***Wild Card Game Thread*** Green Bay at Philadelphia (1 Viewer)

Terrible awareness by rookie Riley Cooper right there. Could have prevented the INT, and then he didn't even bother to tag the defender after he caught the INT.

Lots of chances for Eagles to win that one, get one of those missed field goals or if Celek didnt have a half foot out of bounds, and the Eagles could have won.

Vick had a hell of a season. Too many holes to overcome though in the end. I think it will be interesting to see him next year after a full offseason of being the guy.

Sucks for the Eagles. They definitely had their chances to win this.

Things are setting up nicely for the Packers. I think they're Super Bowl bound.

whoah. Cooper gave up on that pass.
Thought so to at first but it was just a bad decision, thought it was going high so he gave up the inside to go for the jump ball
yea he didnt quit on the pass, he just ran to where he thought the ball would be, it ended up being about 2 feet too low and 2 yards too short so he had no chance, i guess he could've tried to grab williams' jersey if he could reach out that far and just take the PI.

 At that point you have to do whatever you can to get a shot at the ball. Not sure he could of though. Perhaps he could of come back some, but it was a great play by williams, other than the fact he should of just gone down in the end zone

I don't think that Cooper quit on the pass but he should have tried to disrupt the INT. Not that I care since I was rooting for the Pack.

Not sure about dogging Akers on the first miss but the second one was a gimme esp for a guy his caliber.

Glad to see that after all the yammering about Starks in these boards he finally does something!

Andy Reid's press conference starts with "We got to do a better job as players and coaches.........". How many times have you heard that, Eagles fans?

What's wrong with that? What else is he supposed to say? I've never understood the hatred of his pressers..

Yeah, way to do go up and fight for it you dip####. God that team was pathetic to watch today, in so many ways.
Not to dump on them too much but there were about 6 times in the 2nd half I said "these guys don't deserve to win".
It really is mind-blowing to me, that stuff. I'll never get it. I can grasp the players being dumb, but how do the coaches not have them more prepared for everything? Reid sucks, it is ultimately his class of kids, wouldn't you say, professor? :goodposting:

1st half thoughts...

- Bad early call or not? Underwood was blocking but then an Eagle grabbed him by the jersey and pulled him in the opposite direction, onto the ball. What the hell kind of call was that?

- Interesting move with Bulaga at RT. I think it;s the right move on the road for a rookie's first playoff game.

- I laughed at Aikman's line about Eric Walden after he forced a fumble. "I thought his 15 minutes of fame was up after last week. I guess not."

- Heads up play by Scott Wells to quick snap, getting a defensive penalty on 3rd down. The series before ended when Jennings dropped a 3rd down pass and another quick punt would have hurt.

- Woodson spying seemed to work in the first half. The only play where Vick really got loose was when Woodson dropped into coverage. While spying he even made a nice run stop to stop on a draw,

- B.J. Raji and Clay Matthews have looked good. Matthews with decent pressure and a big sack and Raji had nice back-to-back plays when he tracked down McCoy on a screen and then tipped a pass. Not many blitzes though.

- Not sure if Rodgers has had more than one drop longer than 3 steps. McCarthy is calling plays where he gets the ball out of his hands in a hurry. You just knew they were setting up a deep ball. It worked perfectly, too bad James Jones flat out dropped it.

- Overall it was a really good half for Green Bay but in true Packers form they're gonna make it interesting by leaving a play or two on the field.

3rd quarter and half way through the 4th...

- Will the Pack be able to control the clock with Starks?

- The offense concerted four 3rd downs in a row, then Rodgers got sacked and lost the ball. That was a nice play by Parker but overall the Pack have owned 3rd downs

- The Vick to Avant TD pass was perfect. Avant ran a great route on Bush...Vick wouldn't have made that throw as a Falcon

- Darren Colledge has been poor in run blocking and drew a holding penalty to boot. He did make up for it a bit on the TD screen to Jackson (even though he didn't hit anybody he was the wall out there)

- GB perfect in red zone so far. ARod 5-5, 3 TD

- Akers missing two field goals, he's normally money. Those points feel very, very big right now

- I know Collins is a Pro Bowler but normally you see him making plays in the passing game. His open field tackle of Vick was awesome.

- Even with the lead I wish Dom Capers would go after Vick with more blitzes.

Whew...

- When the Eagles got stuffed and had a 4th and 1 why did Andy Reid call a timeout? The offense has to be ready for that.

- Nick Collins is very fortunate that he didn't get flagged for that hit on Celek. Not as fortunate as Tramon Williams was that he didn't get the ball ripped from him while he was celebrating after the pick. Oof.

- Another nail biter but a well earned victory. The Packers outplayed the Eagles today and I'm happy McCarthy and Rodgers have this monkey off their back now.

Things are falling in place very nice for the Packers. We got a great shot to get to the SB now :lmao:
Not sure why they now have to go into Atlanta it could not get any worse for an NFC team  Atlanta will not give a game away like a Philly team does. You have to play a complete game. If GB wins this game they then have to play at Chicago and will have a more then tough time doing that 2 times in a row.Looks to me like as tough of a road as you could ask for in the NFC.

Congrats to the Packers, they earned that. Am I the only one that thought that Matthews wave bye bye to the eagles fans was poor sportsmanship?
