For the record, Parker is now the 5th leading rusher in the AFC with 490 yards....more than Holmes, R.Brown, C.Brown, D.Davis, Droughns, Dillon, L.Jordan and J.Lewis.
You'd think all this animosity towards a player would be directed more at one of those AFC backs listed above, many of whom have no competition in their backfields.
Pretty evident the combo of lack of experience, lack of pedigree and the fact he was a waiver claim or high-round draft pick in many leagues led to many wanting him to fail....

you'll want to start him in games where you think PIT wil get a lead and then grind it out the rest of the time. The Steelers next 4 games are against Balt twice, against Cleveland and against Green Bay. I'm going to have a tough time sitting him for any of those games, I think.I don't hate FWP, but I'm wondering if he's a comfortable start every week.
Do you feel confident week in and week out that he will touch the ball 20 times, that he'll get goal line carries, that he'll be a factor in the passing game.
His overall numbers are very good, but I'm not sure I'd be confident he'd produce on a weekly basis -- not that tons of other RBs with a better pedigree are doing much of anything (Jamal Lewis, Kevin Jones etc.)
Today, absolutely, but was he dancing last week? The week before? You don't have to worry about it. At this point he's on someone elses team, and that guy is dancing.
Probably, after all he got Parker incredibly late.Today, absolutely, but was he dancing last week? The week before? You don't have to worry about it. At this point he's on someone elses team, and that guy is dancing.
? What does that have to do with anything now, though? If you start a guy and he nets you 40 total yards, you're probably not happy no matter how late you got him, right?Probably, after all he got Parker incredibly late.Today, absolutely, but was he dancing last week? Well, you are still happy you have him. I doubt many Willie Parker owners have had to start him the past few weeks unless they were in a bye week crunch, again because they were able to get him so late. Every running back has down games now and then, that doesn't mean you go and assume he is done, finished, like many have done with Parker.? What does that have to do with anything now, though? and this relates to Willie Parker in what way?Pretty incendiary for a staff/mod or whatever, in the first place. BTW, the iggles will not win the NFC East. McNabb is NOT the same since his injury. Actually, even b4 that, their future was in ???. He's had plenty of chances to reach the Pinnacle...hasn't done it.
That division has had too many dominant figures for too long. The iggles had their chance (several X) and blew it. The inevitable cyclical pattern has re-emerged and phillie has been passed over. It's time for someone else to emerge. Whether it be Dallas or Wash or the Giants, time is against YOU!

That's a factor I'm sure, TC.JHaters, they couldnt wait for FWP to fail because they missed out on him.Is there a more embarrassing thread on these forums?![]()
This I can agree with big time, though again, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable starting him every week. The point is, the guy who picked him up off the waiver wire last week (for nothing), is feeling pretty good about that right now. This board has a certain trend to it this year.

You wouldn't have to, because he was either a waiver wire or late round pickup. This I can agree with big time, though again, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable starting him every week. The point is, the guy who picked him up off the waiver wire last week (for nothing), is feeling pretty good about that right now. so you never start waiver wire or late round pickups? Say you've got Willie Parker but also Jamal Lewis, who is underferforming big time. Who do you go with? Or maybe you had Deuce go down -- now you have to replace him. Parker could be a great replacement, provided he's relatively consistant. There are lots of struggling RBs right now, I'm sure MANY people are relying on Parker. You wouldn't have to, because he was either a waiver wire or late round pickup. This I can agree with big time, though again, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable starting him every week. The point is, the guy who picked him up off the waiver wire last week (for nothing), is feeling pretty good about that right now. Well, if I am forced to start him because of an injury (like to Deuce) or major dissapointment (like Jamal Lewis) then if I lose as a result, I don't blame FWP, I blame Lewis or Deuce. It would be like blaming Shaun McDonald for a loss after losing Javon Walker.so you never start waiver wire or late round pickups? He's got the carries the last few weeks, and went for 131 and a score today. Did I miss something?Just to add, I don't think FWP is a clear start every week.
I didn't get him late, and am starting him every week with much success.7th round pick WCOFF league 57He's got the carries the last few weeks, and went for 131 and a score today. Did I miss something?Just to add, I don't think FWP is a clear start every week.
I tried to warn people about Lewis this year, but was thrown under the bus---fineI own WParker in a couple leagues, and had 5W's going into this week in each league....because of Parker?Say you've got Willie Parker but also Jamal Lewis, who is underferforming big time. Shame on those who doubted me. I'm Fast Willie Parker!!! I cannot be stopped!!!
Also, I would like to thank Smoo, Babu Bhatt, and Keys Myaths for being cool guys.

you tell 'em willie!
Trade FWP in a keeper? No way. I knew I was going to keep him, then I was unsure, now it's definite (unless he remains a Steeler and they draft a RB like LenDale)Attention all FWP owners, you get a second chance to trade him, don't miss the BUS this time![]()
With Ed Reed and Ray Lewis out, I like FWP this week too. Tommy Polley is going to get gashed on some nice cutbacks. I am starting him and a (hopefully) refreshed Stephen Davis.Week 7 goes to the FWP supporters...Week 8?![]()

I'm still enjoying you Willie and if that's wrong then I don't want to be right![]()

I agree, FWP is one of my few bright spots this year and I can keep him next year for a 14th round pick. Couple that with Dominick Davis (PPR league) in the 8th and hopefully a quality stud like LT/SA/EJ in the first round and my running game might look good on paper, like my WRs did this year before all of them got hurt in some shape or form.Trade FWP in a keeper? As I pointed out in the "Willie Parker is a dud" thread, the Steelers have a GREAT schedule from here on out. Baltimore and Cleveland twice, the NFC North, Cincy and Indy. Not too many good rush defenses in that group. You should have been trading FOR Parker.Attention all FWP owners, you get a second chance to trade him, don't miss the BUS this time![]()
until he gets into his perrenially dinged up mode and parker takes over again.Seeing Duce play well makes me feel better about trading Willie for a 1st in my dynasty league.
We'll see. Parker is dinged up too.I'll take the 1st round pick that might end up being top 4 over having to decide which weeks will be the right weeks to play Parker.until he gets into his perrenially dinged up mode and parker takes over again.Seeing Duce play well makes me feel better about trading Willie for a 1st in my dynasty league.
