Who is your Biggest Draft Regret so far? (1 Viewer)

And he did kick butt yesterday. 300/3 and a 137 rating. Granted the Rams are beat up, but so are the 49ers offensive skill position players.
That was the point to my original comment. He was not "kicking butt" until he played the less than ideal Rams defense.
His numbers were really good against the Vikings too 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yesterday, he was 22/30 with 4 drops. 100 percent on target rate with an ADT of 11 yards. That’s a great game regardless of who you’re playing.
Don't get me wrong. I do believe he is a good QB and perfect for what SF does.

Gibbs over Barkely
LaPorta (even w/o injury)
Pitts
Not having Rice on all my teams

Pitts probably tops the list because he's made it painfully obvious that he stinks.

If Pitts goes into the endzone last night, he looks a little better. And that no-call on him was absolute utter garbage. But yeah, I loaded up on Pitts too and it hurts. All TE picks that came early have hurt.

Funny how he’s kicking butt without CMC, Deebo, Kittle, and Pearsall.
It was against the Rams not great defense so simmer down a bit. His first two games were pedestrian at best and then even in this one he didn't get it done when he needed to.
What? Lol

He played great. Bell drops one right in his hands that cost the game. Can only throw the pass perfectly. Up to the WR to catch it. This loss wasn’t on Purdy.
Think they had 6 drops yesterday. Should have blown them out

Waddle is by far my #1 and his situation won't change anytime soon. Can't drop and has limited trade value in the trade market.

Player I did take that I regret - Andrews. I've never been a "take a top 3 TE early" guy but I drafted on the end this year, and a mini-run had just started when it got to me. I knew if I didn't take him or Pitts that by the time it got back to me I'd be looking at Njoku/Goedert or worse. Wishing now I'd have taken Nabers or Kamara or hell just about anybody and just taken whatever TE was available in the 12th.

Player that I could have taken but didn't - took Gibbs over Barkley. Still think some Gibbs boom games are coming, but Barkley looks incredible in Philly.

I was high on Barkley, but in 3 redrafts I had picks.
2 - CMC
3 - Lamb
4 - Lamb
Didn't want to draft Barkley that high.
Then after taking CMC, I wanted Kupp. He was gone so I took Nacua. Either would have been bad.
Took Swift as RB 2 in one league.
Missed on handcuffs Charbonnett and Mason.
Was able to trade for Charbs and Mason was dropped before week 1, so I picked him up.

Did a lot of drafts and got tons of things I'd like a do over on but will simply mention an overriding philosophy that impacted multiple teams.

Key to note is these are all FFPC, TE premium teams.

My issue is was how I handled TE with my second or very early third round picks.

I had 14 players, down to 13 after Puka's injury that I was picking over any TE. One those 13 were gone I felt like the cliff fell off. QB was not a consideration. The top drafted WR's here were usually London, Marvin or post-injury Puka and I honestly did not see them as any better then the options I could get in round 3 into early-mid round 4. The top drafted RB's in his range were Achane, Henry and ETN and again I felt like could get as good as them in round 4-5. This part was all sound.

But TE, that was different, especially if you had an early round one pick. So let's say a pick in the 1-6 type range. I was not that high on Engram or PItts but I never did a draft where they were my top ranked player at 3.6 and usually they were off the board when I'm picking 4.7 or not my highest ranked player. I did not draft either of them, that's not the issue of course just saying I knew I was not likely to draft either of them and that impacted how I normally handled round 2/early 3.

Typically the next TE to go was Kittle, who I liked way more in BB and drafted him a lot in that format, but not at all in a format I had to set a lineup.

So the next two TE's on my list were Ferguson and Njoku with Bowers basically the last resort for what I viewed as a high caliber starting TE and even Bowers I did not trust to being the season. The problem was if you did not draft one of these TE's in round 5 you often could not get one in round 6 and if you took Njoku or Bowers in rd 5 you were usually reaching 1-1.5 rounds.

So long story short when those top 13-14 players were gone I was picking a lot of TE's in mid to late round 2/early round 3 on the notion that if I did not pick Ferguson in rd 5 or reach 1-1.5 rounds on Njoku or Bowers in rd 5 I could get totally shut out on what I viewed as one of the 11 TE's I felt offered legit upside. And fwiw if Njoku or Bowers made it back to me in round 6 I was ready to them as my second TE, and glad I did on some Laporta/Kincaid teams.

So that's my big mistake, the process which led me to take a lot of TE's early though thankfully McBride was the one I took the most and I actually am good with that pick, and Kelce and Andrews were the two I took the least and that was mainly to cover my bases at least once if I was wrong about them. I was mainly into the young TE's, McBride, Laporta and Kincaid. Still got some hope, but when I think of a lot of the non-TE's I was mulling over them, espeically Laporta and Kincaid, it gives me the downies.

Bonus: FFPC putting the same guy, one of the all time high stakes players, 1-2 picks in front of me in 3 Main Event drafts who proceeded to snipe Nabers from me 1-2 picks in all 3 drafts. That's not a me regret, but it burned at me then and does so even more now despite the fact I ended up getting some Nabers later.

Latest Nabors seemed to go in FFPC was rd. 3-- 3rd or 4th pick. I manage to get him a lot, sometimes in 2nd rd. late. Biggest regret: not taking D. Henry in everything including pick 6 in 1st rd. His stiff arm alone is worth the price of admission.

CMC with no news from everywhere I looked and heard that it would this bad after Shanny had said "if this was a playoff game, he would be out there."

Richardson as QB5 in the fifth of my 10 teamer. I console myself slightly that the QBs I might have taken instead, Stroud in particular, haven't been a lot better. In fact QB play in general has been poor overall. That said, you can see Stroud getting better over the season, Richardson just blows, especially when the rushing isn't there to save his floor.

Over the years I have been a huge fan of the Kubiaks and their RB's. I made those RB's a priority.
This year I completely slept on Kamara and continue to kick myself for passing on him.

Also, taking JT over Barkley.
Kamara with a down game this week and still scored 14 points.

Punting on QB in two of my leagues. In one I waited and got TLaw and Herbert. In another I was going to take Goff, but I figured every other team already had a QB so I could take CWatson and wait for Goff to come back to me. Of course the Hurts manager snaked me on Goff. So I took Tua and then Herbert again.

In the first league I already dropped Herbert for Carr, who crapped the bed as soon as I got him. In the other I'm down Tua and now possibly Herbert as well. And it's a 14-teamer so there's bupkis on the WW.

Then again, how many people are really happy with their QBs so far? LJax, Allen and Kyler have had some down games, but if you have them you've seen enough to feel good going forward. Maybe the same with Daniels as well. But if you took Hurts, Mahomes, Richardson, Stroud, Caleb or Burrow, you're probably questioning that decision. (Dak is in his own category. He's put up some numbers, especially yesterday, so maybe you're happy with that, but that is simply not a good offense right now.)

Okay, changing mine....

"Not punting QB in all my non-SF redraft leagues and waiting to be the last guy to draft Daniels as my #1 like I toyed around with."
