Who will have the biggest game week 9 off the WW (1 Viewer)

This is not who is most valuable the rest of the way - this is who do we think will have the biggest game week 9 (ie a Kenny Stills or Marvin Jones like performance).

Right now I have McCluster vs Buffalo as a candidate.

Thinking Coradelle Paterson might have something to offer after against Dallas.

Any others?

Good question. I need a big performance too... Last week I figured Stills and Marvin Jones were the best options and I guessed correctly. This week I haven't looked at the matchups enough yet. Anyone have thoughts on this?

I like Manny Sanders this week, and I don't own him. The Pats secondary is banged up, and if Talib is a no go, think he'll blow up this week.

I will second the vote on Dex. I believe the Bills are the No. 1 matchup in terms of FFPA to WRs. He could become a PPR wonder and if he has another (third) good week there may be a rush to get him.

Just keep in mind that two of Ginn's clunkers came against plus match-ups in MIN/STL. ATL has given up a healthy amount of big plays this year (7 passes of 40+ yards) but Ginn is the epitome of boom/bust. It's been fun watching him evolve into a real WR though.

As an aside there always seems to be so much WR potential on the WWs on a week to week basis. After losing Julio in my big money league I though it'd be impossible to even remotely mimic his production with WW fodder but I was wrong.

Agree with this. But you have to recognize WW fodder for what it is. One week of production and then toss it back quick. Case in point, picked up and started Kerley for 23 pts in PPR, tossed him back to the wire. Thanks Kerley, you can get off my team now. I wanted to pick up Stills last week and start him, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. Now that he's had his big week, I'll let others blow up their budget. I doubt he does much this week. It's all about trying to catch lightning in a bottle, else they wouldn't be on your waiver wires in the first place.

Good points by both of you. I think WR is the easiest position to replace on a weekly basis because with so many teams throwing so much there are more options at that position than anywhere else. There's inherent risk involved because these guys are unlikely to be No. 1 options on their teams. But if you hit on a Kerley or Brandon Gibson or Vincent Brown the right week it can pay off. It's a crapshoot but the good news is each week (even this one and last with 6 teams on byes) there are likely plentiful options to choose from in most leagues.

Back on topic I'll throw out DeAndre Hopkins as someone who could deliver this week if he's on the WW.

Good response. I am curious about Drew Davis this week.

I mentioned this in his dedicated threat but the fact that Foles is starting this week makes Cooper a very appealing flex option in PPR leagues. With Foles under center Cooper put up a 10/208/1 stat line through two games. OAK has ceded the 2nd most receptions to WRs on a per game basis (ironically PHI has given up the most) so yeah, I'd actually feel pretty comfortable spot starting him.

Switching my pick from Tolbert to Stewart. Someone on the Panthers is going to feast on ATL and Stewy just smells like that guy right now with all the good vibes coming out of practice.

13 carries, 2 catches, 70 total yards, 0.65 TD reasonably expected, with upside from there IF he's truly 100% healthy and he gets hot.

Next 5 pass defenses he faces are all ranked in the 20's from the stats I saw.

Just picked up Marvin Jones last night, Stills the week before. I think both of these guys can continue on with decent numbers.

maybe buts unlikely. neither one get many targets. they have been hitting pay dirt when they touch the ball at an alarming rate.

I've been looking, no word on Nelson yet but NYJ's receiving corps have all been decimated by injuries. I'd keep an eye on it just to see who emerges healthy.

I think there's value to be had in NO right now with Colston on the decline and Graham hurting. My gut tells me Moore is the guy to own as he was even productive when being eased in last week (only played 39% of snaps). Stills undoubtedly has the most upside but in the long run I think Moore is most likely to consistently produce.

Manny Sanders is a good choice.

McCluster in PPR.

With Hayden likely checking Torrey Smith, I like Marlon Brown this week for 75+ and a TD.

I've heard Browns name dropped a couple times now as a sleeper and although it's quite possible that he has a decent game his early year production was almost solely a product of attrition. I don't feel like looking up and laying out the full picture right now (weekly snaps and utilization) but even the mere fact that Jones saw 8 targets to Brown's 4 before they went into their bye is an awful sign for Brown's redraft prospects. I think the dude is super talented but it is and always will be about opportunity.

