While I don't think she's wondering if you're gay or she feels undesirable, I think DW's right that she's confused now.  You've given some mixed signals.  She opened the door very widely and you didn't walk through.

A basic fact of life is that people don't generally "need hugs."  Nor, especially, do they need them from people they barely know, late at night.  I don't believe there's any way she "needed" that second hug and it was as clear a signal as she could give while still wanting not to make herself vulnerable to rejection if she had misread your cues.  As mentioned, she's likely confused by the apparent interest but the lack of movement yet.  You might not have known her long but you've spent concentrated time together, and she's ready to move to the next step.

You seem to be handling all this extremely well given the results, much better than if you'd taken a lot of the advice in here (as an aside, if you, as stated in your last long post, are not seeking help, you might wish to change the thread title).  And you seem like a genuinely good guy to boot - they do not always finish last no matter what some might tell you.  I'm just not going to act like that second "hug" wasn't meant to be more for her.  It was.  You'll have other opportunities, though. :thumbup:

I can't recall if you mentioned it but how big is her rack?  When she hugged you did she intentionally smash them into your chest?

I never thought people would really find this #### interesting. It's been pretty fun. 

Regardless of the steps, "slow play," or whatever else, I can't make it any clearer than this.

That's very much it. No matter what the texts say, I can't imagine her not "wondering" a bit about his interest. 

This is where being experienced adults works against all of it. She's had life experience, been happy, been hurt, etc. Likely not into games. Into a fun chase, for sure, but not into prolonged "does he even like me that way?" And she's probably thinking that at least a little right now.

Anyone care to give me a brief synopsis of the last 5 or so pages? I saw the update post about the hugging thing, but any important info after that that I may have missed? If not, I may be able to go through them real quick, but if it's just "flex" jokes, discussions of weather, what our good Colonel was wearing, and questioning how our hero hugs, then I guess I didn't miss a whole lot. 

I can't believe there's 75 pages to this thread already!

I certainly appreciate the woman's perspective, so thank you. :)  I did actually think about changing the thread title, but figured it was kind of ingrained now, and I know how people feel around there about changed thread titles  :mellow:  I don't mind changing it though, I don't want to be misleading.

I get what you're saying about the "need hugs" thing, but that particular part was really just a product of our conversation. She (as I do myself), tends to take a jab and run with it. I was honestly 50/50 on kissing her. I was REALLY close to going for it. As someone else mentioned, though, I felt she was probably a little vulnerable from the day's events, the undisclosed information (here), and her body language. All that together made my mind up, be it "right" or "wrong."

She'd be thinking much higher of him right now if he had taken the initiative like several of us said and asked her to meet him outside instead of her doing it.  No woman I've met likes a passive guy.

Brony, am I wrong about hugs?  I mean, I've seen Hallmark cards and read Snoopy cartoons and stuff, but I thought that was a bunch of claptrap.  Maybe I'm off-base on that.

That's beautiful.  I am getting misty.  I am not sure the subtle dance of early romance has ever before been captured with such pathos.  I think we need to get Big bottom to record this.
