@Mister CIA had the same order as I did. The Rolling Stones album Sticky Fingers is actually what prompted me on that category.

I knew it was “sticky”, but I brain-locked on sticky note. Was thinking stuck piano key and not sure that was good and only later did the obvious post-it note pop into my head. But the rest were pretty easy for me so was mostly a matter of which group did I want to take first.

Knew I should’ve stared with gravy, but inexplicably went for knave instead of nerve. And thus my delusions of picking up a point on @bigbottom evaporated… I hadn’t peeked at the spreadsheet yet, but the 2 on Wordle had me encouraged. Had a good week there, bunch of 2’s. Then talked myself out of fleet at the end or I still could’ve done it.

Think I always would’ve missed sleet, but if not for a gravy error on my part I should’ve picked up 1 point. I had three 2’s in wordle this week, which was crazy and covered a couple bad rescue guesses.
 
Here's what happens when you play before coffee in the morning. Some really dumb mistakes, especially on Rescue.

This should have been nine. Went Could over Cloud, even though the O was already shown in the wrong position. But the worst one was guessing Bawdy over Buddy. Get this ... I already had the A exposed and did it anyway. So friggin dumb. I'm setting a new rule for myself. I either need to be awake for an hour or have at least one cup of coffee before attempting.

For that one, I saw fog, mist and haze, and was thinking either cloud or shadow, but wasn’t sure. I do try to think a couple steps ahead of what the groups will look like if certain words are eliminated. Once I looked at shadow, that revealed the “follow” theme. I just didn’t feel like Ice matched fog/mist/haze as well as cloud.

That's a good guess. I didn't see it that way (the water connection). Instead, I saw the sort of phenomenon to that obstructs vision - cloud, fog, mist, haze.

And I spend a whole lot of time analyzing the entire board and all the words before making my first guess. Also, I spend time finding the words that are the least flexible. For example, I honed in on nether. It means lower, and there were no other words that fit that definition. So it had to be some fill in the blank thing. And the only ones I could think of were nether regions and Netherlands. None of the other words worked with regions (note that I had already solved the pinball and haze categories) so "land" clicked. Ice, Ire, Fin.