Also, Brown has only topped 70 yards once this year. He'll be very TD dependent this week, with a something like a 4/50/1 stat line, IMO, being the realistic best case scenario.

I agree, without doing my homework, Marlon Brown is an upside play that is TD dependent, the targets particularly in the red zone have fallen off since the early season. Pretty dicey proposition to start him given his new adjusted floor over the last few games. Plus he's been hurt. Maybe he's gotten better over the bye. I think I'd want to see a "prove it" game before I jumped back on the Marlon Brown train.

McCluster is an interesting cat. Always liked him, but never understood why they don't use him more. Maybe it's the blocking or lack of. Maybe he's a guy who fits into specific gameplans that attack weaknesses of specific teams. Like a special weapon. Still, you can't deny his targets have ramped up the last two weeks, and last weeks 10 targets is noteworthy, especially in a checkdown offense with no reliable TE's.

I think you are right about Lance Moore. But my homerun out of nowhere pick is Drew Davis. If we are just going by our gut.
Wasn't Davis' TD in Garbage time? low targets before this game too....
Who cares if it was garbage time. Those stats count just as much. What matters is snap counts pct. and he logged 87% of the snaps over the last two weeks. The key is if Roddy stays inactive. No reason to expect his targets to decrease if Roddy is out.

baldwin would seem like a good choice

super risky but could pay out big : robert turbin

the hawks should be up big by half and if lynch is banged up no reason to keep him in longer when you have a good back up.

maybe turbin logs something like 75 and a td

No, you'd be wrong. Davis was targeted 5 times in the first 3 quarters (3 in the first half), and one was called back on a penalty. He finished the game with 7 targets officially.

i'll tell you on tuesday

but seriously,, i'll take a guess at cole beasely going against the terrible vikings
I see a lot of love for Beasley, but why not Terrance Williams over Beasley?
Because Williams is likely only available in 4-team leagues. He is a consensus high-end WR2 this week.

The main thing that concerns me about Davis is the match-up. CAR is allowing the 6th least PPG to opposing WRs this year. They've allowed 2 TDs to WRs all year. In a plus match-up however I'd be all over him as a sleeper.

Carolina has faced such light em-up QBs such as Russell Wilson, EJ Manuel, Eli Manning, Carson Palmer, Matt Cassel, Sam Bradford, Mike Glennon. Wilson and Glennon had the best performances....

Cole Beasely had 7 and 3 targets the last two weeks respectively. I think Dallas will run a lot too...

this.. beasely was probably cut by some after last weeks game.. if williams is on your wire then im not sure who your playing with

Doug Baldwin

Especially if Schiano finally gets a clue to use their $100 million press man-2-man corner in press man-2-man coverage after 8 weeks.

Guess it's not all on Schiano...

"Bucs CB Darrelle Revis said he hasn't been healthy enough to play press coverage this season."

Also Nelson, who intrigued me:

"Jets WR David Nelson was added to Thursday's injury report with a quad issue, getting in a limited session." However Jets beatwriter noted he is stretching today and doing individual drills.

Also, Roddy White was practicing today. So downgrade Drew Davis....

Looks like McCluster is the best option this week to produce off waivers. At least in PPR leagues.

Haden will follow Torrey so Brown has a shot to be productive

I'll add Chris Ivory (possible he was dropped after last week & that he's done nothing outside the NE game).

I expect the Jets to pound the ball at home (and keep Saints off the field). Saints giving up league worst 4.8 YPC. Team is 3-1 at home this year. Even if the Jets don't win, I expect it to be competitive enough to keep Ivory active against his former mates.

Great topic for discussion. I see a lot of WR's but what about any RB sleepers out there for Week 9? What about the likes of Ivory, Greene, JStew, Starks, Boldin or others that folks have some inside info or hunches about?

That's a trip. I have been thinking McCluster is a nice play this week too as I look for a bye-week plug and play. Getting more involved and Buff gives it up to WR's. hmmmmmmmmmm
