Will Rodgers be back in week 15 ? (1 Viewer)

No one knows. Depends on the Packers next two games, how he holds up in practice over the next two weeks, and a number of other factors.

He's about as good of a bench stash as there is, and I'm banking on him returning so I have him stashed, but no one knows right now, not even the Packers.

My only concern is that he has , Carolina and Minnesota 15, and 16, hope it doesn’t blow up in my face, but my other opinions aren’t great, Taylor and Carr, but Taylor has great matchups.

I think he's 100% worth a shot. He could easily come back and instantly be a top-5 QB. Matchups aren't great, but matchups have almost never mattered for Rodgers.

If he's playing you start him.
Eh, depends on who youve got. I've got Russell Wilson and would start him over Rodgers in Week 15, just for fear of a reinjury that game, and Wilson's got a much better match-up Week 16. Rodgers is more of a bench stash to keep my opponents, some of whom are very QB needy, from playing him against me in the playoffs.

Packers won't win the next two, so it's not worth speculating on his health.

That said, I think it's far more likely that Rodgers has a career threatening injury right now.....than that he comes back in week 15 and stays in one piece the rest of the year.

They can't beat Tampa (at home) and Cleveland?

To me it's less likely he's cleared medically than the Packers not winning their next two

I picked him off the waivers and stashed him on my injury bench.

I have Brees and Goff, so it’s a defensive move keeping him away from other owners. ?

100% inaccuate. Could easily win next 2 games, and there is no indication  at all Rodgers isn't ok to play today, if he wasn't on IR.

Dude has a plate in his shoulder.  One hit the wrong way could end his career.  Pure speculation by me, but it isn't illogical.

There was no official announcement but the Packers used their second designation to return from IR on Rodgers on Saturday.  Four things need to happen in order for him to start week 15.

1.  Packers are in wildcard contention.  This is far different than actually making the playoffs.  If they are NOT out of it then it counts.

2.  He is medically cleared by the docs.  Next Monday after the Browns game they will give Rodgers a CT scan.  Dr. David Chao said if it is 85% healed then he will be medically cleared.

3.  The player agrees to play.  Just check this one off.  You know Rodgers is chomping at the bit to play.  Especially week 16 against the Vikings who broke his collarbone.

4.  Team (HC, Owner, GM) agrees to let him play.

You know what is illogical?  You claiming they won't win their next two games.  At home against Tampa, which they won.  And now Cleveland.

You also said that you think it's FAR more likely that he has a career threatening injury right now.  Totally logical, the Packers and Rodgers risking all that.

Man, you are trying way too hard here, it's comical.

First, he has two plates.  And they are cobalt chromium plates fused together by 13 screws.  He will have this until he retires.  Second, his collarbone will be stronger than before the break.  It will also be harder to re-break because of these two plates.

All this according to Dr. David Chao.

to be fair, they tried pretty hard to lose that game yesterday.

This is what I don't understand about the argument that he couldn't play this year due to the plates.  What would be any different in the future.

Glad to be wrong.  It happens.

Great post. Minor nitpicking but it's champing at the bit. Not chomping.

Here in 'Merica we say chomping at the bit.  Only feminine furiners say otherwise.
I agree it's an incredibly American thing to be aggressively incorrect and pretend it's the other person who is an idiot because their fragile ego can't handle ever being mistaken.

Nailed it.

Assuming his CT scan looks good this week, he most definitely will be playing.  I guess the question for fantasy owners is - are you going to play him?

Normally, the wait and see approach is advised for players coming off injury.  But, it will be hard to sit Rodgers if he is cleared medically and gets the start against the Panthers.

Still a little premature, but I expect to start him this week over Alex Smith.

I’ll be benching him, but I only because I also have Brady(scooped and stashed Rodgers after the injury).

However, if I had anyone else as my normal starter(other than maybe Russel Wilson), I’d have no hesitation starting Rodgers this week

If I magically win my playoff matchup tonight, I will happily start him over Matt Ryan next week. I don’t foresee anyone arguing with me about rolling those dice. Although with my luck this year Ryan will finally go off.

I would guess Rodgers will be back in week 15.  If the Packers lose to the Panthers and the best the Packers can do is 9-7, do they play him in week 16?  Or would there be a fabricated "setback" since they would basically be eliminated.
