Winslow Owners? (1 Viewer)

Just heard on local radio here in Columbus (1460 theFan) that he is basically Day to Day and wouldn't be surprised if KW2 held out of practice and tested himself prior to the start of the game.

I have not heard anything official out of Cleveland as of yet, but some of the posters on the Dawg Boards are hearing that he is okay and just doesn't want to aggrivate it.

Last article I found on Winslow...

Winslow Ailing After Raiders Game

BEREA: Browns coach Romeo Crennel said tight end Kellen Winslow bruised a shoulder against the Oakland Raiders, presumably on the last drive, when he caught passes of 33 and 23 yards to help the Browns set up their final field-goal attempt.

In the locker room Monday, Winslow had his left shoulder wrapped and not in the sleeve of his T-shirt. He was wearing an electric stimulator.

''It's a little banged up. He'll be there if he can,'' Crennel said of Sunday's home game against the Baltimore Ravens.
One thing to keep in mind is that Winslow also played with a bad knee last season. I would think that he will tough it out and play this week, as without him the Browns stand no chance on Offense. He is most likely a GTD, but I think he'll tough it out and play.

Kellen's Winslow's life is day to day. Get used to it and enjoy his production.

I'll be amazed if he isn't wheelchair bound at 40 years of age.

Update from RotoWorld. This smells like a gametime decision:

Kellen Winslow will miss practice Wednesday due to a shoulder sprain.

The injury was initially disclosed as a bruise. Winslow's all-out play leads him to be banged up often, and his status may not be known until later in the week. "It's pretty sore," Browns coach Romeo Crennel confirmed.

Just heard on WTAM that he has a "slightly separated " shoulder and will be held out of practice most of the week but expected to play on sunday.

Another update from RotoWorld:

Updating a previous report, Kellen Winslow has been diagnosed with a partially dislocated left shoulder.

The medical term is a "mild subluxation" of the shoulder. The Browns at first called Winslow's shoulder bruised, then "sprained." Winslow, who has been receiving electric stimulation for the injury, is uncertain to play against Baltimore. He says he will, but missed all of practice Wednesday.

Sep 26 Winslow didn't practice Wednesday because of a partially dislocated left shoulder, an injury sustained during the fourth quarter of last Sunday's loss in Oakland. The injury could mean Winslow will miss Sunday's home game against Baltimore, leaving the Browns without arguably their top offensive player.

Advice: Winslow, who has battled injuries throughout his four seasons as a pro, had six catches for 88 yards during Sunday's 26-24 loss to the Raiders. For the second time this week, Winslow came into the locker room Wednesday but declined an interview request. As he left, Winslow was asked if he'll play. "Of course I am,'' he said.

It depends on if you have the full version or not. If the clip starts early enough to include the "I don't give a hell" , then it is easily # 2.
The link posted includes "I don't give a hell", but it's still nowhere near Denny Green (warning: profanity). I love how, at the end, there's just dead silence in the room until someone says "uhhh... thanks coach" and he walks off. Also, I think one of the most underrated interviews of all time was

. He just starts with a normal conversational tone and out of nowhere just freaks out. And let's not forget about John L. Smith slapping himself. There are way too many amazing interviews for "I'm a Soldja!" to be #2.

Missed practice again on Thursday. From RotoWorld:

Kellen Winslow (shoulder) missed practice again Thursday.

Winslow has a partially dislocated shoulder, the same injury that cost Clinton Portis time early in 2006. The smart money is on Winslow missing Sunday's tilt with Baltimore. If he's active, he certainly won't be 100 percent.

ESPN had a good segment on this tonight, but they didn't include Kellen's clip.

Anyone else making serious other plans at TE and sitting WinslowII down no matter the final news? I've called up Daniels in 2 leagues to take his place (hopefully just for this week). I figure playing Baltimore and having shoulder problems can't be good for a bruising TE like KW2. This just isn't the Cinci D you know. I can't stand rostering 2 TEs but you just know going in with Winslow that a CYA TE is needed, same thing for Shockey it seems.

Winslow put up strong numbers against the Ravens last season:7-92

5-61

It'll be awfully tough to sit him if he plays. But yes, I have a standby (Heath Miller) waiting in the wings in case he doesn't.

Why do I have this vision of you sitting in a room with a toy phone pretending to actually call Daniels to give him the news of his call up...?You must be a fantasy baseball player. There is no minor league associated with the NFL.

Serious business.

I've got Winslow in just about every league. And I have Daniels backing him up in just about every league. I'm rolling the dice with Winslow this week....

Friday update from RotoWorld:

Kellen Winslow (questionable, shoulder) returned to a limited practice Friday.

He is expected to start against Baltimore, but is officially considered a game-time decision. Make certain that Winslow is active on Sunday morning.

I have Winslow in my lineup, the guy played all last year as "questionable". Thats just a part of who he is.

Hmm I sense a trend here.. why do all of us Winslow Owners have Daniels backing him up? :goodposting: I have Daniels penciled in but may switch it up if I hear Winslow is going to play for sure.

More on this from RotoWire:

The status of Winslow (dislocated left shoulder, questionable) remains up in the air for Sunday's game against the Ravens, the Browns' official site reports. "It's just lingering," Winslow said. "I've been through worse last year with what I had to go through with the knee. So I'm going to take it day by day and see how it goes." Winslow practiced on a limited basis Friday and is likely to give it try Sunday, ESPN's John Clayton reports. Check back prior to kickoff for his status, one way or the other though.

He'll play then

I know it's a joke but he is a warrior.

I don't like Winslow but he's a hell of a player.

He'll play.

Another member here of the Winslow / Daniels club, I think Daniels gets a lot of looks and a score this week as the MAIN receiving target on the Texans. As much as I like "The Soldier" I think I will play Daniels if Winslow is a game time decision. This should be an ideal time to start Daniels!

I'm playing him... more because I'm forced to by my opponents strong lineup and all my other injuries (Jackson, Portis on bye, Green, Walker, AJ) though. Can't settle for ok numbers from a backup. Gotta take a shot at a homerun.

Yeah I saw that too..(Clayton) I'm still not sold Winslow is playing for some reason. If I hear it from Mort too I'll switch him back in.

Browns | Winslow will play Week 4

Sun, 30 Sep 2007 08:50:04 -0700

Zac Jackson, of ClevelandBrowns.com, reports Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow (shoulder) will play in the team's Week 4 game.

Not that anyone's surprised by now, but Mort just confirmed Winslow is starting. Please don't kill him Ravens!

I'm very worried about him. I know last season he was Questionable every week and had good games but something seems bad about this one. Oh well I just hope the decision to start him isn't the difference between winning and losing.

Starting w/ confidence here.... He's on record as saying the knee was worse to deal with... as long as his wheels are fine I think he delivers.
