edit: which is entirely schtick, IMO)....the fact that he really is a fantastic poster in his own way.In fantasy football, like anything else in life, you need a better strategy than anyone else in order to win consistently.

To have a better strategy, first, you need a *different* strategy. That's what LHUCKS offers, post after post.

Are all of them "better"? No. But a lot of them are hidden gems that a lot of people skip over.

We need more of that...a lot more. Even if people are wrong, it's worth it for the few nuggets of truth we get from them.

the contrarians are very important to spur discussions. if we all agree on someone, then we rarely learn anything about them in our discussion.

LOL, i like the FFA flava to your post. What about Sandbagger?

First post updated again.Family Matters is right we are seeing why this is a great site. I think what would be helpful is to turn the focus on the so called "experts", any others out there that are respected or deserves some credit? Before coming to FBG I used to like FF Champs, anyone else?

We did this awhile back - maybe 10 people rated their picks. I think I was one of the worst.
