Your recollection is also my recollection....good point made.Guys this is personal opinion, but worth reading.
I had Warner earlier in the season and I remember the commentators in one of the games said something like Green was committed to Warner and promised him he would be the starter if he was healthy (so that there would be no repeat of the Trent Green incident). Dennny Green loves Warner and wants him to succeed.
My theory is that the only reason Denny Green waited until Wednesday to say he knew the starter was because he wanted to make sure Warner was a 100% before he would rule him starter. Plus, I think it only makes sense to keep it a mystery unless you are going to surprise the other team, which Warner would be.
That's my amatuer opinion, but I just thought I'd give a warning that it may not be as cut and dry as it may seem.
I traded McCown earlier this week because I didn't want to risk it.
That's the first thing wrong with your post...Guys this is personal opinion, but worth reading.
That may be true... but I bet he loves winning even more. McCown has been nothing short of spectacular. He has 3 INTs, but they were all on deflections...I had Warner earlier in the season and I remember the commentators in one of the games said something like Green was committed to Warner and promised him he would be the starter if he was healthy (so that there would be no repeat of the Trent Green incident). Or you could look at it this way... if what you say is true (Denny promised Warner he would start when healthy), then wouldn't McCown be the suprise? Just saying it can go both ways...My theory is that the only reason Denny Green waited until Wednesday to say he knew the starter was because he wanted to make sure Warner was a 100% before he would rule him starter. Plus, I think it only makes sense to keep it a mystery unless you are going to surprise the other team, which Warner would be.
Here's my imitation of you next week:I traded McCown earlier this week because I didn't want to risk it.
Unfortunately this is a what have you done for me lately league and there is so much pressure to win now that if your team is losing and you get hurt and your backup comes in and outplays you and the team wins, you have a chance of losing your job regardless of what the coach told you at the beginning of the season. Not saying that McCown will start, I have no idea who will, just saying that I wouldn't put too much stock into anything a coach said over a month ago.I had Warner earlier in the season and I remember the commentators in one of the games said something like Green was committed to Warner and promised him he would be the starter if he was healthy (so that there would be no repeat of the Trent Green incident).
McCown to start for Cardinals Josh McCown, QB ARINews: According to the Cardinals' official game notes, Josh McCown will start in Week 7 vs. Tennessee. Analysis: McCown is a great pick for the week as he should continue his great passing against Tennessee's soft secondary.
http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/players/playerpage/12797Cardinals QB Kurt Warner will back up Josh McCown in Week 7 vs. Tennessee. There were rumors that he may start, but official game notes have the Cardinals going with McCown.(Updated 10/23/2005).
im pretty sure thats its stated on sportsbook and other online betting sites "MUST START".good idea otherwise. On sportsbook.com under the player props here are the Cardinal lines:
Josh McCown-total completions over/under 23.5
Josh McCown-longest completion over/under 39.5 yards
If you really think Warner is starting-go bet the house...
I didn't think of that! Edited to add: Although on the site it does say "MUST PLAY" not "MUST START"im pretty sure thats its stated on sportsbook and other online betting sites "MUST START".good idea otherwise. On sportsbook.com under the player props here are the Cardinal lines:

My thoughts as well.. I have Bulger and Martin. Just picked up Volek and I am going with him.I also have J Martin as a possible starter due to Bulger's injury.
My plan is to start McCown, but if he doesn't look to be the starter right before the game, I will drop J. Martin and add Volek. Holt is now OUT for J Martin, so Volek is probably an equal starter as compared to Martin.
YES can we please do this...Can we keep this going until we get definitive word...for those of us that can wait to make a decision.
