As a Redskins fan, I remember this. I was only 5 at the time and remember seeing this multiple times on VHS (parents recorded the game). I was highly disappointed that every SB that followed didn't have the same halftime entertainment.

Fox did a live "In Living Color" episode at that time and put out ads to switch stations during halftime that year. It had an impact as the Super Bowl stopped doing such shows since then.

A lot of channels used to do that. I remember watching the Beavis and Butt-Head halftime episode.

According to that link I posted the In Living Color one was the first one. The phenomenon has its own Wikipedia entry. I remember people being pretty excited about the first Beavis and Butt-head one- had no idea they did four of them.

I forget the details now, but I temped for awhile before I started working for real and one of the jobs I had was to enter a typewritten proposal for 1992 Super Bowl Halftime into a word processing system.

The only things I remember about it now is that my reaction was, "you have to be kidding me" -- the whole thing was ridiculous -- and also that it had Michael Jackson performing on a catwalk or somesuch.

When I actually saw this halftime show I thought, "they picked this over Michael Jackson?"

I wonder why channels don't do this sort of thing anymore. It would still be more entertaining than the SB halftime shows.

Expecting someone to lambaste this fool...I perk up for my chance to pile on. I don't want to be rude and diss him in his own house...first...but I'll gladly pile on if someone opens that gate.

I slump back down into my chair and start to evaluate my life and how I ended up where I was at that moment. What could I have done to make sure I'm not surrounded by these types of individuals again.
